Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.

Don't you think that I could call on my Father, and he would send me more than twelve legions of angels now?

Suddenly, a multitude of the Heavenly Army appeared with the angel, praising God by saying,

And again, when he brings his firstborn into the world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him."

Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels, the living creatures, and the elders surrounding the throne. They numbered 10,000's times 10,000 and thousands times thousands.

For the Messiah also suffered for sins once for all, an innocent person for the guilty, so that he could bring you to God. He was put to death in a mortal body but was brought to life by the Spirit,

and from Jesus the Messiah, the witness, the faithful one, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To the one who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood

No one shows greater love than when he lays down his life for his friends.

Live lovingly, just as the Messiah also loved us and gave himself for us as an offering and sacrifice, a fragrant aroma to God.

He gave himself for our sins in order to rescue us from this present evil age according to the will of our God and Father.

He gave himself for us to set us free from every wrong and to cleanse us so that we could be his special people who are enthusiastic about doing good deeds.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah. Although he was rich, for your sakes he became poor, so that you, through his poverty, might become rich.

Then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the creation of the world. But now, at the end of the ages, he has appeared once for all to remove sin by his sacrifice.

This is how we have come to know love: the Messiah gave his life for us. We, too, ought to give our lives for our brothers.

I have told you this so that through me you may have peace. In the world you'll have trouble, but be courageous I've overcome the world!"

Therefore I will allot him a portion with the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong; because he poured out his life to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he carried the sins of many, and made intercession for their transgressions."

He will not snap off a broken reed or snuff out a smoldering wick until he has brought justice through to victory.

Then the end will come, when after he has done away with every ruler and every authority and power, the Messiah hands over the kingdom to God the Father.

To the one who conquers I will give a place to sit with me on my throne, just as I have conquered and have sat down with my Father on his throne.

"Stop crying," one of the elders told me. "Look! The Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered. He can open the scroll and its seven seals."

Then I looked, and there was a white horse! Its rider had a bow, and a victor's crown had been given to him. He went out as a conqueror to conquer.

They will wage war against the lamb, but the lamb will conquer them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings. Those who are called, chosen, and faithful are with him."

Now to the one who is able to strengthen you with my gospel and the message that I preach about Jesus, the Messiah, by revealing the secret that was kept hidden from long ago

By common confession, the secret of our godly worship is great: In flesh was he revealed to sight, kept righteous by the Spirit's might, adored by angels singing. To nations was he manifest, believing souls found peace and rest, our Lord in heaven reigning!

Because they are united in love, I pray that their hearts may be encouraged by all the riches that come from a complete understanding of the full knowledge of the Messiah, who is the mystery of God.

Instead, we speak about God's wisdom in a hidden secret, which God destined before the world began for our glory.

when he made known to us the secret of his will. This was according to his plan that he set forth in the Messiah

By reading this, you will be able to grasp my understanding of the secret about the Messiah,

to whom God wanted to make known the glorious riches of this secret among the gentiles which is the Messiah in you, our glorious hope.

At the same time also pray for us that God would open before us a door for the word so that we may tell the secret about the Messiah, for which I have been imprisoned.

Jesus told her, "Don't hold on to me, because I haven't yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, "I'm ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"

For the Messiah did not go into a sanctuary made by human hands that is merely a copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, to appear now in God's presence on our behalf.

who has gone to heaven and is at the right hand of God, where angels, authorities, and powers have been made subject to him.

While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up to heaven.

What if you saw the Son of Man going up to the place where he was before?

You ascended to the heights, you took captives. You received gifts among mankind, even the rebellious, so the LORD God may live there.

That is why God says, "When he went up to the highest place, he led captives into captivity and gave gifts to people."

After saying this, Jesus was taken up while those who had gathered together were watching, and a cloud took him out of their sight.

So the Lord Jesus, after talking with his disciples, was taken up to heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us live our lives consistent with our confession of faith.

Jesus told him, "I tell you with certainty, before a rooster crows this very night, you will deny me three times."

They claim to know God, but they deny him by their actions. They are detestable, disobedient, and disqualified to do anything good.

But whoever denies me before people I, too, will deny before my Father in heaven."

Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard when a servant girl came up to him and said, "You, too, were with Jesus the Galilean." But he denied it in front of them all. "I don't know what you're talking about!" he exclaimed.

Enduring, we with him will reign. Who him denies, he will disclaim.

Now there were false prophets among the people, just as there also will be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction on themselves.

He also ordered us to preach to the people and to testify solemnly that this is the one appointed by God to be the judge of the living and the dead.

In the presence of God and the Messiah Jesus, who is going to judge those who are living and those who are dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I solemnly appeal to you

Therefore, stop judging prematurely, before the Lord comes, for he will bring to light what is now hidden in darkness and reveal the motives of our hearts. Then each person will receive his praise from God.

All the nations will be assembled in front of him, and he will cull them out, one from another, like a shepherd separates sheep from goats.

The Father judges no one, but has given all authority to judge to the Son,

because he has set a day when he is going to judge the world with justice through a man whom he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead."

on that day when God, through Jesus the Messiah, will judge people's secrets according to my gospel.

Why, then, do you criticize your brother? Or why do you despise your brother? For all of us will stand before the judgment seat of God.

They will give an account to the one who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

who has gone to heaven and is at the right hand of God, where angels, authorities, and powers have been made subject to him.

You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. That is why God, your God, anointed you rather than your companions with the oil of gladness."

"Therefore, let all the people of Israel understand beyond a doubt that God made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah!"

So the Lord Jesus, after talking with his disciples, was taken up to heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God."

God has exalted to his right hand this very man as our Leader and Savior in order to extend repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.

which he brought about in the Messiah when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realm.

Now lifted up by God to heaven, a name above all others given, this matchless name possessing.

They sang with a loud voice, "Worthy is the lamb who was slaughtered to receive power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and praise!"

thereby becoming like his brothers in every way, so that he could be a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God and could atone for the people's sins.

and from Jesus the Messiah, the witness, the faithful one, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To the one who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood

But the Lord is faithful and will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

Let us continue to hold firmly to the hope that we confess without wavering, for the one who made the promise is faithful.

The one who calls you is faithful, and he will continue to be faithful.

Our faith may fail, his never wanes That's who he is, he cannot change!

Then I saw heaven standing open, and there was a white horse! Its rider is named Faithful and True. He administers justice and wages war righteously.

Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with his own blood he went into the Most Holy Place once for all and secured our eternal redemption.

The Messiah redeemed us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse for us. For it is written, "A curse on everyone who is hung on a tree!"

They sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered. With your blood you purchased people for God from every tribe, language, people, and nation.

He gave himself for us to set us free from every wrong and to cleanse us so that we could be his special people who are enthusiastic about doing good deeds.

