Description:
The Eumelia event will be a bundle of various sub events where participants would
Present their vocal and instrumental skills and sing their hearts to please the ears of
the
audience. We intend to provide stage to singers and musicians to present their best
show here in the domains of music, classical singing and modern singing etc.
We intend to organize four sub-events, Aalaap, Acoustic corner, Jukebox, and
Tarang.
Each of these events will be focusing into various different genres and fields of
music.
Plan of conduct-
I. Aalaap will focus on the various domains of Classical Singing.
Rules
1. Accompanying instruments: A maximum of THREE performing
instrumentalists are allowed. Drum kits, an amplifier and a synthesizer will
be provided by ABV-IIITM; for all other instruments, it will be the
responsibility of the participant and the accompanying instrumentalist to
arrange and maintain the instrument.
2. Use of synthesizer tracks: Use of synthesizer tracks is STRICTLY
FORBIDDEN. Any participant found violating this rule would be liable to
immediate disqualification.
3. Song: The music should be chosen/composed along the lines of the theme
announced one week prior to the event. The event is NOT genre-specific.
● Prizes: Cash prizes will be awarded for the first three positions.

he/she will have a total of 6 minutes to go to the stage, set the
instruments, perform a sound check (if required) and perform.
Exceeding time will result in penalties.

Le Arte Fiesta-
Description:
Art is as natural as sunshine and as vital as nourishment. Le Arte Fiesta involves the
amalgamation of various events which will showcase the creative and artistic talents
of
young minds. Le Arte Fiesta shall include events which will be held at regular
intervals
through all the 3 days of Aurora and engage participants throughout. This year we
have
given special preference to it and have come up with several new events as well as
keeping in mind the previous best. These include Photo Depot, Naqaab, Comic Strip,
On-Spot Sketching, Pixelate, Street Art and On-Spot Painting, hence portraying
modern as well traditional art forms.

Each individual can submit only one entry. Multiple entries will lead to
disqualification.
Time limit: 3 hrs.
No external help (ex. internet) is allowed during the event
Material will be provided however participants can bring their own materials

Naqab:
Rules:
1. This is a team event. Each team will have 2 members. One member will paint on
the other member's face.
2. Participating teams are needed to paint based on a theme provided on the spot.
3. Time limit for the event is 1 hour
4. Stickers and any kind of make-up item are not allowed.
5. Only chart paper and paints should be used to make any kind of accessories
6. All logistics shall be provided on the spot. No additional logistics apart from that
provided in the beginning shall be provided.
7. The organizing team reserves the right to change or modify any of the rules.
Prizes:
Cash prizes will be awarded for the first three positions.
Pros:
Best entries from the participants will be archived.
Computer graphics skills / Ui-Ux skills better up
The Pikture-
Silverscreen- The movie making contest for several previous editions has been one
of
the premier events of the Aurora where students with interest and prowess in the
movie
making domains come forwards with their short movies. This event will also bring
out
the talents of the participants or the students in domains like film editing,
cinematography etc.
Silverscreen
Rules:
1. The participants will have to submit their videos in a CD/DVD/Pen drive at the
control tent. Aurora is not responsible for any technical problems arising out of
non-compatibility of the videos.
2. The submissions would be taken on the last day of Aurora one hour before the
start of the event. The participants must be present at the specified venue during the
judging of their submission.
3. Judging criteria includes fest coverage, content, editing and overall impact of the
video.
4. Aurora reserves the right to use the video entries on social media (suitable credits
will be given to the people responsible for the creation of the content).
5. The use of copyright content like background music, etc. is not allowed and will
lead to disqualification.
6. The Video must be shot in a resolution of 720p or greater. It can be shot on any
device, a DSLR or a phone or a Point-and-Shoot camera.
Prizes: Cash prizes will be awarded for the first three positions.
Panorama
Rules:
1. This is an individual competition.
2. Any camera may be used. However it would be advisable to use a DSLR.
3. Each participant will have to submit a maximum of 10 photographs clicked during
the fest.
4. Participants may ask for the theme at the Control Tent / Info Kiosk.
5. The EXIF data shall be checked and plagiarism will be dealt severely.
6. Only basic photo editing is allowed i.e. cropping, adjusting the hue/saturation,
brightness, contrast levels. Photo morphing is strictly not allowed.
7. The participants will have to submit their photographs in a CD/DVD/Pen drive at
the control tent one hour before the start of the screening.
8. Aurora will not be responsible for any technical errors due to non-compatibility of
photos.
9. The decision of the judge shall be final and binding.
10. Aurora reserves the right to use the images on social media (suitable credits will
be given to the photographer).

