CHAPTER 2
Activity 1- Contribution of any National Level Initiating of
Government of India: Swachh Bharath Abhiyan

2.1 Introduction
A clean India would be the best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150
birth anniversary in 2019, said Shri Narendra Modi as he launched the Swachh Bharat
Mission at Raj path in New Delhi. On 2nd October 2014, Swachh Bharat Mission was
launched throughout length and breadth of the country as a national movement. The
campaign aims to achieve the vision of a ‘Clean India’ by 2nd October 2019. PM’s speech at
the launch of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most
significant cleanliness campaign by the Government of India. Shri Narendra Modi led a
cleanliness pledge at India Gate, which about thirty lakh government employees across the
country joined. He also flagged off a walkathon at Rajpath and surprised people by joining in
not just for a token few steps, but marching with the participants for a long way. While
leading the mass movement for cleanliness, the Prime Minister exhorted people to fulfil
Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a clean and hygienic India. Shri Narendra Modi himself initiated
the cleanliness drive at Mandir Marg Police Station. Picking up the broom to clean the dirt,
making Swachh Bharat Abhiyan a mass movement across the nation, the Prime Minister said
people should neither litter, nor let others litter. He gave the mantra of 'Na gandagi karenge,
Na karne denge.' Shri Narendra Modi also invited nine people to join the cleanliness drive
and requested each of them to draw nine more into the initiative.

2.2 Swachh Bharath Abhiyan – Cleaning at Tilmati Beach

As part of the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) The Students of
Mechanical Engineering students Participated in the beach cleaning. This Program is held
with around 22 students with faculty and coordinators actively participated in the program.
The aim of this program was to spread awareness about the importance of keeping our
beaches clean and to encourage people to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness at
these places. During the clean-up, we collected a significant amount of waste, including
plastic bags, bottles, wrappers, and other debris that were polluting the beach.

CHAPTER 3
Activity 2- Van Mahotsav Programme

3.1 Introduction
Planting sampling refers to the practice of selectively planting certain species of plants
in an area in order to conserve energy. This technique can be used in a variety of contexts,
such as in agriculture, landscaping and urban planning.

3.2 Van Mahotsav Programme

India is a land of festivals. Likewise, it also has many festivals to celebrate the forests
and trees. One such special festival dedicated to forests is Van Mahotsav Day or the Forest
Day, which is celebrated from July 1 to July 7. It was started as a crusade with the aim to
save Planet Earth.
Planting sampling refers to the practice of selectively planting certain species of
plants in an area in order to conserve energy. This technique can be used in a variety of
contexts, such as in agriculture, landscaping, and urban planning.
One of the primary benefits of planting sampling is that it can reduce the need for
energy- intensive activities such as heating and cooling. For example, planting trees
strategically around a building can help to shade it during the summer months, reducing the
need for air conditioning. Similarly, planting windbreaks around a field can help to reduce
wind chill and protect crops, reducing the need for heating in greenhouses.
In addition to reducing the need for energy-intensive activities, planting sampling
can also help to sequester carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, which can help to mitigate the
effects of climate change. Certain species of plants are particularly effective at storing
carbon, and planting these species in strategic locations can help to offset greenhouse gas
emissions from other sources.

plants in the right locations, we can help to create a more sustainable future for ourselves and
for the planet.

CHAPTER 4
Activity 3- Spreading public awareness under rural
outreach programmes
4.1 Introduction
In the fabric of democracy, voting power is the golden thread that weaves citizens into
the tapestry of governance. Every vote cast is a voice heard, a choice made, and a step taken
towards shaping the collective destiny of a nation. However, the true significance of voting
power often remains obscured by apathy, misinformation, and systemic barriers. Thus, it
becomes imperative to embark on a concerted effort to spread public awareness about the
transformative potential inherent in every vote.

4.2 Spreading awareness about voting power

As part of the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) The Students of
Mechanical Engineering students Participated in the Awareness Program & Importance of
“Mathadana Jagruthi Abhiyan” at Majali. This Program is held with college students with
faculty and coordinators actively participated in the program. And we specially Thanks to the
Dr Shanthala Principal of GECK , Dr Shrinivasamurty M., HOD OF Mechanical Department
and Dr. Vasantkumar H. S. Coordinator of AICTE activity.
Additionally, voting contributes to the legitimacy of government and the stability of
democratic institutions. When citizens participate in free and fair elections, they affirm the
legitimacy of the democratic process and reinforce public trust in government. By contrast,
low voter turnout or voter apathy can undermine the credibility of democratic institutions and
erode public confidence in the political system.
Finally, voting is a means of honouring the sacrifices made by past generations to
secure the right to vote. Throughout history, individuals have fought and even died for the
right to participate in democratic elections. By exercising their right to vote, citizens honour
the legacy of those who came before them and uphold the principle of civic responsibility for
future generations.
In conclusion, voting is not only a fundamental right but also a powerful tool for
promoting social justice, political accountability, and democratic governance. By engaging in

the electoral process, citizens contribute to the vitality and resilience of democracy, ensuring
that government remains of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Figure 4.2 Awareness rally at Majali village

4.4 Summary
In conclusion, spreading public awareness about voting power is not merely a civic obligation
but a moral imperative. It is the cornerstone upon which the edifice of democracy stands tall, sturdy,
and unyielding. Through education, engagement, and empowerment, we pave the way for a future
where every citizen embraces their role as architects of change, stewards of democracy, and guardians
of liberty. Let us, therefore, unite in our commitment to empower democracy, one vote at a time.

CHAPTER 5
Activity 4- Facilitating 100% Digitized Money
Transactions
5.1 Introduction
Digital transactions refer to the process of exchanging goods, services, or other
assets through electronic means rather than through physical exchange or paper-based
processes. This form of transaction has become increasingly prevalent with the rise of the
internet and advancements in technology. Key components of digital transactions include
online banking, e-commerce shopping, mobile payments, and electronic funds transfers.
Digital transactions offer numerous advantages such as convenience, speed, and
accessibility, allowing users to perform financial operations and make purchases from
anywhere at any time with just a few clicks. Additionally, they enable real-time tracking of
transaction history and easier integration with accounting and financial management tools.
However, digital transactions also come with challenges, including security
concerns such as fraud and cyber attacks, issues with digital divide and accessibility, and the
need for robust regulatory frameworks to manage the evolving landscape. As technology
continues to advance, the scope and impact of digital transactions are expected to grow,
influencing how businesses and consumers interact in the global economy.

5.2 Digitized Money Transactions

The Government of India has been undertaking several measures to promote and
encourage digital payments in the country. As part of the 'Digital India' campaign, the
government has an aim to create a digitally empowered economy that is "Faceless, Paperless,
Cashless. There are various types and methods of digital payments. Please note that digital
payments can take place on the internet as well as on physical premises. For example, if you
buy something from Amazon and pay for it via UPL, it qualifies as a digital payment.
Similarly, if you purchase something from your local store and choose to pay via UPI instead
of handing over cash that also is a digital payment.
