Transactions
5.1 Introduction
Digital transactions refer to the process of exchanging goods, services, or other
assets through electronic means rather than through physical exchange or paper-based
processes. This form of transaction has become increasingly prevalent with the rise of the
internet and advancements in technology. Key components of digital transactions include
online banking, e-commerce shopping, mobile payments, and electronic funds transfers.
Digital transactions offer numerous advantages such as convenience, speed, and
accessibility, allowing users to perform financial operations and make purchases from
anywhere at any time with just a few clicks. Additionally, they enable real-time tracking of
transaction history and easier integration with accounting and financial management tools.
However, digital transactions also come with challenges, including security
concerns such as fraud and cyber attacks, issues with digital divide and accessibility, and the
need for robust regulatory frameworks to manage the evolving landscape. As technology
continues to advance, the scope and impact of digital transactions are expected to grow,
influencing how businesses and consumers interact in the global economy.
