1) Parents should diligently supervise their children at all times when at the pool, as no amount of swimming lessons can replace supervision. 2) If a child struggles or falls in the water, parents should help the child use their swimming skills to roll onto their back or push off to the wall rather than panicking. 3) Parents are encouraged to teach children that the water is a safe place by having them roll onto their back or swim to the wall if they fall in, so they learn safe habits in case they ever fall in unexpectedly.
