How SOs, PIs, and CLOs are linked:

• SO: is student outcome, indicates the ability a student is

supposed to gain by the time he graduates
• PI: performance indicator, evaluates the success of the
activity of learning the SO.
• PIs are present in each course and are linked to course
learning outcomes
• Many courses contribute to SOs, but few are selected as
keys courses through which an SO can be evaluated

modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering,
x x x
and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering
problems appropriate to the discipline;
1. an ability to design systems, components, or
processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined x x x
engineering problems appropriate to the discipline;
1. an ability to apply written, oral, and graphical
communication in broadly-defined technical and non-
x x x x
technical environments; and an ability to identify and
use appropriate technical literature;
1. an ability to conduct standard tests, measurements,
and experiments and to analyze and interpret the x x x x x
results to improve processes; and
