I was one Audible and I decided to choose this book because I like sci-fi romance and I thought this would be a good book to continue my sci-fi romance kick. I have to admit this was a fantastic choice! Miss Lauren killed this book and all I just wanted this book to be somewhat decent however she made this book amazing.
Rennek was such an honorable male that as soon as he came on the scene I knew he was not going to be a jerk. In so many instances the hero in a Sci-Fi or a paranormal romance book is an ass. He is overly confident and thinks that he is God's gift to women but with rennick he was not like that. He tried to woo Kate and not think that she was just going to magically fall in bed with him. I enjoyed Kate as a character as well.
Yes she had some moments where she did some stupid things but unlike other heroines she did not put herself in danger because she thought she could get her way out of the situation that she's currently in. Whenever something bad was happening she told Rennek instead of trying to handle the issue herself which I 100% appreciate it.
What this book there were a lot of separate plots happening and when this book ended there were more questions than we got answers. Take for instance the person who put a bounty on Rennek and his friends. Yes the bounty was removed at the end of the book however there still a traitor within the Federation but yet nobody knows who that person is. That person is just floating around still living their best life while humans are being trafficked still.
Also what happened to Rennek's dad? That is a question that I am 100% invested in because he up and disappeared and nobody knows what happened. I am 100% looking forward to the next book and hopefully the next book is available in audiobook soon because I cannot become vested in a series when there's only one audiobook available when there's actually four books in total!!
I also have to say I enjoyed Mason Lloyd and Noelle Bridges as Caton Riddick. They made this book come to life without them I don't think that I would have gotten the same experience as I would have....more
Liam is running away from his ex that did some horrible things to him. Being pregnant and homeless he does not know what to do. When he meets Christian he does not all fall madly in love with him. He knows the situation that he is in and does not want to burden anyone. However Otis has a other plans.
This was a very sweet book and I am glad that Tom, who we met in book 1, is actually a not so selfish individual. The only thing I was waiting for was Liam's ex popping out of the woodwork to try to get him back or to ruin things but that never happened. ...more

Let's just jump right into this review. For the past three books we have been anticipating the demise of the Witch Hunter. We all know that he's evil and we all know that he is up to no good however we have not really found out why he is doing what he does. Well we have in this book but before this book we didn't have any idea why he was doing any of the things he was. In this book things start to heat up tremendously.
Terec is someone that we met way back in First Contact. He did not have a major role then but we kind of figured that he would have a book eventually. The only thing is I didn't realize that he was going to play a major part in the demise of the Witch Hunter. But before we get into that let me backtrack just a tad bit.
The Witch Hunter decides to change up his MO just a bit. Up until this point he has been getting rid of people with psychic abilities. We still don't know why he's getting rid of people with psychic abilities but this isn't his first rodeo with committing genocide. We do get an explanation of who or rather what he is but we still don't understand what makes him tick.
Now let us get back to Terec and his romance with Adele. We all knew that him and Adele were mates and we knew that they were going to end up being together. Difference was that it would be a long road thanks to Adele's mother, Cara. That woman has irked me from the very first time I met her back in book one. She gives me this holier-than-thou vibe that I cannot deal with. I do understand that she is a single mother and her job is to protect her children but there is a difference between protecting and stiflingly and she stifles her children verses protecting them.
The romance between Adele and Terec was very sweet. One of the issues that I do have with Adele and it seems like all the other young girls within this is that they put themselves in situations to be harmed or get hurt. I cannot stand when a character is doing dumb stuff and it is blamed on youth tendencies. When I was a certain age I did not do certain things because I knew there would be consequences but yet these young girls don't realize that there are consequences and something bad might occur especially with the animosity between the new settlers and the Tantalrians.
