Subject Area of Specialization

TITLE OF PROJECT OR ACTIVITY: “My Tassel Earrings with Hoops”


Performance Objectives:
1. Identify necessary materials to be used in your own tassel earrings with hoops.
2. Observe the importance of materials’ accuracy at work.
3. Create your own tassel earrings with hoops.

Performance Standards: The learners shall be able to create their own tassel
earrings
with hoops.
Learning Competencies:
 Prepare basic tools and materials in fashion accessories
 Carry out mensuration
 Follow procedures in creating their earrings
 Maintain Occupational Health and Safety

Supplies/Materials:
DMC or any embroidery thread (any color), 2 hoop earrings (as big
as 10-peso coin or 5-peso coin)

Equipment/Tools:
ruler, scissor, clear glue (optional), comb (optional)

Use the GRASPS Model:

Goal: The goal of the learner is to create their own tassel earrings with hoops.

Role: The learner will act as a designer in a fashion accessory store.

Audience: Client (teachers and students) in a fashion accessory store.

Situation: A client/teacher came and ask you (the student) to create a customized
tassel earrings with hoops.

Product, Performance and Purpose: The learner will create the tassel earrings with
hoops.

Standard/Criteria: The learner will be rated accordingly in the following: Creativity;


Appearance; Accuracy, Time management and Safety practice observed on the
required performance standards.

STEPS/PROCEDURE/GUIDELINES:
General Guidelines:
1. The performance-based assessment is consisting of 100 points.
2. The performance-based assessment will last for one (1) hour.
3. Learners will be divided into two groups. Set A & B. In day 1, Set A will do the
Performance-based Assessment (PBA) while SET B will do the written exam and
vice versa on the next day.
4. Each learners have a copy of rubric.
5. The learners who will perform the PBA will be assigned to a specific area.

Steps in Setting-up the working area:


1. Clean the assigned table.
2. Prepare the materials and tools needed.
Steps in creating the tassel earrings with hoops
1. Measure and cut the thread (6 inches).
2. Take one of your equal parts or as many as necessary thread and create an adjustable
sliding knot around your hoop earring.
3. Secure tightly and trim tassel to desired length.
4. Repeat steps, adding as many tassels as you want.
5. Remove unnecessary marks.
6. Comb and spread glue on the thread (optional).
