Day is a former Democratic member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives. She represented the Rockingham 13 District from 2006 to 2010.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. Judith E. Day was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Michele Peckham was unopposed in the Republican primary. Day and Peckham faced off in the general election.[5] Incumbent Peckham defeated Day in the general election, and was re-elected for another term.[6]

On November 4, 2008, Day ran for the Rockingham District 13 of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, winning the fifth of eight seats with 7,009 votes.[9]
