이 유전자에 의해 암호화된 단백질은 간섭자 알파와 베타 수용체의 두 개의 사슬 중 하나를 형성하는 I형 막 단백질입니다.수용체의 결합 및 활성화는 야누스 단백질 키나제를 자극하여 STAT1 및 STAT2를 포함한 여러 단백질을 인산화한다.이 [6]유전자에 대해 적어도 2개의 다른 아이소폼을 코드하는 복수의 전사 변이가 발견되었다.
