역의 로고는 뜨거운 물과 그 안에 증기가 있는 집이다.[2]아파틀라코는 "약탕의 장소"[2]를 의미하는 나후아틀어다.이 역은 1994년 7월 20일에 개통되었다.[5]
2009년 봄 신종플루 공포가 한창일 때 기차역의 승객들의 탑승률이 하락했다.[6]
