VIII. CLASSROOM POLICIES:

Classroom Policies:

1. Classroom attendance
a. Classroom attendance is an integral part of the education experience; therefore, it is the responsibility of the student to attend class. Attendance will be taken every meeting through screenshot of the
involved participants before and after the online session.
b. Extension and late submission of requirements will only be considered if they are made in writing to the lecturer at least 3 days before the due date. Generally, no extension will be given for the
assignments. Please contact your lecturer/facilitator if there is a problem.
NOTE: (Submission / Resubmission)
b.1 Should work be submitted after the due date without written approval for an extension, it will incur a penalty of a 5% deduction from the grade for every 2 days it is late.
b.2 Should the work be assessed as being close to a pass grade, but the standard has not quite been reached, the opportunity to re-submit may be offered by the lecturer.

2. Assignments. Assignments will be given frequently throughout the semester after each lecture. It is the students’ responsibility to get a copy of the assignment tasks from the instructor. The assignment will depend
on the topic discussed which should be submitted on the agreed date. It must be written based on the format agreed in the class.

3. Academic Honesty. All USePians are bound to follow the rules and regulations stipulated in the student handbook of the University and the College of Teacher Education and Technology. All University policies
regarding academic honesty apply to this course. Academic dishonesty includes, but not limited to, cheating in any form, plagiarism and the like.
a.Cheating is a serious offense. If you cheat on any assignment or examination, the minimum penalty is a grade of zero for that work. Your conduct may also be referred to the Office of the Student Services.
b.Undergraduate students are encouraged to work together in the exchange of ideas and in general discussion of their assignments. However, it is also expected that the work of analyzing data and writing
reports will be done individually. In the event that it is clear that reports or data have been copied from another student, both students will receive a mark of zero on that examination, test, report or assignment.

4.Classroom Rules and Etiquette while using Zoom or Google Meet

Before the Meeting
a.This is our virtual classroom. Find a comfortable spot to sit. It is best to keep your device on a steady surface if possible. Make sure your background is school
friendly.
b.Appropriate classroom behavior is expected. Polite and professional language shall be used at all times. Find a location where you cannot avoid background noise mute your device and feel free to
listen in.
When the meeting starts
c. Mute your device by clicking the microphone button. Please keep your audio on mute until you want to speak. This will help to limit background noise.
During the meeting
d.Be patient, this is a learning experience for everyone. If you would like to speak or answer a question, use the “Raise Hand” feature. Then unmute yourself after you are called on. Speak in a
controlled and clear manner so everyone can hear. Be engaged. Nod or give thumbs up when others are speaking. Unmute your microphone when your teacher asks you to talk. Mute your device
again when you are done speaking. Even though we are not in our school building, our school rules and expectations still apply.
d.If you would like to use the chat box, remember that it is public and a record of the chat is kept and archived. Do not record the session to protect the privacy of all participants. You must have
legal consent from all of the participants to record a meeting. Inappropriate use/behavior on Google Meets will be handled by the teacher or facilitator to be held to the Office of Student Affairs if
necessary.
e.Have paper and a pen or pencil handy to take notes. Attempt to select an area in your home with enough space for necessary items - books, notebooks, computers, etc