A-Lit-Perform
“All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players” – William
Shakespeare
Dramatics and Open Mic gives physical, technical, creative, emotional, social and
artistic experience to the students involved and to those who make up the audience.
There is a huge adrenaline rush when you think of creating a stunning performance by
merely a couple of lines idea. They are all about reinventing yourself and telling the
world, so that they listen, in an astonishing and thought-provoking manner.

● Nukkad-Naatak

● Poetry-Slam
● Humorously Yours
In each of the events, the students will express themselves on a “social-cause” theme.
● Plan of conduct- Aarambh is all about starting to be the change. It involves performing
to increase the consciousness of people about the social cause. The Nukkad-Naatak event
will undertake the classical group performance. Further, Gesture will be the solo or
group mime performance. Open Mic will be solo performances by students of their
oratory skills. Poetry-Slam will involve self-composed poetry in both Hindi and English
by individuals and finally, Humorously Yours would be a comical satire act of ranting.
● Headlining- We plan to invite a group who are the epitome of performers in their field.
At the end, a headlining performance would be given by them.
● Target Institutions- Various Dramatics clubs from colleges from all over the nation.
We would also target individual students from these colleges who are very much talented
in poetry and stand-up performances.
Step Up
Dancing Mantra:-
This is a Solo dance competition. Here Display your individual brilliance, be the star of the
stage that’s all yours. The stage gives you the chance to flaunt your best moves and elegance.
This is your chance to free yourself and express the best.
Plan of Conduct:-
2. The list of selected solo performers for the final day will be announced on the day of
elimination itself.
3. After the elimination round participants of selected groups, and solo performers will
be given further directions regarding the performance .( submission of CD,
reporting time etc)
4. The participants are requested to bring two CDs of the song on which they will
perform.
5. Drapery or props are not compulsory for this round and shall not be considered as a
criteria for judging.
6. No extra time shall be given for installing CDs. It should be done prior to the event.
Judging Criteria: The dance performance will be judged on the following criteria
● Costumes
● Props used
● Expressions
● Choreography
● Coordination/ synchronization
● Interpretation of the theme/ Originality of the idea
● Time limit is max. 4minutes. Negative points for exceeding the time limit.

performance. Even remixes are allowed. Usage of props is allowed. These have to
be brought by the teams themselves but the organizers hold the discretion of
allowing it on stage.

In every crew, there's always that one dancer who just stands out, the superstar. The
solo TAKE THE STREET offers the floor to these striking galacticos. The best solo
dancer all over the India battle it out, one-on-one, to establish their supremacy in the
ultimate TAKE THE STREET in the history of IIIT’s LARGEST FEST AURORA’18
Plan of Conduct:-
Held in four Rounds:-
● Round 1 – Based on the total number of registrations received,
qualifying rounds of 1 minute each will be conducted to narrow the
field of competition to the top 16 contestants.
● Round 2 – 16 people will perform a minimum of 1 minute dance on
the Hip Hop Fiesta stage. Best 6 of them will proceed.
● Round 3 – The best 6 will be asked to perform a 1 minute piece. Top 2
of them will proceed.
● Round 4 – The 2 participants selected will have a face off. The
participant who will emerge victor in the face off will be the winner
of the competition.