By his grace they are justified freely through the redemption that is in the Messiah Jesus,

It is because of God that you are in union with the Messiah Jesus, who for us has become wisdom from God, as well as our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.

through whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

For you know that it was not with perishable things like silver or gold that you have been ransomed from the worthless way of life handed down to you by your ancestors,

"You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you. I have appointed you to go and produce fruit that will last, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.

She kept doing this for many days until Paul became annoyed, turned to her and told the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus the Messiah to come out of her!" And it came out that very moment.

I'll do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

and then repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

At that time, you will make your requests in my name, so that I will have no need to ask the Father on your behalf,

But these have been recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and so that through believing you may have life in his name.

However, Peter said, "I don't have any silver or gold, but I'll give you what I do have. In the name of Jesus the Messiah from Nazareth, walk!"

It is his name that is, by faith in his name that has healed this man whom you see and know. Yes, the faith that comes through Jesus has given him this perfect health in the presence of all of you.

you and all the people of Israel must understand that this man stands healthy before you because of the name of Jesus from Nazareth, whom you crucified, but whom God raised from the dead.

you will consistently give thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah;

"I kept on watching until the Ancient of Days was seated. His clothes were white, like snow, and the hair on his head was like pure wool. His throne burned with flaming fire, and its wheels burned with fire.

You are the most handsome of Adam's descendants; grace has anointed your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever.

His mouth is sweetness, and all of him is desirable. This is my beloved, this is my friend, young women of Jerusalem!

Just as many were astonished at you so was he marred in his appearance, more than any human, and his form beyond that of human semblance

For he grew up before him like a tender plant, and like a root out of a dry ground; he had no form and he had no majesty that we should look at him, and there is no attractiveness that we should desire him.

His appearance was changed in front of them, his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as light.

His head and his hair were white like wool, in fact, as white as snow. His eyes were like flames of fire,

The person sitting there looked like jasper and carnelian, and there was a rainbow around the throne that looked like an emerald.

They will wage war against the lamb, but the lamb will conquer them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings. Those who are called, chosen, and faithful are with him."

I tell all of you with certainty, some people standing here will not experience death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."

so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit down on thrones to govern the twelve tribes of Israel."

Then he went on to plead, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom!"

Jesus answered, "My kingdom does not belong to this world. If my kingdom belonged to this world, my servants would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But for now my kingdom is not from here."

And so, when Jesus' name is called, the knees of everyone should fall, wherever they're residing.

But about the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the scepter of your kingdom is a righteous scepter.

When the seventh angel blew his trumpet, there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The world's kingdom has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will rule forever and ever."

There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Faithful is the God by whom you were called into fellowship with his Son Jesus the Messiah, our Lord.

"Therefore, let all the people of Israel understand beyond a doubt that God made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah!"

God has exalted to his right hand this very man as our Leader and Savior in order to extend repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.

Then he told them, "The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."

If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

yet for us there is only one God, the Father, from whom everything came into being and for whom we live. And there is only one Lord, Jesus the Messiah, through whom everything came into being and through whom we live.

For this reason I want you to be aware that no one who is speaking by God's Spirit can say, "Jesus is cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, because he always lives to intercede for them, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him.

Today your Savior, the Lord Messiah, was born in the City of David.

and the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost."

Because God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world would be saved through him.

This is a trustworthy saying that deserves complete acceptance: To this world Messiah came, sinful people to reclaim.

God has exalted to his right hand this very man as our Leader and Savior in order to extend repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.

It was from this man's descendants that God, as he promised, brought to Israel a Savior, who is Jesus.

Now, however, that grace has been revealed through the coming of our Savior the Messiah Jesus, who has destroyed death and through the gospel has brought life and release from death into full view.

We have seen for ourselves and can testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

For the Messiah also suffered for sins once for all, an innocent person for the guilty, so that he could bring you to God. He was put to death in a mortal body but was brought to life by the Spirit,

Zeal for your house consumes me, and the mockeries of those who insult you fall on me.

The Messiah redeemed us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse for us. For it is written, "A curse on everyone who is hung on a tree!"

Now when God put everything under him, he left nothing outside his control. However, at the present time we do not yet see everything put under him. But we do see someone who was made a little lower than the angels. He is Jesus, who is crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might experience death for everyone.

God made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that God's righteousness would be produced in us.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, and he was crushed for our iniquities, and the punishment that made us whole was upon him, and by his bruises we are healed.

so the Messiah was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people. And he will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly wait for him.

"He himself bore our sins" in his body on the tree, so that we might die to those sins and live righteously. "By his wounds you have been healed."

"For this is what the high and lofty One says, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "He lives in the height and in holiness, and also with the one who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

yet stooping low to observe the sky and the earth?

He it is who remembered us in our lowly circumstances, for his gracious love is everlasting

Though the LORD is highly exalted, yet he pays attention to those who are lowly regarded, but he is aware of the arrogant from afar.

The Pharisees saw this and asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"

because he has looked favorably on his humble servant. From now on, all generations will call me blessed,

therefore he got up from the table, removed his outer robe, and took a towel and fastened it around his waist.

After saying this, he showed them his hands and his side, and when they saw the Lord, the disciples were overjoyed.

Then he told Thomas, "Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Take your hand, and put it into my side. Stop doubting, but believe."

The Pharisees, however, went out and plotted against Jesus to kill him.

They conspired to arrest Jesus by treachery and to kill him.

When morning came, all the high priests and elders of the people conspired against Jesus to put him to death.

The others were furious and began to discuss with each other what they could do to Jesus.

Then he began teaching in the Temple every day. The high priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people kept looking for a way to kill him,

So he went off and discussed with the high priests and the Temple police how he could betray Jesus to them.

So the Jewish leaders began persecuting Jesus, because he kept doing such things on the Sabbath.

So the high priests and the Pharisees assembled the Council and said, "What are we going to do? This man is performing many signs.

So from that day on they resolved to put him to death.

When the Pharisees and Sadducees arrived, in order to test Jesus they asked him to show them a sign from heaven.

Some Pharisees came to him in order to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?"

Then the Pharisees went and planned how to trap Jesus in conversation.

The Pharisees arrived and began arguing with Jesus. They tested him by demanding from him a sign from heaven.

Some Pharisees came to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?"

Then they sent some Pharisees and some Herodians to him, intending to trap him in what he said.

They watched him closely in an effort to trap him in something he might say.

So they watched him closely and sent spies who pretended to be honest men in order to trap him in what he would say. They wanted to hand him over to the jurisdiction of the governor,

They said this to test him, so that they might have a charge against him. But Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with his finger.

