Keep On Moving
Creative, inclusive and good value ways of working North East We had a lively and interesting Keep on Moving event in Newcastle recently with different workshops around Hate Crime, Pass it on Parents and Personal Budgets for Children, A Life Stages Approach to Services, using film clips to share skill and look at shared management for personal budgets.

Yorkshire and Humber We are holding another Keep on Moving event on 7th February in York 10am 3pm This event is free to Inclusion North member areas, and each area can send up to 5 people. People from non-member groups can attend either of these events at a cost of 50 per person if places are available. North East Health Groups


Inclusion North and NHS North East are holding two meetings for family carers and people with learning disabilities to give their views about health services and hear what work has been going on across the NHS to make services better for people with learning disabilities and their families. The North East Health Group for Carers Tuesday 15th January 2013 11am - 2pm Central Square, Newcastle The North East Health Group for Self Advocates Wednesday 16th January 2013 10am - 12.30 Health Group 1pm - 2pm Health Quality Checkers - Regional Discussion Central Square, Newcastle These meetings will give people a chance to have their say about the joint health and social care framework. Building Capacity for Individual Service Designs in our region


A joint event between NEAC and the NETS(work) This is an opportunity to hear about the work of NEACs Individual Service Design (ISD) project and is targeted at senior people in provider agencies, with the authority to bring about positive changes in their own organisation. IHaL - New report accompanying the Winterbourne View final report


A new study using data from the annual Count-Me-In censuses of people in mental healthcare hospital beds specifically for people with learning disabilities has been published. The census was done each year from 2006 to 2010 and covered all NHS funded care, whether provided by the NHS or in the independent sector. The study shows wide variations in both quality and the extent of use of these hospitals. For more details on the project page click here www.ihal.org.uk/projects/ipbch

The Abuse in Care? Project Hull University


Hull university is doing a project about abuse in care. As part of the project they have done a guide on early indicators of concern in residential services for people with learning disabilities.
