Who am I

Born at Lucban, Quezon the place where the famous Pahiyas Festival was held yearly as a thanksgiving tradition where townsfolk decorated their houses with fruits, vegetables and the colorful edible rice wafers known as Kiping, on the 28th day of June,1991 a pleasant and a blessed day for Mr. Dominador Abulad, Abustan and Mrs. Jocelyn Abustan for they were given this cute little baby at exactly 3:15 in the afternoon which then named Doms Jeruel Abustan, a name taken from my fathers nickname Doms and a combination of two bible character Jeremiah and Samuel Jer + uel = Jeruel that day was remarkable in South California and a significant year on the Philippines where an earthquake struck the majority of towns in Luzon. But thats over its been two decades. Now Im 20 years old, 5.10ft tall and 130lbs heavy with thick black hair and a fair complexion still residing at Lucban, Quezon and now a student and couturier-in one specializing in costume designs and formal wears. I am from a family of nine members and I am on middle. My Parents Mr. Dominador Abulad Abustan born on November 5,1967, a former seaman but now a security guard on a private company son of Mr. Miguel Abustan and Benita Abulad, and Mrs. Jocelyn Empleo Abustan born on March 5, 1967 a History graduate but an aspiring preschool teacher specializing in childrens with special needs daughter of Mr. Severino Empleo and Mrs. Emiliana Avila. They both resides in Lucban, Quezon, whats interesting is that they are both the youngest son and daughter of these two family they become married at the age of seventeen but see how well they raise me and my siblings namely, John Richard Abustan, Dianne Charish Abustan, Jennadel Abustan, me, Jepreel Abustan, Jemimah Abustan and Joshua Abustan. John Richard Abustan the eldest born on April 1, 1986, 23 yrs old before he died, a computer genius but now already with our creator due to a heart ailment that struck him while working on an Internet Caf. Dianne Charish Abustan second to the eldest born on June 1, 1987 25yrs old, an aspiring Elementary teacher studying at Southern Luzon State University and now on her third year. Jennadel Abustan third to the eldest born on January 23, 1990, 21yrs old, my engineer sister taking up her fourth year in Computer Engineering at the same school mentioned she was my sister closest to me because I was born just a year later. Jepreel Abustan third to the youngest born April 1, 1993 18yrs old and the one to take up Civil engineering, we are often misidentified as twins because of the very close similarity to the feature of our appearance. The next to the youngest was Jemimah

Abustan second to the youngest born October 22, 1995 a remarkable date to me well it just remind me of someones special birthday , shes 15yrs old, an honor student at Paaralang Sekundarya ng Lucban with great memorizing and dancing skills. Lastly Joshua Abustan youngest of all born on February 4, 2004 7yrs old my cute, clumsy, talented and creative little brother whose always putting up a commotion with me by simply messing up with all my things. From these you can conclude that we are a big family, and yes we are a big happy family though sometimes we experience shortage we still remain strong as one. Schooling was a very big part of my personality development, this was the time of great downfall and success. My schooling was indeed a bit interesting because I really started schooling at the age of 5 without even experiencing day care, I study my nursery days at Nakamura Kiddie Center at SLPC( now SLSU) and my elementary years at the same school. But when high school finally comes on my way I was not that lucky enough to pass the highschool entrance examination at SLSU so I ended up attending Paaralang Sekundarya ng Lucban but it was really a challenge for me because from the start. I really dont want to go into that school because of the impression given to the students attending it and for the very reason I simply dont like it. But that impression to my Alma Mater was changed when I began my high school days at the said secondary school, thats when I start receiving recognitions and gaining more friends and realizing my worth and discovering my hidden talents and skills. Before in my elementary days, I was used to be an outcast, a person of criticism and fictitious names. I was then called Blackberry( Duhat) and Charcoal (uling) because of my complexion not comparable to them although some of them was really not that fair enough and well doesnt have the right to criticize me for I think I was better than them maybe they were just fond of bullying people whose not that rich, but that horrible day is over, thanks to my Alma mater Paaralang Sekundarya ng Lucban and my teachers they are the one who molds me and helps me face the world with confidence. Speaking of confidence I have a lot of it and a really great help in my field of interests it helped me gain costumers in my career as a couturier. I am able to face them with a proud smile and a good presence thus I was able to win competitions and gain recognitions by others. In that very little thing it helped me a lot not only on my financial aspect but also in social needs, Indeed I am now more sociable, usually I was shy before but now I am not, I even join dance troupes and enjoy dancing to ballroom dances and Jazz my favorite form of dance . Well on the field of favorites I really love Taylor Swift especially her song Mean it really brings back all the bad things happened to me as well as the transitions of my very dear

self from being an outcast to a proud and a better person, by the way she sang that song I really admired it because I am not fond of loud music the one with mellow melody and clear words really fascinated my ears, though sometimes I listen to different types of music especially when it comes to dancing. Cravings? In terms of food I dont have a specific food to be my favorite I just love almost any food but it really wakes my appetite whenever I see fresh green vegetable salad with lettuce. I love vegetables especially Bottle gourd I usually eat in fron of a television watching T.V. programs and often times Movies. Movies? I dont even had one to be on the top list but I really love animated movies especially those with animal characters oftentimes documentaries and history based togh sometimes the color wasnt vivid enough to be clearly recognized. You can see me walking the streets with simple comfortable shorts and top usually in color blue. I just love the shades of blue, it gives that feeling of calmness and peace due to my hectic schedule as a student and a clothing artist and it really reflects my personality, though sometimes I am unpredictable more often jolly, and really loves being different, I usually go the other way or another in terms of fashion, I dont stick with whats in because for me fashion is when you are confident enough to present yourself in public whether they like it or not as long as youre comfortable just go with it, no one can play your role better than you thats my motto in life for now. But for now after a three year self introspection on the things that I really want, I ended up studying at Southern Luzon State University taking bachelor in Secondary education major in English because since Elementary I really want to be a teacher, I just dont know why I am in the line of clothing today, I just then woke up designing clothes, constructing patterns and competing with other designers. But for now I set my first goal to finish my college study and become a licensed Secondary school teacher in my chosen specialization and that is being a teacher in English. Second to improve my skills in designing for me to establish my own clothing line someday if god permits me to do so. Third to find my special girl to love and love me too so that I will be able to accomplish my fourth goal to have a family. Fifth to establish clothing company. And my lifetime goal, to be successful, a responsible father and husband, a law abiding citizen of the Philippines and to serve god with my family. I am just a simple person if you will have a chance to meet me you would never think that I am the guy to fit on these descriptions, thats merely because I am unique, I am myself and this is who I am.