Abraham approached and asked, "Will you actually destroy the righteous along with the wicked? Perhaps there are 50 righteous ones within the city. Will you actually destroy it and not forgive the place for the sake of the 50 righteous that are found there? Far be it from you to do such a thing to kill the righteous along with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike! The Judge of all the earth will do what is right, won't he?" read more.
The LORD said, "If I find 50 righteous people within Sodom, I'll forgive the whole place for their sake." Abraham answered, "Look, even though I am only dust and ashes, I've ventured to speak to my LORD. What if there are five less than 50 righteous ones? Will you bring destruction upon the city because of those five?" The LORD said, "I won't destroy it if I find 45 there." Abraham continued to speak to him, asking, "What if 40 are found there?" The LORD replied, "I won't do it for the sake of those 40." Abraham then asked, "I hope my LORD will not be angry if I speak. What if 30 are found there?" The LORD answered, "I won't do it for the sake of those 30." "Look," Abraham said, "I've presumed to speak to my LORD" so what if 20 are found there?" "For the sake of those 20," the LORD responded, "I won't destroy it." Finally, Abraham inquired, "I hope my LORD will not be angry if I speak only once more. What if ten are found there?" He replied, "For the sake of those ten I won't destroy it."

And so Jacob was left alone, and he struggled with a man until daybreak. When the man realized that he hadn't yet won the struggle, he injured the socket of Jacob's thigh, dislocating it as he wrestled with him, and said, "Let me go, because the dawn has come." "I won't let you go," Jacob replied, "unless you bless me." read more.
Then the man asked him, "What's your name?" "Jacob," he responded "Your name won't be Jacob anymore," the man replied, "but Israel, because you exerted yourself against both God and men, and you've emerged victorious." "Please," Jacob inquired, "Tell me your name." But he asked, "Why are you asking about my name?" And he blessed Jacob there. Jacob would later call that place Peniel, because "I saw God face to face, but my life was spared."

Then King David went in to the presence of the LORD, sat down, and said: "Who am I, Lord GOD, and what is my family, that you have brought me to this? And this is still a small thing to you, Lord GOD you also have spoken about the future of your servant's house, and this is the charter for mankind, O Lord GOD! "What more can David say to you, and you surely know your servant, Lord GOD. read more.
For the sake of your word and consistent with your desire, you have done all of these great things, informing your servant. And therefore you are great, Lord GOD, there is no one like you, there is no God except for you, just as we've heard with our own ears. "And who is like your people, like Israel, the one nation on earth that God went out to redeem as a people for himself, to make a name for himself, and to carry out for them great and awe-inspiring accomplishments, driving out nations and their gods in front of your people, whom you redeemed to yourself from Egypt? You have prepared your people Israel to be your very own people for ever, and you, LORD, have become their God! "And now, LORD God, let what you have spoken concerning your servant and his household be done and let it be done just as you've promised. May your name be made great forever with the result that it is said that the LORD of the Heavenly Armies is God over Israel, and that the household of your servant David may be established before you. For you, LORD of the Heavenly Armies, the God of Israel, have revealed this to your servant, telling him, "I will build a dynasty for you,' so that your servant has found fortitude to pray this prayer to you. "Now therefore, Lord GOD, you are God, and your words are true, and you have spoken to your servant these good things. So may it please you to bless the household of your servant, so that it might remain forever in your presence, because you, Lord GOD, have spoken, and from your blessing may the household of your servant be blessed forever."

Then Solomon took his place in front of the LORD's altar in the presence of the entire congregation of Israel, spread out his hands toward heaven, and said: "LORD God of Israel, there is no one like you, God in heaven above or on the earth below, who watches over his covenant, showing gracious love to your servants who live their lives in your presence with all their hearts. It is you, LORD God, who have kept your promise to my father, your servant David, that you made to him. Indeed, you made a commitment to my father David and then personally fulfilled what you had promised today. read more.
"Now therefore, LORD God of Israel, keep your promise that you made to my father, your servant David, when you said, "You will not lack a man to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your descendants will watch their lives, to live in my presence just as you have lived in my presence.' "Now therefore, God of Israel, may your promise that you made to your servant David my father be fulfilled" and yet, will God truly reside on earth? Look! Neither the sky nor the highest heaven can contain you! How much less this Temple that I have built! Pay attention to the prayer of your servant and to his request, LORD my God, and listen to the cry and prayer that your servant is praying in your presence today. Let your eyes always look toward this Temple night and day, toward the location where you have said "My name will reside there.' Listen to the prayer that your servant prays in this direction. Listen to the requests from your servant and from your people Israel as they pray in this direction, listen from the place where you reside in heaven, then hear and forgive. "If a man should sin against his neighbor and he is required to take an oath, and he then comes to take an oath in front of your altar in this Temple, then listen in heaven, act, and judge your servants, condemning the wicked by bringing back to him the consequences of his choices and by justifying the righteous by recompensing him according to his righteousness. "If your people Israel are defeated in a battle with their enemy because they have sinned against you, when they return to you and confess to you, pray, and in this Temple they ask you to show grace to them, then hear in heaven, forgive the sin of your people Israel, and return them to the soil that you gave to their ancestors. "When heaven remains closed, and there is no rain because they have sinned against you, and they pray in the direction of this place, confessing your name and turning from their sin when you afflict them, then hear in heaven and forgive the sin of your servants and of your people Israel. Indeed, teach them the best way to live and send rain on your land that you have given to your people as an inheritance. "If a famine comes to the land, or if plant diseases, mildew, locust, or grasshoppers appear, or if their enemies attack them in their settlements of the land, no matter what the epidemic or illness is, whatever prayer or request is made, no matter whether it's made by a single man or by all of your people Israel, each praying out of his own hurting heart and anguish and stretching out his hands toward this Temple, then hear from heaven, the place where you reside, and forgive, repaying each person according to all of his ways, since you know their hearts for you alone know the hearts of all human beings so they will fear you every day and live on the surface of the land that you have given to our ancestors. "Now concerning the foreigner who is not from your people Israel, when he comes from a land far away for the sake of your name (for people will hear of your great name, your mighty acts, and your obvious power), when he comes and prays facing this Temple, then hear in heaven where you reside, and do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the people of the earth may know your name, fear you as do your people Israel, and so they may know that this Temple that I have built is called by your name. "When your people go out to war against their enemies, no matter what way you send them, and they pray to the LORD in the direction of the city that you have chosen and in the direction of the Temple that I have built for your name, then hear their prayer and their request in heaven, and fight for their cause. "When they sin against you because there isn't a single human being who doesn't sin and you become angry with them and deliver them over to their enemy, who takes them away captive to the land that belongs to their enemy, whether near or far away, if they turn their hearts back to you in the land where they have been taken captive, repent, and pray to you even if they do so in the land of their captivity confessing, "We have sinned, we have committed abominations, and practiced wickedness,' if they return to you with all of their heart and with all of their soul in the land of their enemies who have taken them captive, as they pray to you in the direction of their land that you have given to their ancestors and to the city that you have chosen, and to the Temple that I have built for your name, then hear their prayer and requests in heaven, where you reside, and fight for their cause, forgiving your people who have sinned against you, along with their transgressions by which they have transgressed against you. "Show your compassion in the presence of those who have taken them captive, so they may show compassion on them, since they are your people and your heritage, which you brought out of Egypt, from an iron fire furnace. Do this so your eyes may remain open to the requests of your servant and to the requests of your people's prayers, to listen to them whenever they call out to you, because you have separated them to yourself as your heritage from all the people of the earth, as you spoke through your servant Moses when you brought our ancestors out of Egypt, Lord GOD. When Solomon had completed saying this entire prayer to the LORD, he got up from kneeling with his hands spread out toward heaven in the presence of the LORD's altar, stood up, and blessed all of the assembly of Israel in a loud voice. He said: "Blessed is the LORD, who has given security to his people Israel, just as he promised. Not one of his promises has failed to come about that he gave through his servant Moses. May the LORD our God be with us, just as he was with our ancestors. May he never leave us or abandon us, so that he may turn our hearts toward him, so that we may live life his way, keeping his commands, statutes, and ordinances that he gave to our ancestors. And may what I've had to say to the LORD remain with the LORD our God both day and night, so that he may defend the cause of his servant and the cause of his people Israel, as the need of the day may require it, so that, in turn, all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God there is no one else. Now let your heart be completely devoted to the LORD our God, to live according to his statutes and to keep his commands, as we are doing today."

