The shortcut key is obtained near the end of the quest The Darkness of Hallowvale. With the shortcut key, the time to reach Meiyerditch sector 3 from the start is cut to around a third. There are two shortcut doors which are identified by the symbol of the key on them.

The shortcut key can be added to the steel key ring.

If the shortcut key is lost, it can be reclaimed from Safalaan. After the quest The Branches of Darkmeyer, since Safalaan has disappeared, Vertida Sefalatis (located in the Meiyerditch Myreque base) will replace the key instead. After the quest The Lord of Vampyrium, the key can be reclaimed by simply attempting to open one of the shortcut doors in Meiyerditch.

Location of the shortcut doors[edit | edit source]

To locate the shortcut door, board the boat on the coast south of Burgh de Rott. Follow the wall north and locate the door just northwest of Old Man Ral. See the Meiyerditch/Shortcut guide for the route that requires the key.
