The purpose of this experiment is learning the operation principle of MOSFETs and
understanding common source amplifier and current mirrors.
Do not forget to submit your oscilloscope screenshots to the course assistants with the report.
EXPERIMENT:
1. Common source amplifier: Construct the circuit given in Figure 1 using the values given in Table 1.
Before applying AC signal to the circuit, measure the operating point and fill Table 2.
Apply a 100KHz sinusoidal voltage that has a minimum amplitude to be given by the signal
source. Plot the input and output voltages onto Figure 2 properly.
Adjust the input voltage that satisfies the output voltage as high as possible without any
distortion. Plot the input and output voltages onto Figure 3 properly.
Then, remove the CS capacitor and repeat the previous stages with Figure 4 and Figure 5.
Compare these two circuits in terms of voltage gain. Explain the similarities/differences and
support your opinions with the preliminary work calculations

2. Construct the current mirror circuit shown in Figure 6. Supply constant 15V to VDD and apply an
adjustable voltage to VI from the voltage source.
Make the measurement according to Table 4 and plot IREF-VI and IOUT-VI on Figure 7.
As you see higher than some point, IOUT cannot follow IREF. What is the reason? Indicate the
transistors operating regions for all measurements.