Once Jesus was praying in a certain place. After he had finished, one of his disciples told him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples." So he told them, "Whenever you pray you are to say, "Father, may your name be kept holy. May your kingdom come. Keep giving us every day our daily bread, read more.
and forgive us our sins, as we forgive everyone who sins against us. And never bring us into temptation.'" Then he told them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say to him, "Friend, let me borrow three loaves of bread. A friend of mine on a trip has dropped in on me, and I don't have anything to serve him.' Suppose he answers from inside, "Stop bothering me! The door is already locked, and my children are here with us in the bedroom. I can't get up and give you anything!' I tell you, even though that man doesn't want to get up and give him anything because he is his friend, he will get up and give him whatever he needs because of his persistence. So I say to you: Keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened for you, because everyone who keeps asking will receive, and the person who keeps searching will find, and the person who keeps knocking will have the door opened. What father among you, if his son asks for bread, would give him a stone, or if he asks for a fish, would give him a snake instead of the fish? Or if he asks for an egg, would he give him a scorpion? So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who keep asking him!"

Jesus told his disciples a parable about their need to pray all the time and never give up. He said, "In a city there was a judge who didn't fear God or respect people. In that city there was also a widow who kept coming to him and saying, "Grant me justice against my adversary.' read more.
For a while the judge refused. But later, he told himself, "I don't fear God or respect people, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice. Otherwise, she will keep coming and wear me out.'" Then the Lord added, "Listen to what the unrighteous judge says. Won't God grant his chosen people justice when they cry out to him day and night? Is he slow to help them? I tell you, he will give them justice quickly. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

This is the builder's son, isn't it? His mother is named Mary, isn't she? His brothers are James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas, aren't they?

While Jesus was still speaking to the crowds, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him.

Then his mother and his brothers arrived. Milling around outside, they sent for him, continuously summoning him.

After this, Jesus went down to Capernaum he, his mother, his brothers, and his disciples and they remained there for a few days.

So his brothers told him, "You should leave this place and go to Judea, so that your disciples can see the actions that you're doing,

Not even his brothers believed in him.

We have the right to take a believing wife with us like the other apostles, the Lord's brothers, and Cephas, don't we?

But I did not see any other apostle except James, the Lord's brother.

But the Pharisees and the scribes kept complaining, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them."

"Why does this man talk this way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

The Pharisees saw this and asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"

When the Pharisees saw this, they told him, "Look! Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!"

"Why do your disciples disregard the tradition of the elders? They don't wash their hands when they eat."

When the scribes and the Pharisees saw him eating with sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples, "Why does he eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?"

They noticed that some of his disciples were eating with unclean hands, that is, without washing them.

But all the people who saw this began to complain: "Jesus is going to be the guest of a notorious sinner!"

Then the Jewish leaders began grumbling about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven."

Jesus told him, "I tell you with certainty, today you will be with me in Paradise."

If anyone serves me, he must follow me. And where I am, there my servant will also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him."

And since I'm going away to prepare a place for you, I'll come back again and welcome you into my presence, so that you may be where I am.

Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am and to see my glory, which you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

We are confident, then, and would prefer to be away from this body and to live with the Lord.

Indeed, I cannot decide between the two. I have the desire to leave this life and be with the Messiah, for that is far better.

Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, you will not allow your holy one to experience corruption.

From that time on, Jesus began to show his disciples that he would have to go to Jerusalem and suffer a great deal because of the elders, the high priests, and the scribes. Then he would be killed, but on the third day he would be raised.

Then they will hand him over to unbelievers to be mocked, whipped, and crucified, but on the third day he will be raised."

However, after I have been raised, I will go to Galilee ahead of you."

On their way down the mountain, Jesus ordered them not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.

However, after I've been raised, I'll go to Galilee ahead of you."

Jesus answered them, "Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will rebuild it."

I've had help from God to this day, and so I stand here to testify to both the powerful and the lowly alike, stating only what the prophets and Moses said would happen that the Messiah would suffer and be the first to rise from the dead and would bring light both to our people and to the gentiles."

They were greatly disturbed that Peter and John were teaching the people and announcing that Jesus had been resurrected from the dead.

Philip went down to the city of Samaria and began to preach the Messiah to the people.

Then Philip began to speak, and, starting from this Scripture, he told him the good news about Jesus.

He immediately started to preach about Jesus in the synagogues, saying, "This is the Son of God."

He has sent his word to the descendants of Israel and brought them the good news of peace through Jesus the Messiah. This man is the Lord of everyone.

He explained and showed them that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead: "This very Jesus whom I proclaim to you is the Messiah."

but we preach the Messiah crucified. He is a stumbling block to Jews and nonsense to gentiles,

For we do not preach ourselves, but rather Jesus the Messiah as Lord, and ourselves as merely your servants for Jesus' sake.

Halfway through the festival, Jesus went up to the Temple and began teaching.

because he was teaching them like a person who had authority, and not like their scribes.

Then he went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every illness among the people.

and he began to teach them:

When he got out of the boat, he saw a large crowd. He had compassion for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things.

He began to teach in their synagogues and was continuously receiving praise from everyone.

So Jesus got into one of the boats (the one that belonged to Simon) and asked him to push out a little from the shore. Then he sat down and began to teach the crowds from the boat.

He came to Jesus at night and told him, "Rabbi, we know that you have come from God as a teacher, because no one can perform these signs that you are doing unless God is with him."

At daybreak he appeared again in the Temple, and all the people came to him. So he sat down and began to teach them.

The apostles came back and told Jesus everything they had done. Then he took them away with him privately to a city called Bethsaida.

After dismissing the crowds, he went up on a hillside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.

Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a hillside and sat down.

Six days later, Jesus took Peter, James, and his brother John and led them up a high mountain by themselves.

When Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and told them as they were walking along,

He told them, "Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest for a while," because so many people were coming and going that they didn't even have time to eat.

Jesus left that place and went to the territory of Tyre and Sidon. He went into a house, not wanting anyone to know he was there. However, it couldn't be kept a secret.

Then he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, knelt down, and began to pray,

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

"As for you, Bethlehem of Ephrathah, even though you remain least among the clans of Judah, nevertheless, the one who rules in Israel for me will emerge from you. His existence has been from antiquity, even from eternity.

Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am and to see my glory, which you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

In the beginning, the Word existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jesus told them, "Truly, I tell all of you emphatically, before there was an Abraham, I AM!"

"So now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world existed.

He himself existed before anything else did, and he holds all things together.

He has no father, mother, or genealogy, no birth date recorded for him, nor a date of death. Like the Son of God, he continues to be a priest forever.

John answered them, "I am baptizing with water, but among you stands a man whom you do not know,

"Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and you still do not know me?" Jesus asked him. "The person who has seen me has seen the Father. So how can you say, "Show us the Father'?

He was in the world, and the world was made through him. Yet the world did not recognize him.

Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who is saying to you, "Please give me a drink,' you would have been the one to ask him, and he would have given you living water."

Then they asked him, "Where is this Father of yours?"

The man answered them, "This is an amazing thing! You don't know where he comes from, yet he healed my eyes.

They'll do this because they haven't known the Father or me.

For the people who live in Jerusalem and their leaders, not knowing who Jesus was, condemned him and so fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath.

No one who remains in union with him keeps on sinning. The one who keeps on sinning hasn't seen him or known him.

Judas (not Iscariot) asked him, "Lord, how is it that you are going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?" Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. Then my Father will love him, and we will go to him and make our home within him.

"If you love me, keep my commandments. I will ask the Father to give you another Helper, to be with you always.

because the Father himself loves you, and because you have loved me and believed that I came from God.

May grace be with all who sincerely love the Lord Jesus, the Messiah!

Hold on to the pattern of healthy teachings that you have heard from me, along with the faith and love that are in the Messiah Jesus.

because I keep hearing about your love for all the saints and the faith that you have in the Lord Jesus.

Though you have not seen him, you love him. And even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy,

He also ordered us to preach to the people and to testify solemnly that this is the one appointed by God to be the judge of the living and the dead.

teaching them to obey everything that I've commanded you. And remember, I am with you each and every day until the end of the age."

And this is his commandment: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus the Messiah, and to love one another as he commanded us.

The person who has my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I, too, will love him and reveal myself to him."

I'm giving you a new commandment"to love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.

"If you love me, keep my commandments.

If you keep my commandments, you'll abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.

You are my friends, if you do what I command you.

Then they made his grave with the wicked, and with rich people in his death, although he had committed no violence, nor was there any deceit in his mouth."

and she gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him in strips of cloth and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no place for them in the guest quarters.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah. Although he was rich, for your sakes he became poor, so that you, through his poverty, might become rich.

At that time two bandits were crucified with him, one on his right and the other on his left.

Because I tell you, what has been written about me must be fulfilled: "He was counted among the criminals.' Indeed, what is written about me must be fulfilled."

In his humiliation, justice was denied him. Who can describe his descendants? For his life is taken away from the earth."

Instead, poured out in emptiness, a servant's form did he possess, a mortal man becoming. In human form he chose to be, and lived in all humility, death on a cross obeying.

This is the builder, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon, isn't it? His sisters are here with us, aren't they?" And they were offended by him.

How blessed is anyone who is not offended by me!"

but we preach the Messiah crucified. He is a stumbling block to Jews and nonsense to gentiles,

Then he will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel he'll also be a stone with which someone strikes himself, a rock one stumbles over, a trap and a snare to those who live in Jerusalem.

And they were offended by him.

Why not? Because they did not pursue it on the basis of faith, but as if it were based on achievements. They stumbled over the stone that causes people to stumble.

a stone they stumble over and a rock they trip on." They keep on stumbling because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.

After saying this, Jesus was deeply troubled in spirit and declared solemnly, "Truly, I tell all of you emphatically, one of you is going to betray me!"

"He was despised and rejected by others, and a man of sorrows, intimately familiar with suffering; and like one from whom people hide their faces; and we despised him and did not value him.

Then he looked up to heaven, sighed, and told him, "Ephphatha," that is, "Be opened!"

He sighed deeply in his spirit and remarked, "Why do those living today demand a sign? I tell all of you with certainty, no sign will be given to this generation."

When he came closer and saw the city, he began to grieve over it:

When Jesus saw her crying, and the Jews who had come with her crying, he was greatly troubled in spirit and deeply moved.

Jesus burst into tears.

"Now my soul is in turmoil, and what should I say "Father, save me from this hour'? No! It was for this very reason that I came to this hour.

We know that our old natures were crucified with him so that our sin-laden bodies might be rendered powerless and we might no longer be slaves to sin.

I no longer live, but the Messiah lives in me, and the life that I am now living in this body I live by the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

If you have died with the Messiah to the basic principles of the world, why are you submitting to its decrees as though you still lived in the world?

As it is written, "For your sake we are being put to death all day long. We are thought of as sheep headed for slaughter."

While we are alive, we are constantly being handed over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus may be clearly shown in our mortal bodies.

This saying is trustworthy: In dying with the Messiah, true life we gain.

Then Jesus said, "I'll be with you only a little while longer, and then I'm going back to the one who sent me.

You have heard me tell you, "I'm going away, but I'm coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would rejoice that I'm going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.

"But now I am going to the one who sent me. Yet none of you asks me, "Where are you going?'

I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by your Name, the Name that you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one.

Little children, I'm with you only a little longer. You will look for me, but what I told the Jewish leaders I now tell you, "Where I'm going, you cannot come.'

of righteousness, because I'm going to the Father and you will no longer see me;

In a little while you will no longer see me, then in a little while you will see me again."

I left the Father and came into the world. Now I'm leaving the world and going back to the Father."

I have told you this so that through me you may have peace. In the world you'll have trouble, but be courageous I've overcome the world!"

When the Lord saw her, he felt compassion for her. He told her, "You can stop crying."

"Don't let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me.

I'm not going to forsake you like orphans. I will come back to you.

When Jesus turned and saw her, he said, "Be courageous, daughter! Your faith has made you well." And from that very hour the woman was well.

But when Jesus heard what they said, he told the synagogue leader, "Stop being afraid! Just keep on believing."

May our Lord Jesus, the Messiah himself, and may God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope,

I must do the work of the one who sent me while it is day. Night is approaching, when no one can work.

Finally, he sent his son to them, thinking, "They will respect my son.'

I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of the one who sent me.

I know him because I've come from him, and he sent me."

