Obanak is an oni warlord active in the Wushanko Isles. During the Tetsu-Oni story voyage in the player-owned port, he is discovered to be terrorising Ai Jei in search of gunpowder.[1] Sojobo and Shanao then set out to stop him, and are eventually successful in defeating him.[2] He is later discovered to have been aided in his attack by a Purist known as Benkei in exchange for weapons, which included tetsu oni clubs.[3]

- "Obanak" backwards is spelled "kanabo". In Japanese folklore, kanabō is a mythical weapon often carried by oni.
