Chapter 1 Introduction
Background of the Study:
Commercial mosquito repellants come in many forms. It is not eco friendly and its health hazard. The researcher think of oregano as an additive component for the alternative mosquito coil.
Statement of the Problem: -Can Oregano be an Effective Mosquito Coil Repellant? Importance of the Study:
The result of the study is that be able to make a mosquito coil that is not harmful to our health and to kill mosquito that are vector carriers of dengue.
Definition of terms:
*Oregano- Oregano, scientifically named Origanum vulgare by
Carolus Linnaeus, is a common species of Origanum, a genus of the mint family. It is native to warm-temperate western and southwestern Eurasia and the Mediterranean region.
*Mortar
wood, ceramic or stone. The pestle is a heavy club-shaped object, the end of which is used for crushing and grinding.
*Mosquito-coil-
A mosquito
usually shaped into a spiral, and typically made from a dried paste of pyrethrum powder.
*Hot
Chapter 3 Methodology
Gathering of Materials:
The Oregano experiment is made at Eupena's residence, Durian Village Calinan Davao City. The materials we need are Dries Oregano, Bowl, Oregano Extract, Gum Powder, Mortar and Pestle, Charcoal, and Hot Water.