Jesus told them, "If God were your Father, you would've loved me, because I came from God and am here. I haven't come on my own accord, but he sent me.

how can you say to the one whom the Father has consecrated and sent into the world, "You're blaspheming,' because I said, "I'm the Son of God'?

because the words that you gave me I passed on to them. They have received them and know for sure that I came from you. They have believed that you sent me.

so that they may all be one. Just as you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be one in us, so that the world may believe that you sent me.

The Messiah had to suffer these things and then enter his glory, didn't he?"

Because I tell you, what has been written about me must be fulfilled: "He was counted among the criminals.' Indeed, what is written about me must be fulfilled."

Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

Now lifted up by God to heaven, a name above all others given, this matchless name possessing. And so, when Jesus' name is called, the knees of everyone should fall, wherever they're residing. Then every tongue in one accord, will say that Jesus the Messiah is Lord, while God the Father praising.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

On his robe that covers his thigh he has a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS

and became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is better than theirs.

Listen! You will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus.

His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many royal crowns. He has a name written on him that nobody knows except himself.

"Tell the daughter of Zion, "Look, your king is coming to you! He is humble and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt of a donkey.'"

Now I myself, Paul, plead with you with the gentleness and kindness of the Messiah I who am humble when I am face to face with you but forceful toward you when I am away!

Place my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest for your souls,

He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he didn't open his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, as a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

Jesus told him, "Put your sword back in its place! Everyone who uses a sword will be killed by a sword.

When he was insulted, he did not retaliate. When he suffered, he did not threaten. It was his habit to commit the matter to the one who judges fairly.

and from Jesus the Messiah, the witness, the faithful one, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To the one who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood

Since you are in the presence of God, who gives life to everything, and in the presence of the Messiah Jesus, who gave a good testimony before Pontius Pilate, I solemnly charge you

Pilate asked him, "So you are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. I was born for this, and I came into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is committed to the truth listens to my voice."

"Look! I have made him a witness to the nations, a leader and commander of the nations.

Truly, I tell you emphatically, we know what we're talking about, and we testify about what we've seen. Yet you people do not accept our testimony.

He testifies about what he has seen and heard, yet no one accepts his testimony.

Jesus answered them, "Even though I'm testifying about myself, my testimony is valid because I know where I've come from and where I'm going. But you don't know where I come from or where I'm going.

In fact, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit immediately heard about him and came and fell down at his feet.

Suddenly, a leper came up to him, fell down before him, and said, "Sir, if you want to, you can make me clean."

While Jesus was telling them these things, an official came up and fell down before him. "My daughter has just died," he said. "But come and lay your hand on her, and she will live."

Then she came and fell down before him, saying, "Lord, help me!"

Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Jesus with her sons. She bowed down in front of him to ask him for a favor.

Then a synagogue leader named Jairus arrived. When he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet

He said, "Lord, I do believe," and worshipped him.

I will raise up a prophet like you from among their relatives, and I will place my words in his mouth so that he may expound everything that I have commanded to them.

In fact, Moses said,

because the words that you gave me I passed on to them. They have received them and know for sure that I came from you. They have believed that you sent me.

Jesus told them, "What have I been telling you all along? I have much to say about you and to condemn you for. But the one who sent me is truthful, and what I've heard from him I declare to the world."

because I haven't spoken on my own authority. Instead, the Father who sent me has himself commanded me what to say and how to speak.

You believe, don't you, that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I don't speak on my own. It is the Father who dwells in me and who carries out his work.

The one who doesn't love me doesn't keep my words. The words that you're hearing me say are not mine, but come from the Father who sent me.

"At that time, the LORD's branch will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of the survivors of Israel and Judah.

"A shoot will come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch will bear fruit from his roots.

"The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I'll raise up a righteous branch for David. He will be a king who rules wisely, and he will administer justice and righteousness in the land.

In those days and at that time I'll cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David, and he will uphold justice and righteousness in the land.

""Listen, High Priest Joshua, you and those companions of yours who sit with you, for these men are a sign that I am presenting my servant, the Branch.

Then tell him, "This is what the LORD of the Heavenly Armies says: "Here is the man whose name is The Branch. He will branch out from where he is and will rebuild the Temple of the LORD.

Jesus told him, "I tell you with certainty, today you will be with me in Paradise."

Jesus kept saying, "Father, forgive them, because they don't know what they're doing." Then they divided his clothes among them by throwing dice.

Then he told the disciple, "Here is your mother." And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home.

About three o'clock, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "Eli, eli, lema sabachthani?", which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

After this, when Jesus realized that everything was now completed, he said (in order to fulfill the Scripture), "I'm thirsty."

After Jesus had taken the wine, he said, "It is finished." Then he bowed his head and released his spirit.

Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice and said, "Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit." After he said this, he breathed his last.

The king will answer them, "I tell all of you with certainty, since you did it for one of the least important of these brothers of mine, you did it for me.'

"The one who receives you receives me, and the one who receives me receives the one who sent me.

and whoever receives a little child like this in my name receives me."

The person who listens to you listens to me, and the person who rejects you rejects me. The person who rejects me rejects the one who sent me."

He dropped to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul! Why are you persecuting me?"

When you sin against your brothers in this way and wound their weak consciences, you are sinning against the Messiah.

God has rescued us from the power of darkness and has brought us into the kingdom of the Son whom he loves,

"Here is my Servant whom I have chosen, whom I love, and with whom I am pleased! I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to unbelievers.

He was still speaking when a bright cloud suddenly overshadowed them. A voice from the cloud said, "This is my Son, whom I love. I am pleased with him. Keep on listening to him!"

Then a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love. I am pleased with you!"

so that we would praise his glorious grace that he gave us in the Beloved One.

In the same way, the Messiah did not take upon himself the glory of being a high priest. No, it was God who said to him, "You are my Son. Today I have become your Father."

You love justice and hate wickedness. That is why God, even your God, has anointed you rather than your companions with the oil of gladness.

He saw that there was no one, and was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so his own arm brought him victory, and his righteous acts upheld him.

"The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I'll raise up a righteous branch for David. He will be a king who rules wisely, and he will administer justice and righteousness in the land.

Then I saw heaven standing open, and there was a white horse! Its rider is named Faithful and True. He administers justice and wages war righteously.

Righteousness will be the sash around his loins, and faithfulness the belt around his waist."

"I've called you in righteousness. I'll take hold of your hand. I'll preserve you and appoint you as a covenant to the people, as a light for the nations,

And again, when he brings his firstborn into the world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him."

Then the men in the boat began to worship Jesus, saying, "You certainly are the Son of God!"

Suddenly, Jesus met them and said, "Greetings!" They went up to him, took hold of his feet, and worshipped him.

After they went into the house and saw the child with his mother Mary, they fell down and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasure sacks and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

They worshipped him and returned to Jerusalem filled with great joy.

When the lamb had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders bowed down in front of him. Each held a harp and a gold bowl full of incense, the prayers of the saints.

No one who denies the Son has the Father. The person who acknowledges the Son also has the Father.

