Sub.: Fusion Bonded Epoxy Coating to Reinforcement Steel Bars supplied by you to be
used for your Akurli Subway Project on WEH.
Dear Sir,
This is with reference to your requirement in regard to the rates for Fusion Bonded
Epoxy Coating for reinforcing bars. The basic assumptions for the rates are explained herein
below as per our standard terms and conditions. The coating specification are as per IS
13620:93.
1) Coating Charges [Ex. Mumbai]

a) IGST @ 12% shall be applicable on 100% of the above coating rates as per statutory
norms at the time of dispatch.
b) Any other local taxes / levies if applicable shall be borne by you.
c) The above rates are subject to change in case of any revision in the taxes, duties etc.
on account of statutory changes.

2) Accessories/Additional Items:
a) Two compound Epoxy patch-up material:
The Repair kit will be provided for touch up work.
b) PVC Coated binding wire:
18 Gauge galvanized binding wires coated by PVC [extrusion process shall be
supplied at the rate of Rs.80/- per kg. Ex.Daman plus IGST @ 18%]
3) Transportation:
Delivery of bare bars to our Daman plant will be in your scope.
The transportation of coated bars from our Daman plant to your site in Mumbai will be in
our scope.
The above rates are for a payload of 30 MT ± 2 MT and for length upto 12 meters. In
case the quantity is less, a minimum of 28 MT shall be charged for the purpose of
transportation. And in case the material is more than 14 meters in length, penalty at
Borders (Gujarat & Maharashtra) shall be borne by you. The above rates are exclusive of
any loading, unloading and handling at steel yard or at job site. However, the handling at
our works shall be free of cost.
4) Inspection:
a) All quality inspections shall be carried out at our works in Daman, Near Vapi
[Gujarat].
b) Weighing of un-coated/coated steel with permissible variation at our Factory
Weighing Bridge, approved by Weights and Measurements Authorities, shall be
considered final and acceptable to you.
5) Payment Terms
100% in advance.
6) Basic Assumptions for the Quote:

a) You will supply reinforcement steel bars of good quality, preferably with mill
scale, in straight lengths of not less than seven meters and up to 12 meters in
length.
If the bars are supplied in bent condition the straightening charges at the rate of
Rs.1000/- per MT plus 18% IGST shall be payable by you. The delivery of coated
bars will be delayed 10- 15 days for straightening purpose.
In case the material is supplied in rusted condition there will be a loss of weight
in the process of de-rusting by shots/grits blasting and that would be 1.5 to 2%,
which may be considered permissible process loss.

While weighing at our Daman Plant if the difference is more than 100 kgs either
trailor lot or diameter-wise the same will be informed to you. However,
difference below 100 kgs will be considered as weigh bridge tolerance. The same
difference applies to the coated bars too.
b) The reinforcement for coating shall be delivered along with (i) GST Paid Steel
Invoices, (ii) Test Certificate as per IS 1786 (as the coating shall not be carried out
on untested steel), and (iii) Job Work Challan (format of the same will be
provided to you as and when require).
c) The inspection of the coating shall be carried out at our factory, prior to the
dispatch of coated material, as per the address given below:

d) You shall provide the necessary stacking materials such as wooden spacers,
plastic sheets or covered area etc. at your site.
e) The cut ends and the other damages to the coated bars effected at site shall be
touched up by your labour with the patch-up compound.
f) You shall use PVC coated binding wires for tying Fusion Bonded Epoxy coated
bars to be in position for concreting.
g) We shall provide supervision and technical guidance to your labour, supervisors

and engineers on the use of FBE coated bars properly at job site.
h) The rates given above are inclusive of loading, unloading and handling charges at
factory and are exclusive of loading, unloading and handling of coated bars at job
site.
7) Validity:
This offer is valid for one month from the date of this letter.
8) Delivery:
Deliveries can be made at the rate of 100 MT per week with effect from the date of
receipt of the material.

9) Infrastructure:
We have the requisite engineering infrastructure to execute the job to the
specifications [as per IS 13620:1993/ASTM 775] as we have the technology,
equipment, trained technical manpower and all the necessary technical know-how,
with the necessary testing facilities.
