NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE CONDUCT OF SCHOOL-BASED ORIENTATION

PROJECT GADGET (GENERATIVE ASSESSMENT DATA GATHERING ELECTRONIC

TOOL)
NOVEMBER 11, 2022
Pursuant to Division Memorandum No. 78, s.2022, schools were directed to
use the Project Gadget as part of the strategies to address learning gaps and loses
and to accelerate learning, thereby identifying learning needs and design appropriate
intervention and remediation activities.
Based on the memorandum, the tool was developed to: 1) analyze the
recently conducted first quarterly summative assessment; 2) provide baseline data
on learners’ performance in all learning areas which are necessary in designing
intervention and remediation programs; 3) to identify the least mastered
competencies for the first quarter and the succeeding quarters; and 4) to guide
teachers in improving test items through summative tests through the project’s item
analysis facility.
In order for teachers to fully understand the technical know-how of the said
project, Nampicuan Elementary School staff conducted a LAC Session last
November 11, 2022 in lieu of other topics scheduled for the month of November
because the need for orientation and discuss the system and the data gathering
using this electronic tool is deemed urgent and more important.
The school’s ICT Coordinator, Mrs. Michelle G. Guinita, presented the general
information on the Project GADGET and demonstrated the use of the tool including
its templates. After which the teachers have done a workshop using the data from
the recently conducted first quarterly summative tests.
Although the teachers have already started the item analysis before the
Project GADGET was introduced, they found the tool more flexible and useful since
it involves checking system, recording of scores, item analysis, identifying least
mastered competencies and tracking the over all performance of all learners in all
grade levels across all learning areas.
Therefore the conduct of the LAC was considered successful and very relevant.