There were a lot of twists and turns with in this book and I am all for that. People who I thought were gone forever are not so gone. The Witch Hunter is actually something that or someone that I never ever expected. The Tribunal has a ton of secrets that nobody knew about. I now know where they we're living when they decided to go away for centuries and it isn't what you think it is. I am looking forward to continuing the series and I cannot wait to see what happens....more
Aiden has finally received his happily ever after. When we meet Aiden he is despondent because everybody around him is finding their other half. AidenAiden has finally received his happily ever after. When we meet Aiden he is despondent because everybody around him is finding their other half. Aiden is a 3000 year old Immortal who is going through life coasting. When we initially meet him all he he wants to do is transfer to North Carolina in order to find a Gifted One to spend the rest of his days with but Seth choses not to transfer him. So like any Immortal in the series he decides to take matters into his own hands which helps him transfer over to North Carolina.
Aiden is a special character. He has a sense of humor, sweet, loyal, and just brave. When he finally meets Dana their first encounter was interesting to say the least. I enjoyed Dana and I enjoyed the relationship that she has with Aiden. She, unlike other heroines in the series, takes a lot of the revelations about Aiden and the Immortals in stride. Yes she does freak out a bit but she accepts what is happening around her and moves forward.
The only issue that I had when it came to both Aiden and Dana is since Dana is a psychic she does not want the glimpses she sees in the future to dictate how she lives her life presently.
This book I have to say was not what I was expecting. I knew that it was going to be action-packed because the fight between Seth and Gresham is kicking up but I was not expecting half of the stuff that he ended up doing in this book. This is the first time that we have gotten his point of view and it is not the most lucid mind. Clearly there is something off with him but you can never figure out what it is. He called Seth his nemesis but yet we don't know what Seth did to him in order to be classified as such. I know Seth's book is coming up and I hope that Dianne Duvall explores why Gresham has this animosity towards Seth. It would be really interesting to find out if he is actually jealous and envious of Seth or if there is more to it
Cliff is a character who I fell in love with way back when and I really hope that there is a way to save him because every time he ends up suffering my heart hurts for him. I don't understand why he is not a gifted one. I just want to see him happy and he has found love and to find love when you are a vampire and you know that you're going to lose your mind but you keep fighting is so noble and courageous.
I don't know how the next book is going to go but I am kind of interested to see where Dianne takes it. We know things are heating up but what is Gresham going to do now? The way that this book end 12 Gifted Ones was transformed into Immortals. I need to know where they are and what is Gresham's master plan....more

A lot of the Facebook groups that I am part of have members who follow Dianne and this series is always being recommended. Since I like to try new authors I decided why not. Why not try a new series to figure out what are the hullabaloo is about? This book starts off with a bang. A fight scene is taking place within the first 5 minutes of the audiobook and I am all for it.
Roland is a vampire but not really. Like most not really vampires, in this case Immortals, he is out here trying to save the world and kicking ass. Unfortunately for him he is lured into a trap and now battling to survive. But like any good action storybook we have a heroine who saves his life not knowing what he really is. Everything seems to get a bit complicated when Sarah is thrown in the middle of this conflict.
Sarah and Roland are dancing around the feelings with one another and I'm okay with that. They do not fall in bed with one another within the first two chapters which always a plus but it wasn't a slow burn like some authors do. Their love affair seems to take the appropriate amount of time to build. There were a couple of side characters that were introduced and I am already invested.
I'm invested in Seth who is the leader of the Immortals. David, who is second in command. Daryl who is David's second. Marcus who is simply fantastic and who boom 2 Night Reigns is about and I'm totally excited for that. I don't know if I am invested in Sebastian who we will get to know more about ater but I do feel bad for him. He is the main antagonist of this book but definitely not of the series.
This book was a great beginning to the series. This book sets up a very interesting war between the Immortals and the vampires since, unlike other series that have vampires, these vampires are going crazy. This book has some similarities with other series that I have followed but it is original and its own way. ...more

There are a lot of silimiatries when it comes to these series. I cannot say if this series is on the same level of BDB but I am up to the task.
I enjoyed Savannah and Gideon. Savannah was not the typical heroine. She did not go half cocked and think what she knew was best. There are so many times where a heroine thinks that she knows what she is doing but actually puts not only herself but the hero in danger. Savannah knew what she could do and what she couldn't and accepted that.
Gideon was you typical alpha male but in a good way. He knew he cared for her from the beginning and wanted to protect her. Unfortunately for him and most alpha males then tend to go overboard or tend to hind things from the heroine and shit starts to hit the fan. In this case that is what happens.
