This is your homework packet for the week of November 17-21. The packet is due on Friday, November
21st. First graders do not receive a grade for homework, but it is checked for completion and accuracy.
Spelling Our spelling words for this week will follow o_e spelling pattern. We will have a test on Friday, November
21st.
Spelling Words Our spelling words for this week are hope, nose, note, rope, cute, cube, home, bone, use, huge,
these, close, ago, boy, girl, how, old, people, please. The activities below are suggestions for spelling practice.

Rainbow Write (use different colored pens or markers) the words five times each.
Sky Write (pretend your finger is a pencil and spell in the air) the words five times each.
Write a sentence for each word.
Make flashcards to practice reading and spelling each word.
Take a practice spelling test on Thursday night.

Vocabulary - Words that will be discussed this week are: century, entertainment, future, past, present. Please
discuss these words and practice using them in sentences throughout the week. We will talk about these words in
class as well.
Math Complete pages P93-P94 in your math homework book.
Reading - This week we are in unit 3, week 4 in our Wonders reading series. Please complete pages 131 and 132
from the Wonders Your Turn practice book. Your child is encouraged to complete additional pages from unit 3.4 if
he or she needs additional practice. Please keep the book at home and return only the completed pages in the
purple homework folder.
Reading Log - Please read with your child for at least 45 minutes each week. Please record the books that you
have read and return in your homework folder on Friday.