"But I tell you, the Son of Man will acknowledge before God's angels everyone who acknowledges me before people.

If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

"Therefore, everyone who acknowledges me before people I, too, will acknowledge before my Father in heaven.

Then every tongue in one accord, will say that Jesus the Messiah is Lord, while God the Father praising.

God abides in the one who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, and he abides in God.

to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better message than Abel's.

There is one God. There is also one mediator between God and human beings a human, the Messiah Jesus.

However, Jesus has now obtained a more superior ministry, since the covenant he mediates is founded on better promises.

This is why the Messiah is the mediator of a new covenant; so that those who are called may receive the eternal inheritance promised them, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the offenses committed under the first covenant.

For the Messiah did not go into a sanctuary made by human hands that is merely a copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, to appear now in God's presence on our behalf.

My little children, I'm writing these things to you so that you might not sin. Yet if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father Jesus, the Messiah, one who is righteous.

He is also the head of the body, which is the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he himself might have first place in everything.

God has put everything under the Messiah's feet and has made him the head of everything for the good of the church,

Instead, by speaking the truth in love, we will grow up completely and become one with the head, that is, one with the Messiah,

For the husband is the head of his wife as the Messiah is the head of the church. It is he who is the Savior of the body.

He does not hold on to the head, from whom the whole body, which is nourished and held together by its joints and ligaments, grows as God enables it.

You know that your bodies belong to the Messiah, don't you? Should I take what belongs to the Messiah and unite them with a prostitute? Certainly not!

For we are parts of his body of his flesh and of his bones.

In the same way, my brothers, through the Messiah's body you also died as far as the Law is concerned, so that you may belong to another person, the one who was raised from the dead, and may bear fruit for God.

I am jealous of you with God's own jealousy, because I promised you in marriage to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to the Messiah.

What you have heard from the beginning must abide in you. If what you have heard from the beginning abides in you, you will also abide in the Son and in the Father.

But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God." Then they all asked, "Are you, then, the Son of God?" He answered them, "You said it I AM."

I and the Father are one."

If I'm not doing my Father's actions, don't believe me. But if I'm doing them, even though you don't believe me, believe the actions, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father."

The one who sees me sees the one who sent me.

If you have known me, you will also know my Father. From now on you know him and have seen him." Philip told him, "Lord, show us the Father, and that will satisfy us." "Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and you still do not know me?" Jesus asked him. "The person who has seen me has seen the Father. So how can you say, "Show us the Father'? read more.
You believe, don't you, that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I don't speak on my own. It is the Father who dwells in me and who carries out his work.

All that the Father has is mine. That is why I said, "He will take what is mine and declare it to you.'

because all the essence of deity inhabits him in bodily form.

We have all received one gracious gift after another from his abundance,

God has put everything under the Messiah's feet and has made him the head of everything for the good of the church, which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills everything in every way.

until all of us are united in the faith and in the full knowledge of God's Son, and until we attain mature adulthood and the full standard of development in the Messiah.

For God was pleased to have all of his divine essence inhabit him.

With great power, the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was on them all,

We are witnesses of everything Jesus did in the land of the Jews, including Jerusalem. "They hung him on a tree and killed him, but God raised him on the third day and allowed him to appear not to all the people, but to us who were chosen by God to be witnesses and who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

and was declared by the resurrection from the dead to be the powerful Son of God according to the spirit of holiness Jesus the Messiah, our Lord.

After he was arrested according to the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified this very man and killed him using the hands of lawless men. But God raised him up and put an end to suffering of death, since it was impossible for him to be held by it,

You rejected the Holy and Righteous One and asked to have a murderer released to you, and you killed the source of life, whom God raised from the dead. We are witnesses to that.

As usual, Paul entered there and on three Sabbaths discussed the Scriptures with them. He explained and showed them that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead: "This very Jesus whom I proclaim to you is the Messiah."

Then he poured some water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to dry them with the towel that was tied around his waist.

"Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion; cry out, daughter of Jerusalem! Look! Your king is coming to you. He is righteous, and he is able to save. He is humble, and is riding on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Place my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest for your souls,

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah. Although he was rich, for your sakes he became poor, so that you, through his poverty, might become rich.

and lived in all humility, death on a cross obeying.

For by him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether they are kings, lords, rulers, or powers. All things have been created through him and for him.

yet for us there is only one God, the Father, from whom everything came into being and for whom we live. And there is only one Lord, Jesus the Messiah, through whom everything came into being and through whom we live.

Through him all things were made, and apart from him nothing was made that has been made.

and help everyone see how this secret that has been at work was hidden for ages by God, who created all things.

God, having spoken in former times in fragmentary and varied fashion to our forefathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by a Son whom he appointed to be the heir of everything and through whom he also made the universe.

He said, "Go to a certain man in the city and say to him, "The Teacher says, "My time is near. I will celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house."'"

Then he came back to the disciples and told them, "You might as well keep on sleeping and resting. Look! The time is near for the Son of Man to be betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Then the Jewish leaders tried to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him because his hour had not yet come.

Jesus told them, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.

Now before the Passover Festival, Jesus realized that his hour had come to leave this world and return to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

After Jesus had said this, he looked up to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, so that the Son may glorify you.

But the Pharisees kept saying, "He drives out demons by the ruler of demons."

But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man drives out demons only by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons."

But some of them said, "He drives out demons by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons."

And they kept insulting him in many other ways.

"because they had been saying, "He has an unclean spirit."

Are not they the ones who blaspheme the noble Name by which you have been called?

but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, the Messiah is God's power and God's wisdom.

Meanwhile, the child continued to grow and to become strong. He was filled with wisdom, and God's favor rested upon him.

He went to his hometown and began teaching the people in their synagogue in such a way that they were amazed and asked, "Where did this man get this wisdom and these miracles?

The Spirit of the LORD will rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and power, the Spirit of knowledge and fear of the LORD.

In him are stored all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and shouted, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink!

About three o'clock, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "Eli, eli, lema sabachthani?", which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

But others fell on good soil, and when they came up, they produced 100 times as much as was planted." As he said this, he called out, "Let the person who has ears to hear, listen!"

At this point Jesus, still teaching in the Temple, shouted, "So you know me and know where I've come from? I haven't come on my own accord. But the one who sent me is true, and he's the one you don't know.

Then Jesus said loudly, "The one who believes in me does not believe in me only, but also in the one who sent me.

Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice again and died.

He was still speaking when a bright cloud suddenly overshadowed them. A voice from the cloud said, "This is my Son, whom I love. I am pleased with him. Keep on listening to him!"

Then a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love. I am pleased with him!"

There is another who testifies about me, and I know that the testimony he gives about me is true.

Moreover, the Father who sent me has himself testified on my behalf. You have never heard his voice or seen what he looks like,

I'm testifying about myself, and the Father who sent me is testifying about me."

If we accept human testimony, God's testimony is greater, because it is the testimony of God and because he has testified about his Son.