Even with the couple of hiccups I enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to learning more about this world and I am excited to read more about the different characters. I heard a lot of good things about Lucan's book, Kiss of Midnight. ...more

Shane is a special kind of soldier who has been enhanced in a variety of different ways. When we are first introduced to Shane he is in a hospital with amnesia. The way that Josie and Shane met seems as though it just happened but nothing just happens within the Sin Brothers World.
There are plenty of twists and action and of course hot sex and also there are three other brothers that we get to experience and think of as book boyfriends.
Lately I have been going through my collections of stories and just rereading just to see if any were as good as it was the first time. Usually the first book is never an indicator to see if the series was good but Rebecca opened up the series with a bang. This book is a book that I can reread a multitude of times and never tire. A lot of things happened within the story and all of it was good. There wasn't a moment within the store where I felt as though I just wanted it to hurry up and move along. There was action from the beginning, when we are first introduced to Glacier and Mandy to the very last scene. Even the epilogue, which sometimes is unnecessary, was cute. I'm excited to see the other brother's get books however the next book is not about Creed or Glacier's brothers.
I don't remember who Redson is and I do know that he is the next person in line to get a book. While keeping that in mind we see Lex and Maya who have a stupid, crazy, strong connection to another fight the pull to be together because Lex is supposed to be 'destined' to be someone else's mate.
This book had a lot of angst only because Maya and Lex were fighting not to be together. Let me by first stating that I have never listened or read anything by Kate Rudolph and Starr Huntress. I am a huge fan of Sci-Fi romance and I figured that I should just go ahead and drive right into these two works. It also helped that Ian Gordon and Jennifer Gill who narrator basically ALL of one of my favorite authors, M.K. Eidem's, books. This audiobook already had twenty million pluses with it.
When I got into the story I realized that it is a good book in its own right as well. I loved Raze and I loved Sierra. The fact that this book had two very strong main characters made me happy. Even though the main characters where great the secondary characters were not. I disliked most of the women in this story. I know as a woman that sounds bad but they just criticized and made Sierra and Raze and all of the Detyen Warriors fell like they were useless.
I understand that some of the women had horrible things happen to them however the way they acted was not needed. Also Sierra's work colleagues were just horrid. I know that they had a mission however it seems as though they dislike Sierra and I want to know why? It just seems as though there is something underlying between the three women.

This book is about to shifters Tomer and Leonid who are fated to be together but because of their circumstances, both being from opposing packs, that can't happen. This story is a little over an hour and a half and it chronicles 4 years. Like the title says Leonid had Tomer's child without Tomer knowing about it.
For the majority of the story of follows Leonid and their son until about 20 minutes left where it goes back to Tomer. We come to find out that Elmer has been trying to escape his clan the entire time he has been away. It's a good thing that he was actually being active trying to escape because if he was just having a good time at his old clan I would kind of be annoyed with that.
This book will never win a literary high honor award as in the Man Booker Prize or the Pulitzer Prize however I have to say that I quite enjoyed this. I enjoy shifter novels and this is a spin on that. Also the male shifter's anatomy in this book is very interesting. Would have never thought any of that would happen.
I have never listened to a story narrated by Giles Barron and I have to say that I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the fight that he gave each character a distinct voice versus everybody sounding the same. There are a lot of narrators out there that changes the pitch of their voice just a smidge and want the listeners to accept the fact that this is a different character when you sound the same just a bit nasally. I have to admit that I really enjoyed this story. I loved August Griffin Shipley, III. He is your typical alpha male but a big mushy teddy bear as well. I love the whole family dynamic they had on the farm and I loved Audrey. Audrey is one of those characters who knows that she is not perfect and accepts it. The only issue that I really had with her is she put herself down a lot and assumed everybody around her felt the same way. She was always waiting for the ceiling to fall on her and I felt bad for her at times.
