Perks (player-owned farm)

Perks are benefits that the player receives from the player-owned farm when an animal reaches the elder stage in a pen with a farm totem (purchased from Farmers' Market) or when the player completes the breeding log for an animal. All pens on the Manor Farm and the Anachronia Dinosaur Farm, with the exception of the breeding pens, can have farm totems placed on them. If there is at least one elder animal in the pen, the totem will activate a Tier 1 perk related to the contained livestock. Tier 2 perks can be activated by having the same elder species in 2 pens with farm totems attached to them. Completing the breeding log for a category of animal passively grants the tier 1 perk for this animal.

Possible perks include a chance to gain a clue scroll from harvesting, increased damage to all spiders including Araxxor/Araxxi, increased yield on mushrooms, Farming Guild reputations increases and a chance to save skillchompas, to name a few. Two elder animals must be placed in two separate pens for the Tier 2 perks to activate. For this reason, there are no tier 2 perks for the small and medium animals at the Anachronia Dinosaur Farm, since it has only has one small pen and one medium pen. Animals that have male/female perks that differ but occupy the same pen (equipped with a farm totem) will receive both the male and female version of the perk.

There are a total of 26 perks available. The Manor Farm offers 12: one per gender for cows, chickens, and sheep, and one each for the remaining 6 animal types; and the Anachronia Dinosaur Farm offers 14: one each per animal.

In order to activate these perks:

• Tier 1 perks: Players need one animal pen with at least one elder animal, with the farm totem placed on the pen, or have completed the breeding log for a category of animal.
• Tier 2 perks: Players need two animal pens with at least one elder animal in each, with the farm totem placed on both the pens.

Anachronia Dinosaur Farm perks

In order to activate these perks:

• Tier 1 perks: Players need one dinosaur pen with at least one elder dinosaur, with the farm totem placed on the pen, or have completed the breeding log for a category of animal.
• Tier 2 perks: Players need two dinosaur pens with at least one elder dinosaur in each, with the farm totem placed on both the pens. Level 104 Farming is required to buy the second large dinosaur pen deed.

• patch 22 January 2024 (Update):
  • Completing the Breeding Log for a category of animal now passively grants the tier 1 perk for this animal.
    • For example, if you have completed the You Had a Zygomite achievement to breed the five types of zygomite, you are now granted the tier 1 Zygomite perk Uncapped Potential, without needing a Zygomite in one of your pens. You still require an animal in a pen to get its tier 2 perk.

• patch 17 July 2023 (Update):
  • Fixed an issue where the player-owned farm hen perk, Headless Chicken, would consume 1.5x feathers instead of 0.5x when fletching headless arrows and darts. The chat message has also been updated for better clarity of the effect when it procs.

• update 7 November 2022 (Update):
  • Bully for You updated from having a chance to save any kind of processed compost to having a chance to save 50% of any kind of unprocessed compost.

  • Fixed an issue where ability tooltips would not show correctly if they were currently being affected by the perk effects of a dinosaur farm animal.

  • Players can now shear sheep for wool with one empty backpack slot when the 'Have Ewe (Many Wool)' perk is active.
