 visualizes and represents and measures area using appropriate units

 perform accurately in visualizing and representing and measuring areas using
appropriate units
 identify the measures area using appropriate units

Cooperation, acceptance, and respect
III. Produce

Teacher activity Student’s activity

A. Preliminary activities
1. Prayer
( Pupils will stand up and pray)
Okay, class stand up and let us pray.
Good Morning teacher Jessalyn

moo Old Mac Donald had a farm EIEIO.

C. LESSON PROPER

Okay class I have the same picture.

The table ( student )

has a Square Centimeter/ sq.cm

The Paper
Square centimeter/ sq.cm

The Notebook
Square centimeter/sq.cm

The area is defined as the total space taken up

by an object’s flat (2-D) surface or shape. Take a
pencil and draw a square on a piece of paper. It
is a 2-D figure. The space the shape takes up on
the paper is called its Area. Now, imagine your
square is made up of smaller unit squares.
A square is a regular polygon having four equal
sides and equal angles that measure 90° each
A rectangle is a closed 2-D shape, having 4
sides, 4 corners, and 4 right angles (90°). The
opposite sides of a rectangle are equal and
parallel. Since a rectangle is a 2-D shape, it is
characterized by two dimensions, length, and
width. Length is the longest dimension of a
figure and it shows how long the given object
or figure is. The distance from side to side. the
line that connects two points of a shape.

Class! so How do we get the area?

And how do we know the shape it is a square
or a rectangle? (Student answer)
Teacher it because it has a different shape
Very Good Class

Okay class we are going to know how to

measure the length, and width and if the shape
is square or rectangle.

D. APPLICATION
Activity 1 find the length and width

Activity 1 find the length and width

1. how many areas of the cube?
2. what is the length of the cube?
3. what is the width of the cube?
4. what kind of shape?
5. what is the length and with?
1. how many areas of cube 9
2. what is the length of the cube 3
3. what is the width of cube 3
4. what kind of shape square
5. what is the length and with?
Length is the longest dimension of a figure
Width is the shorter distance of an object or
a figure

E. GENERALIZATION

How do we know the length and width?

To know the shape and the area of the square

or the rectangle, you need to know the shape
and area, count on both sides, and you will get
how the side length and width.

F. EVALUATION

Class get your notebook and answer this

activity please pass your activity now.
1. count the area
2. count the length
3. count the width
4. what is the shape

G. ASSIGNMENT
Class gets your notebook And answer this
activity notebook, Draw a square and
rectangle and write the area, length, and
width.
