1.0 SUBJECT
This section provide the Contractor with instructions for testing and performing
preliminary checks on the electrical heaters.

2.0 GENERAL

2.1 Instruments used in testing


1. 500 V Megger
2. Tester

2.2 Requirements and limitations to be respected.


- The Contractor shall carry out all works of assembling, inspections, testings,
repairing, etc., necessary to prepare the heaters for commissioning
operations.
- The preliminary tests required, comply with the IEC standards and the
manufacturer's instructions.
- All control and signaling cables will be connected to a temporary terminal
board..
- The heater can not be fed if the insulation heater is less than 10 Mohm.

3.0 CHECKS

It's assumed that the following test operation can start only after the heaters
assembly completion and connection and with power off.
- Power and auxiliary switches pulled out and opened.
-. Check the plate data ratings verifying the correspondence with the project
data. Verify also the fitness of the heater with the voltage that will be applied.
- Check the condition of preservation, the correct assembly and the electrical
connections.
- Verify the grounding connection.

-Check the power supply cable insulation.


- Verify the continuity of the electrical heater.
- Check the continuity and insulation of control and signaling cables.

4.0 FINAL SETUP

The heater and accessory will be consigned for the commissioning operations,
in the following conditions:
- All control and signaling cables connected on the temporary terminal board
and tested.
- All power cables connected and tested.
- The power and auxiliary switches pulled out and opened.
- Grounding connections tightened and tested.

5.0 ANNEXES

The annex to prove by documents the preparing and performing of the tests is
the following:
