Saoirse Ronan's dapper husband Jack Lowden does his James Bond hopes no harm at all as he graces the Golden Globes red carpet in a black tuxedo

Saoirse Ronan's husband Jack Lowden did his chances of becoming the next James Bond no harm at all as he modelled a black tuxedo at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

The actor, 34 - whose name regularly features among the candidates to replace Daniel Craig - cut an elegant figure as he work a black asymmetrical dinner jacket which he paired with tailored trousers.

He layered his two piece over a crisp white shirt which he tied together with a small black dickie bow.

Jack completed his ensemble with a lilac flower pin on his lapel and a pair of shiny black leather shoes.

To accessorise, the Dunkirk star, finished his slick look with a black and chrome Omega watch and a gold ring.

His appearance comes after his wife Saoirse revealed the moment she realised husband Jack was the person she was going to marry.

The couple, who started dating in 2018, tied the knot earlier this year in an intimate ceremony in Edinburgh, Scotland.

But Saoirse, 30, said that if it wasn't for Jack's appreciation of her big appetite, she joked that he may not have been 'the one'.

Speaking on Ruthie's Table 4 podcast, the Little Women star said: 'Jack loves how much I love food.

'I was eating a burger and I was like, "What are you looking at?".

'He said, "I'm watching you eat that because you're getting so much out of it." That was when I knew.'

Saoirse and Jack met while filming Mary Queen Of Scots and secretly married in July this year after six years together

The actress has remained fiercely private about their relationship and does not have a social media presence, but gave a small insight during a new interview.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in October, the star joked that her husband keeps disappointing her by refusing to perform a 'cheesy karaoke duet' of her choice.

Saoirse said: 'I've been desperate for myself and my husband Jack to do a cheesy karaoke duet.

'It's Shallow from A Star is Born. I want him to be my Bradley, and I'll be his Gaga. And he won't do it. He hasn't committed.

'And I'm sort of like, well, what's marriage for? You know what I mean? What are we doing here?'

It comes after the actress recently joked about her 'baby' with Jack in rare discussion about their relationship.

Speaking on the Ryan Tubridy Show on Virgin Radio UK on Wednesday, she said it's very much 'here we go again'.

'We've been together a long time, and we've had a really busy year with work,' Saoirse explained.

She continued: 'We have the Outrun out as well, which is a movie that we produced together and that's kind of our baby right now.

'So we're putting a lot of time and our energy into that and we're incredibly proud and excited about the reception that that's gotten.

'That's still in the cinemas now as well for anyone who wants to go and see it. Again, I would really urge anyone to take the time out to go and see it in the cinema.

'And yeah, we're doing great - he’s doing the washing right now.'

She recently told British Vogue: 'I became successful when I was quite young. So it meant that, actually, by the time I found my partner, I’m now at the stage where, if it happened, I would like to have a kid.

'I feel fortunate enough that, if I step out of this for a minute, I’m hopefully not giving it up forever. But, yeah, I’ve always wanted that.'

Saoirse played the titular role while Jack played Lord Darnley, the Queen's second husband, known for his salacious sexual nature. Their on-screen romance foreshadowed what was to come, and they started dating in December 2018.
