During Birthright of the Dwarves, he is once again arrested by the Black Guard, this time for attempting to forment a revolution against King Veldaban. Having been accused of being a Red Axe spy, the player has the option of either letting him go, exiling him, or executing him. If spared, he may once again be found within the King's Axe Inn, and if exiled, he may be found south of Yanille.
Like Meike and Luitger, Klaas' reasons for supporting the reinstatement of a king in Keldagrim vary wildly from his fellow Monarchists. Klaas cares mainly about the power that an absolute monarch would hold, as he believes the Consortium to be the source of all of dwarven society's ills which can only be solved by imperial power. He is also not adverse to committing violence, as shown by his arrests by the Black Guard.
Klaas ultimately cares the most about whether a king does what he personally wants. Should he be spared after Birthright of the Dwarves, Klaas will flip to supporting Veldaban due to his victory over the Red Axe. Should King Drunken Dwarf III be crowned after Birthright of the Dwarves, he will express disgust at the king's drunkenness and mourn Veldaban's passing.
To go along with Birthright of the Dwarves, every dwarf in the game is now up to date with stunning new graphics. The graphics team have really outdone themselves, giving every dwarf in Gielinor a character all their own, as well as the tough, stocky frames they deserve.
After the dwarf graphical update, he looked completely different when sitting down to how he looked when standing. This was fixed with the release of Birthright of the Dwarves post-quest dialogue.