Parivesh
Description:
The fashion show extravaganza will be one of the flagship events where students from
different varsities and domains will come forth to showcase their creativity and thinking
heights with the blasting show of beauty, fashion and boldness. This year we tend to
promote versatile Indian culture with a blend of uniqueness and creativity.
Team size-
Maximum 15 members which comprises of models and others including designers,
choreographers and makeup artists.
Plan of conduct:
Round(s): Elimination, Onstage.
Rules:
● Teams need to send a soft copy of their designs for the stage round and write-ups
explaining their designs for the stage round.
● Only the designs submitted during this round will be allowed to be worn by the
models in the stage round. Thus the submission should necessarily include the
designs for the stage round. The first round of eliminations shall be based on the
above listed submissions.
● Teams surviving the elimination round will be selected for the onstage round.
● Onstage round will also include incorporating a prop in your design given to you on
the spot. This will definitely test your creativity and adaptability.
● Designs used in onstage round must clearly reflect the blend of Indian culture with
unique ideas and creativity for modernizing the designs and giving a strong
statement for sense of fashion in future.
● Every member of the team will be given a contest number based on which his/her
judging will be done. So if one loses it he/she will not be given any points.
● The teams are responsible for their own music and sequence.
● All music files must be submitted to the organizers at least 3 days before the event.
● Lighting facility is to be availed. One person of the group can supervise the lighting;
else it will be up to the lights group.
● Fire and animals in any form will not be allowed on stage or the ramp.
● Vulgarity in any form will not be allowed in the competition. So if the team feels that
any stunt could be termed as vulgar, it would be best to speak of it to the organizer
before performing it on the stage.
● Organizers reserve the right to cancel any round and disqualify teams which do not
adhere to the rules.
● The decision of the judge will be considered the final one.
● Judging criteria will be based upon Depiction of Theme, Designing, Use of Props and
Accessories, Use of fabric, Ramp walk, Stage Presence, Poise, Overall Appearance,
Choreography, Music and Narration, Co-ordination and Overall Performance.
Corna
The Corna event will be one of the flagship events where multiple bands will compete amongst
each other to prove their mettle on the stage while rocking and winning the audience
with their stringing guitars and drums enthralling the audience. This will be a mega
event in itself which will also form one of the pro-nights.
Plan of conduct-
Several bands will be shortlisted for the on-site rounds on the basis of their gig videos that the
bands will be sharing with us. These bands will then compete among each other in the
preliminary round, from which four final bands will compete in the final showdown at
the Corna pronight.
Target Institutions-
Institutions all over India having their bands to perform in different colleges.

Coding is the most basic requirement in today’s technology driven world. It is needed in
every sphere of computer science. One should not only be able to read and write codes
but must also have an in-depth knowledge of the language. It develops logical thinking
and efficient problem solving capabilities. So to challenge your knowledge of languages
and programming sensibilities and aptitude, programming and aptitude quiz will be
conducted as a part of Samanway 2019

This quiz is performed in order to check IQ of a person. this is the first round for every
placement. So it will lead the students to get better marks and understanding at various
recruitment

3. BIT quiz
Being the students of an IT and managerial institute, we must be well aware of the
interrelation and interdependence of technology and business. They complement each
other. The growth of a business, to a great extent, depends on the technology it utilizes.
And technology, unless applied to a business opportunity provides no benefits of its
own. Thus the two inextricably interwoven.
Code of conduct
1. Only team entries are eligible.
2. A team shall consist of min two and max three persons
3. The participants shall not be allowed to use mobile or other electronic
instruments.
4. Each team would be asked 10 questions each.
5. Replacement of any participant after registration not allowed.

● Questions will be asked to every team one by one
● For each correct answer 10 marks
● 10 questions will be asked to each team
● In case of tie 2 questions more will be asked
Winner will be decided in this round

All the participants will be given certificates.
