ACTIVITY 7: INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

Instructional Materials is part of the educational technology that has a respective

educational purposes. It is used to attain the instructional objectives. It help the teacher

for the improvement and affectivity in teaching-learning process as well as to the progress

and development of the learners. In selecting the materials to be used like tarpaulin,

projector, chalkboard and MP4, it’s also important to consider the different guidelines that

should be needed to become effective and efficient in using it.

So, as a future educator, we need to bare in mind the different ways on how to select

and use the different instructional materials. It is necessary that we should use an

appropriate materials for our learners or in accordance to the level of their learning and

styles. It should also attainable wherein it can successfully attain the learning objective

that we set.

Although all of the instructional materials are good and effective, it cannot be achievable

without the enough knowledge of the teacher in using it. It always rely to the teacher the

effectivity of the material. But of course, we cannot deny the fact that the best and

effective instructional material is the teacher himself. It's not good that the teacher always

depend to the material, sometimes "SELF" is enough for the effectiveness of the teaching-

learning process. Remember, no instructional material is much higher than the efficient

teacher.

ACTIVITY 8: ASSIGNMENTS

Spoon feeding is highly not recommended when it comes to teaching students. It

ruins the learning capabilities of students, thus making the whole point of education

useless. Schools are the places where a teacher clears the concepts and asks the students

to learn in their homes on their own. This homework is of immense displeasure for

students as they think studying in the school or college timings is enough for them.

Assignments is help to increase the learning capabilities of students. The more we

use our brains, the more they develop. This is a proven scientific fact and this is the

principle behind giving extremely creative and involving assignments to the students.

Students learn a lot more when they read or practice something by themselves. So the

advantages are endless and the possibilities are many, if one really thinks about it. But

the problem is that students don’t like assignments. They want to enjoy their lives to the

fullest, which, if they think about, they can do it on their own if they manage their time.

The more you practice the better you get.

ACTIVITY 9: TESTING AND GRADING

Grades reflect personal philosophy and human psychology as well as efforts to

measure intellectual progress with standardized, objective criteria. Whatever our personal

philosophy about grades, their importance to our students means that we must make a

constant effort to be fair and reasonable and to maintain grading standards we can

defend if challenged. Tests have always been a motivator to study harder when students

know that their progress will be judged upon an exam, a performance review etc. It sets

a deadline for when material.

The use of different forms of testing, such as multiple choice tests, fill-in-the-

blanks, true or false, or essay questions can also be used to assess the progress of

students with different learning styles. Catering to the needs of different learning styles

is an important aspect of e-learning which gives it the edge over traditional learning

models. l needs to be learned by and diligent students know they must adhere to that

ACTIVITY 10: CO- CURRICULAR AND EXTRA- CURRICULAR

Co-curricular activities are the true and practical experiences received by students.

To a greater extent, the theoretical knowledge gets strengthened when a relevant co-

curricular activity is organized related to the content taught in the classroom. Intellectual

aspects of personality are solely accomplished by Classroom, while aesthetic

development, character building, spiritual growth, physical growth, moral values,

creativity, etc. are supported by co-curricular activities. Frankness and clarity in language

and personality is supported by these activities.

It helps to develop co-ordination, adjustment, speech fluency, extempore

expressions, etc. As I observed, The Olongapo City Elementary School not only focus on

their Co- curricular but also in extra- curricular activities like CLARAA, Lantern parade,

Mtap, activities like participation in game debates, music, drama, etc., help in achieving

overall functioning of education. and etc. It should be the duty of the teacher to give

more and more opportunity to the child while performing co-curricular activities and to

their extra- curricular activities.
