1.0 PURPOSE
This procedure establishes a wire brush and air cleaning procedure for all types of pipes and
fittings including all the on-line components of the in the pipeline system.

The procedure is applicable to personnel who are responsible for cleaning and washing all
types of pipes and fittings including all the on-line components of the in the pipeline system
with the wire brush and dry air. Documentation of this activity will be in appropriate shift
records and / or daily maintenance log books. Detergent cleaning and washing works will be
done in-situ and the detachable or removable parts may be cleaned in the project / plant wash
room.
3.0 APPLICABILITY
The document is applicable for the wire brush and air cleaning procedure for all types of pipes
and fittings including all the on-line components of the in the pipeline system.by the operation
and maintenance technicians.

The operation and maintenance technicians under supervision of the Shift – In – Charge.

8.0 PROCEDURES
This procedure, wire brush and air cleaning procedure for all types of pipes and fittings is actually a
part system of mechanical cleaning. All fittings and the components of the pipeline system must be
first wire brushed and then dry air cleaning shall be subsequently taken up to remove the stains, dusts,
dirts and other foreign materials stickled to the surfaces of the piping materials.
