INSTALLATION CEILING GUIDE

WORK • Apply leveling hose or a leveling laser to level

every corner of the ceiling wall to determine the
EXECUTION perimeter height to ensure that the ceiling
installation is even. After that, set a guideline for
it.
• Attach the wall angle to the perimeter wall by a
concrete nail or any fastening materials.
• Fix & align accurately the steel angle with
maximum interval of 1220 mm (4ft).
• Tie the suspension rod securely to the steel angle.
3. WORK PROCEDURE

WORK • Attach the carrying channel to the

suspension clip using rod joiner.
EXECUTION • Connect the furring channel to carrying
channel using the w-clip. Furring channel
can be spaced at 406 mm or 16 inch. up to
610 mm or 24 inch
• Ceiling boards (gypsum board) are
attached to the furring by gypsum screw.

SUSPENDED CEILING
WORK • Apply leveling hose or a leveling laser to level every
corner of the ceiling wall to determine the perimeter
EXECUTION height to ensure that the ceiling installation is even. After
that, set a guideline for it.
• Attach the wall angle to the perimeter wall by using a
screws, stub nails or drywall fasteners depending on the
wall type.
• The ceiling is to be set out from the center to balance the
width of the boards at the perimeter. Center to center
distance for main runners and cross tees at 2ft x 2ft or 2ft
x 4ft
• Maximum distance from wall to first hanger is 2ft.

INSTALLATION OF STEEL FRAMING

FOR SUSPENDED CEILING
WORK
• Main tees (main runners) are joined together by
EXECUTION inserting a tab on the end of one section into a
slot in the adjoining section
• Cross tees are inserted in slots in the main tees
and locked in position with minimal downward
force
• When all sections have been installed,
adjustment can be made to ensure that the whole
suspension is leveled.

METHODS OF GYPSUM BOARD

APPLICATION
WORK A. Measure the dimensions using tape meter.
EXECUTION B. Once the ceiling framing is complete. Black screws
are used to secure the boards to the furring channel.
C. Boards must be cut either by scoring and breaking
or by sawing.
D. Mark the placement of light fixtures and vents on
the drywall.
E. Cut edges should be smoothed to obtain neat joints
when installed
3. WORK PROCEDURE

METHODS OF GYPSUM BOARD

APPLICATION

WORK F. Raise the first piece of gypsum board to the ceiling.

Make sure that the tapered edges of the sheet are facing
EXECUTION the floor
G. Repeat the process along the wall, always ensure that
the tapered edges touch one another and are facing
down.
- The tapered edges are designed to make the process
of taping and mudding easier, so it’s should be remain
facing down
H. Permanently fasten the gypsum board to the ceiling
joists. Place the fasteners 7 inches (18 cm) apart along
the perimeter, 0.375 inches (0.95 cm) from the edges of

METHODS OF GYPSUM BOARD

APPLICATION
WORK
I. Start the second row with a half sheet of drywall to
EXECUTION stagger the seams.
- Using a utility knife, cut through the board at the
vertical midpoint of the drywall sheet after measuring
and marking the cut line. The panel should be tipped off
the ground or table at a little angle, then pushed down
to split it in half.
- Use the same procedure to attach this half-piece of
drywall as you used on the first row of drywall.
3. WORK PROCEDURE

METHODS OF GYPSUM BOARD

APPLICATION
WORK
J. Repeat the process until the entire ceiling is
EXECUTION covered. Make sure to stagger the seams to
ensure the drywall’s stability
K. Short edges should be chamfered
L. Create holes where vents, lights, and electrical
boxes are marked after the drywall has set. To
make the cutting procedure quick and simple,
use a spiral cutout saw.
