History[edit | edit source]
Early history[edit | edit source]
Saradomin saw to her being educated in Saradominist statecraft by the finest tutors of New Domina[4] on Hallow, the Icyene homeworld.
Abduction[edit | edit source]
Adrasteia's existence was first revealed if the player raced Saradomin and he reached the Stone of Jas first. She was kidnapped by Nex from a planet under the control of a group called the Obsidian Tribunal to use as a bargaining chip, in case Saradomin won the Stone of Jas, and was placed under Nex's guard.
Depending on the player's actions, prior to the events of Sliske's Endgame, Seren's agents may have discovered her and retrieved her from Zaros's control, believing him to be too dangerous, albeit with the same intent of using her as a tool to keep the Stone out of Saradomin's hands. If players speak with Saradomin about it afterwards, he says that Adrasteia has been returned to him and that she is now safe.
Adrasteia is mentioned in the Finale miniquest during Meg's flashback.
Search for Seren[edit | edit source]
“ | Allow me to present my daughter, Adrasteia. | ” |
— Saradomin |
Adrasteia made her way to Senntisten following Zamorak's withdrawal from the battlefield, first introducing herself as Hebe, the name of the famed Icyene heroine, only revealing herself as Saradomin's daughter when inside the Senntisten Cathedral. Having become aware of the threat of the Elder Gods, Adrasteia offered her help in putting an end to it despite her father's wish to keep her out of harm's way on Hallow. She accompanied the World Guardian along with Moia, Vicendithas and Hannibus to various worlds across the universe in an attempt to find Seren after she disappeared with the eggs of the Elder Gods.
Zamorak's Demon Invasion[edit | edit source]
Following the end of the Elder God Wars, Saradomin held audiences with his subjects, at Adrasteia's behest, in order to offer reparations and make amends. However, it was around the same time that Zamorak launched a demonic invasion across the various cities of Gielinor. Out of options, the World Guardian proposed re-establishing the Edicts of Guthix, an act that would banish Zamorak and all the other gods from Gielinor. Adrasteia objected to the plan, but ultimately understood it was the only way to stop Zamorak.
Re-established Edicts[edit | edit source]
Eventually, Azzanadra's agents found the Zamorakian Undercity, and through it, a way for the World Guardian to breach the Wilderness Crater, where Zamorak had entrenched himself. Adrasteia directed the World Guardian there, where they successfully banished Zamorak and re-established the Edicts. Saradomin began to feel their pull and used his remaining time on Gielinor to address the people of Gielinor and announce that he was appointing Adrasteia as the Basilissa of the Kingdoms, his successor and regent of the human kingdoms in his place. Having used the last of his strength, Saradomin departed Gielinor after Adrasteia bid him farewell.
“ | Goodbye, Basilissa. I could not be more proud of you. | ” |
— Saradomin |
Zamorakian Civil War[edit | edit source]
After the gods have once again been banished, Adrasteia asked the World Guardian along with Anne Dimitri to investigate Moia following her killing of Varrockian border patrols in the Wilderness. By the time she's finally informed of the situation, she awaits further intel from Anne in what occurs of the sudden civil war.
In some short time, Adrasteia receives a missive from Anne, and sends the World Guardian to see her, and await once again what transpires in the Wilderness.
In the short few months that have passed, before the day of a coronation, the World Guardian warns that the civil war has ended with Bilrach's forces on top. Disappointed and worried she becomes, knowing now that Bilrach has set his sight towards rest of the world.
Sabotaging Bilrach and becoming Basilissa[edit | edit source]
Nervous to soon become Basilissa, Adrasteia requests the World Guardian to escort her to where Bilrach's forces have recently gone, the first of those places being the dreadful prison of The Zamorakian Undercity. After some investigation as to what happened, she deduces General Khazard and his men were transporting something important. She then suggests to head to the Menaphos Library, of which she believes Enakhra was recently there, tearing through books. From within, Adrasteia and the World Guardian learn books relating to corruption, souls, and The Magister were in use. Visiting a now vacant chamber, both find that something happened to The Magister, from necromantic activity, to fragments missing from the soul obelisk, up towards what appears to be some scuffle where magic took place. Taking a first-time journey to the soul altar, a meeting with Ka reveals some people recently entered, whom sullied the very fabrics of and around the altar.
Personal investigation accomplished, Adrasteia re-enacts the event between Vengeance and Magister Oreb, leading down to his defeat. Knowing the full picture of the Zamorakians newest goal, the two retreat to Falador to plan their next move. From the throne room, Anne reports the latest Wilderness activity, particularly being some recruitment going on in the Mage Arena. Deciding how to proceed, Adrasteia and the World Guardian begin to prepare for infiltration into Bilrach's forces, with some recently surfaced argonite.
Equipped with surfaced argonite gear, the two are initiated into Bilrach's forces under his nose. A final investigation is conducted to discover what Bilrach has done, to Kolodion's apparent defeat, that Bilrach has created a devastating weapon to empower him and wipe out any and all souls around the world. Rushing into the caves, Gielinor's two last hopes quickly find Bilrach's creation, and do what they can to stop his plans from coming to fruition. Using whatever they find in the cave, they manage to sabotage the ritual marker, and split-up to retreat to safety in Falador. Since then, when Bilrach was none the wiser, his ritual failed, everything he built for blown up in his face.
Threat averted, thus becomes the day of Adrasteia's coronation. Andronikos crowns her Basilissa, and she presents herself to her people, addressing her promise to the kingdoms, and sharing with them a song. Unknown to her, a new dire situation happened, a final battle between Moia, and Bilrach. His remaining warriors snuffed out by her hand, as the Hallow song echoed, was a deciding fate between Mahjarrat and half-breed. From that day as Adrasteia succeeded a throne, so too did Moia.
