You married men must love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her,

so as to train the younger women to be affectionate wives and mothers,

To the people already married I give this instruction -- no, not I but the Lord -- that a wife is not to leave her husband.

You married women must continue to live in subordination to your husbands, as you do to the Lord,

As far as I am concerned about you, my brothers, I am convinced that you especially are abounding in the highest goodness, richly supplied with perfect knowledge and competent to counsel one another.

I do not write this to make you blush with shame but to give you counsel as my dear children.

You parents, too, must stop exasperating your children, but continue to bring them up with the sort of education and counsel the Lord approves.

Let the message of Christ continue to live in you in all its wealth of wisdom; keep on teaching it to one another and training one another in it with thankfulness, in your hearts singing praise to God with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.

We beg you, brothers, continue to warn the shirkers, to cheer the faint-hearted, to hold up the weak, and to be patient with everybody.

And anyone who listens to my words and does not practice their teaching, will be like an imprudent man who built his house on sand.

To the overscrupulous I have become overscrupulous, to win the overscrupulous; yes, I have become everything to everybody, in order by all means to save some of them.

For when I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, when I was thirsty you gave me something to drink, when I was a stranger you welcomed me to your homes, when I needed clothes you put them on me, when I was sick you looked after me, when I was in prison you came to see me.'

Do the opposite. If your enemy is hungry, give him something to eat. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink, for if you act in this way, you will heap burning coals upon his head!

But I tell you, practice loving your enemies and praying for your persecutors,

But if you really observe the law of the King in accordance with the Scripture, "You must love your neighbor as you do yourself," you are doing right;

And this is the second, 'You must love your neighbor as you do yourself.' No other command is greater than these."

Love never does a wrong to one's neighbor; so love is the perfect satisfaction of the law.

It is the duty of us who are strong to bear with the weaknesses of those who are not strong, and not merely to please ourselves. Each one of us must practice pleasing his neighbor, to help in his immediate upbuilding for his eternal good.

Then you must practice dealing with others as you would like for them to deal with you, for this is the summing up of the law and the prophets.

May the Lord make you increase and overflow in love for one another and for all men, as my love for you does,

You must let your brotherly love continue.

Take care that none of you ever pays back evil for evil, but always keep looking for ways to show kindness to one another and everybody. Always be joyful. Never stop praying. read more.
Make it a habit to give thanks for everything, for this is God's will for you through Christ Jesus. Stop stifling the Spirit. Stop treating the messages of prophecy with contempt, but continue to prove all things until you can approve them, and then hold on to what is good. Continue to abstain from every sort of evil. May God Himself, who gave you peace, consecrate your whole being. May you be safely kept, spirit, soul, and body, so as to be blameless when our Lord Jesus Christ comes back. He who calls you is trustworthy and He will do this. Brothers, pray for us. Greet all the brothers with a sacred kiss. I solemnly charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers. The spiritual blessing of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Stop living in accordance with the customs of this world, but by the new ideals that mold your minds continue to transform yourselves, so as to find and follow God's will; that is, what is good, well-pleasing to Him, and perfect.

Since you have purified your souls by obeying the truth, in sincere love for the brotherhood you must love one another heartily and fervently,

Dearly beloved, let us practice loving one another, because love originates with God, and everyone who practices loving is a child of God and knows God by experience.

Your love must be true. You must always turn in horror from what is wrong, but keep on holding to what is right.

For the commandments, "You must not commit adultery; you must not murder; you must not steal; you must not have an evil desire," and any other commandment if there is any, are summed up in this command, "You must love your neighbor as you do yourself."

It is now the third time that I have been ready to come to see you, and I will never ask you for financial support, for it is not your money but you yourselves that I want; for children are not by duty bound to lay up money for their parents, but parents for their children.

You slaves must practice obedience to your earthly masters, with reverence and awe, with sincerity of heart, as you would obey Christ,

For whoever wants to save his higher life will have to give up the lower life, and whoever gives up his lower life for my sake will find the higher life.
