Così mi sono incuriosita e quando ho trovato questo ebook in offerta non ci ho pensato due volte.
In realtà se mi fossi informata meglio prima non avrei comprato questo libro. Perché, sebbene mi piaccia l'horror, odio lo splatter, e questo libro è super splatter. Ciò non toglie che questi racconti siano eccezionali e, cosa poco comune per una raccolta di racconti, la qualità è omogeneamente alta, senza alcun tipo di sbavatura, senza racconti meno riusciti.
I miei preferiti sono "Un buio diverso", "La foresta, i bivi", "La copia" e anche lo splatterissimo "Il corpo", in ordine di gradimento.
In "Un buio diverso", un uomo perde la propria bambina di 5 anni al supermercato e, insieme alla moglie, viene risucchiato in un abisso di disperazione che si fa fisico.
"La foresta, i bivi" è ambientato quasi interamente in Romania, dove una coppia si reca per turismo dentale: lei ha gravi problemi di denti e decide di farsene impiantare di nuovi in una clinica romena economicissima. Il marito non lavora, ma è un appassionato di vampiri e di tutto ciò che è misterioso, perciò quando hanno un giorno libero non ci pensa due volte ad andare insieme alla moglie a visitare una misteriosa foresta nelle vicinanze della clinica.
"La copia" è un classico racconto sul doppio/Doppelgänger, dove un tranquillo impiegato sembra trasformarsi nella versione peggiore di sé, mettendo in pratica quello che, si dice nel racconto, in tanti sognano ma solo in pochi hanno il coraggio di mettere in pratica.
Infine, "Il corpo" è un racconto horror-fantascientifico, in cui gli uomini sono costretti a vivere su Marte dopo aver praticamente distrutto la Terra. A un certo punto l'enorme corpo di un vecchio entra nella loro atmosfera, portando delirio e distruzione.
Veramente complimenti a Luigi Musolino, autore straordinario, che sa scrivere benissimo e sa catturare l'attenzione del lettore portandolo con sé nei peggiori abissi del delirio. Non credo che leggerò altri suoi libri, perché veramente non vado d'accordo con lo splatter, ma porterò questo libro nei miei incubi per molto tempo....more

Anche la scrittura è malata, nel senso che corre impazzita di qua e di là e richiede concentrazione ma al tempo stesso non consente troppe pause.
Ojeda è fantastica come scrittrice, con un'inventiva eccezionale e una penna appuntita e micidiale. Sono indecisa se voglio leggere tutto quello che ha scritto o se voglio chiuderla qui con tutto questo. Ma penso che approfondirò.
Si capisce fin dall'inizio che siamo di fronte a una storia complessa e che le protagoniste non sono proprio a posto. Del resto, il romanzo si apre sulla scena di una baita nella quale Fernanda si trova legata, mentre la sua sequestratrice passa lo straccio come se niente fosse. Tuttavia, per parecchie pagine non ho avuto la chiara concezione di quanto fosse complessa, stratificata, sfaccettata e (di nuovo) malata questa storia. C'è veramente del morboso, ma quello che terrorizza nella storia è che, seppure portato agli estremi, quello che viene raccontato non è così inverosimile. Ripeto, estremizzato sicuramente, ma c'è una base di verosimiglianza che inquieta follemente.
Non conosco bene gli scrittori horror latinoamericani (eccetto Silvia Moreno-Garcia, che però non scrive solo horror), ma lo scrittore a cui ho pensato leggendo questo romanzo è l'italianissimo Luigi Musolino.
