LESSON PLAN
I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

a. identify the use of Imagery and figure of speech in creative writing,


b. create different activities using imagery, Sensory experience and figure of
speech, and
c. appreciate the use of imagery and figure of speech in creative writing.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Creative Writing

Materials: Laptop, Power point Presentation, Hand-outs, Flash Cards

A. Preliminary Activities

B. Reviewing of Past Lessons
Students will raise the green flag provided if the statement is true and raise the red flag
if it is false.
C. Reading of Objectives
Our objective is to:
a. identify the use of Imagery and figure of speech in creative writing.
b. create different activities using imagery, Sensory experience and figure of
speech.
c. appreciate the use of imagery and figure of speech in creative writing.

D. Lesson Proper

1. Motivation
The teacher is going to play a video clip of two persons having a conversation where
one of them is speaking creatively, and the other is not.
Guide questions:
1. What have you observed about the video?
2. What do you think the feeling elicited by the video provided?

E. Activity
Instruction:
1. The student will be divided into 4 groups based on the color of paper pasted in
their chairs.
2. Students will identify the following photographs from the box. Place the provided
imagery or figure of speech on the blackboard. The pictures on the box were
composed of different kind of figure of speech and imagery or sensory
experience pictures.
3. For this task, the first group to successfully write the required sentence on the
board and identify what type of imagery and figure of speech it is will receive 10
points. After fully placing. Clearly read aloud.
4. You now have three minutes. You are not permitted to use any technology,
including your phone. You may now proceed with your respected group.
F. Analysis
Discussion of creative writing using imagery and figure of speech.

Imagery and Sensory Experience


To create imageries, a writer makes use of his sensory experiences. He/she recalls
what he perceives through his eyes, ears, nose, tongue, hands, skin, and other sensory
organs.

Figures of Speech Figures of speech are connotative presentations of words to


produce a literary effect.

Figures of Contrast
Oxymoron Placing side by side of two contrasting words Blinding darkness.
Paradox A seemingly self-contradictory statement which can be proven to be true the
more you hate, the more you love.
Irony A statement of one idea, the opposite of which is meant You’re so lovely today;
you look like a Christmas tree.

G. Abstraction
The students will be asking the following questions.
