    Introduction

    The Field Study 1 (Observations of Teaching-Learning in Actual School


    Environment) and Field study 2 (Participation and Teaching Assistantship) are programs
    that gives opportunity to all FS students to experience an actual school environment. It
    is also a qualification or requirement to become a teacher. In this program, we, FS
    students, should observe not just the teachers and school surroundings but most
    especially the students. Afterwards, we must analyze what we observe and experience
    in the school that we choose to work with. Lastly, reflecting on our experience during
    our stay in our chosen school will help us to be a lifelong learner that will surely make
    us to become an effective educator.

    On the 17th day of October 2022, our school, Urdaneta City University,
    deploy us on our chosen school to work with as a Field Study 1 and 2 students. The
    field study coordinator deploy me in the Mataas Na Paaralang Juan C. Laya and I will be
    staying here until December 16, 2022. At first, I felt nervous and excited at the same
    time because after about 2 years of online class and staying at home, finally we are
    able to experience a face-to-face observation, and participation in this program.

    In our stay at Mataas Na Paaralang Juan C. Laya, I hope I will get along
    with my co-FS student, with the teachers and most especially, the students. I’m
    expecting myself to have more confidence on public speaking as well as social anxiety
    for I chose a career that socialization is important. I’m looking forward for the
    development of my skills and self-enhancement.

    Week 1

    In our first day of deployment before we finally start our field study observation,
    we wait first our dean to endorsed us first in the school that we have been deployed.
    He endorsed us to the principal and we have a short orientation before we go into our
    respected departments. After our orientation Sir Allan Guillermo guides us to our
    respected departments for us to formally start our field study observation.

    After the endorsement to the principal, we proceed to our department and our
    department head orients us again on what are the things we should do as a pre-service
    teacher and then our department head assigns us to our cooperating teachers and the
    one who has been assigned to me is my former instructor at the Urdaneta City
    University which is Sir Alfie Serna Secretario. But before we go to our respected
    cooperating teachers they fixed first our schedule and also because of the situation that
    the school is still not in full blast they allows us to be with the teachers that has their
    class for us to fill our time and for us to observe the different teaching techniques of
    every teacher which is good for us to able to adopt their teaching techniques and
    styles.

    Our first week of deployment is the week of adjusting and adopting because
    we’ve been doing online class in the whole 2 years so we are adjusting again in the
    environment and the system but the good thing is even though we are in the online
    class we are still learned and equip with knowledge that we are going to use in our field
    study observation and to or internship in the next semester.
