• Prefer the word said, not stated, muttered, exclaimed, etc.

• For past events, remove the word last; for future events,
next.

• Write the full name of the person and organization when


first mentioned.

• If the title or honorific for the person is rather long, place it


after the person’s name, separated by a comma. DO NOT
CAPITALIZE.

moreover, meanwhile, however).

• Short titles of persons should precede the names. Longer


titles should follow the names.
