Renown is the currency used to redeem minigame rewards from the Quartermaster in the Cabbage Facepunch Bonanza minigame.

Historic world events[edit | edit source]

Renown was also currency used during the first two world events. The points were reset if the player switched sides.

Battle of Lumbridge[edit | edit source]

Renown was first used during the 2013 Battle of Lumbridge, after aligning with either Saradomin or Zamorak. It is obtained when the player deposits a number of Divine tears at the collection point at their faction's base and will then gain renown equal to the amount. It also improves a player's token (Saradominist or Zamorakian) from Bronze to Dragon. It can be spent at Requisitions. The amount of renown a player could gather in a single day was limited by a modifier, that started at x5 and dropped down to x0 as more renown was earnt. Certain methods of gathering renown did not affect the modifier.

The Bird and the Beast[edit | edit source]

Renown was also used during the 2013-14 second world event, The Bird and the Beast, and was earned via defeating the opposing faction, gathering energy for a convoy, constructing or destroying buildings, or depositing Divine crystals. Renown was limited by the amount of energy a player had. Originally, it would start at 30,000 for members and 14,000 for free players. However, starting the sixth phase, the amount of energy available per day was increased to 45,000 for members and 21,000 for free players. Energy could be restored by drinking a potion offered by a wandering alchemist.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • For a short time after the Battle of Lumbridge ended, remaining renown could still be turned in at the player's faction's quartermaster for rewards. However, any divine tears that had not been deposited for renown could no longer be deposited.