My only true issue with this book is the fact that the way it ended was incomplete. The last chapter was about Audrey may be getting a job that would work out for her and Griffin selling his cider. Then it was done. There was no mention about the interview that Audrey and Griffin had. There was no mention about what is going to happen with the gift Audrey got from her mother. There was no indication about if Audrey forgave her mother or started to understand her mother. I didn't like the ending. I understand that it was a segway into Jude's book, Steadfast, but you can't just go into somebody else's book without completing the first book.
That is one of my biggest pet peeves that I have with any author. I don't want to assume what is going to happen with the main characters. Hopefully these questions will get answered within Kyle's book Keepsake....more

Part of me wants to love this book because it is a Sci-Fi romance book but part of me wants to rebell at the graphic details of this book. There was a scene where one of the women was clearly raped. When some books have rape scenes within them they tend to gloss over them. This book however went into vivid details and description about the horror. Even the heroine, Georgie, was a bit violated as well and that was in vivid detail.
Aside for the horrors that occurred within the first 25% of the book it started to get better. When Georgie ended up meeting Vektal I did not know what to think. He is your typical Alpha alien male. He knows what he wants and does not back down when it comes to getting what he wants. Throughout the entire book him and Georgie had difficulty to communicate about basic things but when it came to sex that did not happen.
I cannot wait to see what ends up happening with the 12 other women that were captured and also what is going to happen with the alien that abducted them. One of the girls still has the translator in her ear and I'm pretty sure that is a homing beacon for those little green aliens. I have listed below all of the books in this Anthology and given a brief review of each story. Overall this audiobook is a solid 3. I cannot go higher because one of the books really just completely annoyed me to no end and the very first book in the series was not complete at all whatsoever. And then the last book in the series was not complete either. It completely drove me nuts to no end.
Teresa Stephens was an okay narrator. I just don't like the fact that all of the females and all of the story sounded the same. As well as all of the men sounded the same. I just wanted a bit of a distinction between all of the characters even though they're all separate books.
Tempting Olivia's Father
This is a short story about two people who met back in high school. Scarlett moved away when she was 16 and had a major crush on Caleb who was 21 when they first met. Scarlett ends up moving back to their small town and into her childhood home as well which conveniently enough is next to Caleb. Scarlett has a vague background and so does Caleb. I understand this is a short story however I would have liked more information pertaining to the two characters. I do love Olivia, she is super cute and I am glad that she actually has some speaking roles. The story was good enough however it was left unfinished. I don't get the ending and I wanted more.
Nanny to Mommy
Stacy is sort of an enigma. She wants to be taken care of however she does not want to be a kept woman. She is independent however wants to be with an older man that is established so she does not have to help someone her own age. Stacy just confuses me as a whole. However I do like Stacy even though she is an enigma. Jeffrey is your typical alpha male who is a single father. He does Chase Stacy and is okay with her wanting to take things slow. Stacy does not want to cross the line of employee and employer however it does end up happening. So I am kind of annoyed with this story. They do get there happily ever after however this story is finished whereas Tempting Olivia's Father was not. Why is Nanny to Mommy finished and Tempting Olivia's Father is not?
Scarlett’s Initiation
The story starts with Michael meeting his daughter, Alice, for the first time. Scarlet, the title character, is the nanny of Alice. When Alice's dad Michael goes to retrieve her he promptly advises Scarlett that she is coming along for the ride. I don't understand the relationship between Michael and Scarlett. Also the sucks does not seem realistic to me at all whatsoever. There is a part where they have anal sex and they do not have any type of lubrication whatsoever and that just makes my butt clench in pain. I just didn't like the story.
Under His Spell
Elijah is going through a custody battle with his no good abandoning baby mama. His lawyer informed him that he needs to be more stable. As in becoming a one woman man and not a bachelor with the kid. Audrey, the heroine, is going through a lot. By trade she is a nanny but currently she's unemployed and struggling to take care of her little brother, Jack. Addison, the elusive baby mama only cares about herself. She doesn't want anything to do with her daughter but only is concerned about what her husband thinks of her. Audrey and Elijah work out their issues and again they have a happy ending. This book is not as bad as Scarlett's Initiation but still not as good as Nanny to Mommy, even though it is incomplete 😐😣😥 and Tempting Olivia's Father.
