The speaker introduced the topic of his speech by starting with a metaphor between the
rose and the audience. The topic of his speech is about having something special within
you that makes you as beautiful and unique as the rose. He picked out the petals, broke
them into two, and threw them into the trash to explain more about his topic – when you
are broken, it is very difficult to feel special. And with this theatrical acting, and
metaphorical lines, he managed to pique the curiosity and captured the attention of the
audience.

The important point highlighted by the speaker in his speech is that there are people who
can see something in you no matter how lost and destroyed you are. And they can help
you – they can replace your lost pieces and fix the destroyed ones. Everything that has
been said wouldn’t be relatable and inspiring as it is when the speaker didn’t share
personal experiences to support the message. The speaker was once lost and destroyed
too but with the people around him that saw something special in him, he was found and
became whole again. And now he is a dreamer, speaker and learned the unfailing quality
of unconditional love.

Yes, the speaker demonstrated effective use of the language. The speaker used
informative language to describe and to emphasize the story he was sharing, example is
when he said, “I see a strange man seated in the back row, humble, simple, the unfailing
quality of kindness in his eyes”. The speaker was able to convey the inspiring message of
his speech through his clear pronunciations of words, his choice of words – he used
metaphor, correct use of grammar, and use of different tones to highlight the important
point. His speech was brief but comprehensive and his speaking skills were great in a
way he was able to share stories that the audience could understand, relate, and connect
to the emotions.

Public speaking is hard for many reasons, but the way the speaker delivered his speech
performance was indeed impressive. The speaker was confident, managed to capture the
attention of the audience, conveyed and concluded the message of his speech concisely,
showed great speech delivery techniques and speaking skills which left a remarkable
hand gestures, body language, facial expressions, and physical appearance. Overall, he
did a great performance and it highly shows how important effective communication
skills, speaking skills, and delivery strategies are in public speaking, speeches, everyday
