Assessment of Lesson Objective and Suggestions for Improvement:
2
remembering that we are using recyclable material. It is ok to make
mistakes and to erase things as this is a draft copy, once finished the
draft it must be approved by the teacher before you move on to the
good copy.
a. If students want to visualise the dimensions of their roof they
can spend 5 minutes using lego to ‘build’ their roof and decide Lego
if it needs any changing.
7. When checking students draft copies make sure they have used a ruler
and measured when drawing. The good copy is to be done as neatly as Assessment sheet
possible.
8. Students can trace their drafts to create a good copy. When labelling
the materials students are to: Blank paper
a. rule a straight line to the label,
b. when writing measurements they are too put two arrows on
either side of the measurement to signal the length of the entire
thing (point on example to demonstrate)
9. On a separate piece of paper students are to write two lists of materials, Lined paper
ones that are recycled and ‘new’ materials that they plan on using.
10. When finished students are to place their diagrams into their design
brief folders. Design brief folders
9:50
Lesson Closure:(Review lesson objectives with students)
1. Ask if any students want to show their design and talk about it.
2. Discuss why we need a design to follow
3. Discuss what materials people have chosen to use and why.
Transition: (What needs to happen prior to the next lesson?)
10:00
Review students design briefs, taking anecdotal notes on students who have not
finished.
Collaborate students materials list and send a message home in the newsletter
with the list of materials students need and continuing collecting resources.
Assessment: (Were the lesson objectives met? How will these be judged?)
Use marking key to assess students designs and their materials lists.