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, "Look, a glutton and a drunk, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' Absolved from every act of sin, is wisdom by her kith and kin."

But the Pharisees kept saying, "He drives out demons by the ruler of demons."

They began to accuse him, "We found this man corrupting our nation, forbidding us to pay taxes to Caesar, and saying that he is the Messiah, a king."

They had false witnesses stand up and say, "This man never stops saying things against this Holy Place and against the Law.

But others kept saying in derision, "They're drunk on sweet wine!"

For we have found this man a perfect pest and an agitator among all Jews throughout the world. He is a ringleader in the sect of the Nazarenes

Therefore I will allot him a portion with the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong; because he poured out his life to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he carried the sins of many, and made intercession for their transgressions."

"Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, in garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in such splendor, marching in his great might? It is I, speaking in vindication, mighty to save.

But I tell you, something greater than the Temple is here!

The queen of the south will stand up at the judgment and condemn the people living today, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon. But look, something greater than Solomon is here!

Now lifted up by God to heaven, a name above all others given, this matchless name possessing. And so, when Jesus' name is called, the knees of everyone should fall, wherever they're residing.

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus the Messiah.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, and he was crushed for our iniquities, and the punishment that made us whole was upon him, and by his bruises we are healed.

He has sent his word to the descendants of Israel and brought them the good news of peace through Jesus the Messiah. This man is the Lord of everyone.

For it is he who is our peace. Through his mortality he made both groups one by tearing down the wall of hostility that divided them.

Through the Son, God also reconciled all things to himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, thereby making peace through the blood of his cross.

I also saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.

Jesus asked them, "The wedding guests can't mourn as long as the groom is with them, can they? But the time will come when the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast."

"At that time, the kingdom from heaven will be comparable to ten bridesmaids who took their oil lamps and went out to meet the groom.

But at midnight there came a shout: "The groom is here! Come out to meet him!'

It is the bridegroom who gets the bride, yet the bridegroom's friend, who merely stands by and listens for him, is overjoyed to hear the bridegroom's voice. That's why this joy of mine is now complete.

He put on righteousness like a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped himself in fury like a cloak.

He asked them, "Why were you looking for me? Didn't you know that I had to be in my Father's house?"

His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will consume me."

Jesus told them, "My food is doing the will of the one who sent me and completing his work.

I must do the work of the one who sent me while it is day. Night is approaching, when no one can work.

God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and because God was with him, he went around doing good and healing everyone who was oppressed by the devil.

This is why it says in Scripture: "Look! I am laying a chosen, precious cornerstone in Zion. The one who believes in him will never be ashamed."

The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

Jesus asked them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures, "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This was the Lord's doing, and it is amazing in our eyes.'?

He is "the stone that was rejected by you builders, which has become the cornerstone.'

having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, the Messiah Jesus himself being the cornerstone.

and from Jesus the Messiah, the witness, the faithful one, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To the one who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood

They will wage war against the lamb, but the lamb will conquer them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings. Those who are called, chosen, and faithful are with him."

At the right time, he will make him known. God is the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

On his robe that covers his thigh he has a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS

"If the world hates you, you should realize that it hated me before you.

The others were furious and began to discuss with each other what they could do to Jesus.

But the citizens of his country hated him and sent a delegation to follow him and to announce, "We don't want this man to rule over us!'

The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify against it that its actions are evil.

But this happened so that what has been written in their Law might be fulfilled: "They hated me for no reason.'

When the high priests and the officials saw him, they shouted, "Crucify him! Crucify him!" Pilate told them, "You take him and crucify him. I find no basis for a charge against him."

Even Herod and his soldiers treated him with contempt and made fun of him. He put a magnificent robe on Jesus and sent him back to Pilate.

So the Jewish leaders began persecuting Jesus, because he kept doing such things on the Sabbath.

They got up, forced Jesus out of the city, and led him to the edge of the hill on which their city was built, intending to throw him off.

After this, Jesus traveled throughout Galilee, because he didn't want to travel in Judea, since the Jewish leaders there were trying to kill him.

"I know that you are Abraham's descendants. Yet you are trying to kill me because you've not received what I've told you.

Again they tried to seize him, but he slipped away from them.

As he was walking along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax collector's desk. Jesus told him, "Follow me!" So Levi got up and followed him.

Jesus told them, "Follow me, and I'll make you fishers of people!"

He immediately called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

When daylight came, he called his disciples and chose twelve of them, whom he also called apostles:

The next day, Jesus decided to go away to Galilee, where he found Philip and told him, "Follow me."

"Then he told me, "Go, because I'll send you far away to the gentiles.'"

This is the builder's son, isn't it? His mother is named Mary, isn't she? His brothers are James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas, aren't they?

"He was despised and rejected by others, and a man of sorrows, intimately familiar with suffering; and like one from whom people hide their faces; and we despised him and did not value him.

Those who passed by kept insulting him, shaking their heads, and saying, "Ha! You who were going to destroy the sanctuary and rebuild it in three days save yourself and come down from the cross!"

Now the Pharisees, who love money, had been listening to all this and began to ridicule Jesus.

Many of them were saying, "He has a demon and is insane. Why bother listening to him?"

Even Herod and his soldiers treated him with contempt and made fun of him. He put a magnificent robe on Jesus and sent him back to Pilate.

Then the men who were holding Jesus in custody began to make fun of him while they beat him.

Twisting some thorns into a victor's crown, they placed it on his head and put a stick in his right hand. They knelt down in front of him and began making fun of him, saying, "Long live the king of the Jews!"

In the same way the high priests, along with the scribes and elders, were also making fun of him. They kept saying,

The soldiers also made fun of Jesus by coming up and offering him sour wine,

For we are God's co-workers. You are God's farmland and God's building.

Then the army told Saul, "Shall Jonathan die, who brought about this great deliverance in Israel? As the LORD lives, not one hair of his head will fall to the ground, because today he did this with God's help."

Then his disciples went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept working with them and confirming the message by the signs that accompanied it.

Since, then, we are working with God, we plead with you not to accept God's grace in vain.

Simon answered, "Master, we have worked hard all night and caught nothing. But if you say so, I'll lower the nets."

So his disciples went to him, woke him up, and kept telling him, "Master! Master! We're going to die!" He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves. They stopped, and there was calm.

Jesus asked, "Who touched me?" While everyone was denying it, Peter and those who were with him said, "Master, the crowds are surrounding you and pressing in on you."

Just as Moses and Elijah were leaving, Peter told Jesus, "Master, it's good that we're here! Let's set up three shelters one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." (Peter didn't know what he was saying.)

John said, "Master, we saw someone driving out demons in your name. We tried to stop him, because he wasn't a follower like us."

and shouted, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!"

He answered, "The person who sowed good seed is the Son of Man,

In the same way, when you see all these things, you'll know that the Son of Man is near, right at the door.

He did not tell them anything without using a parable, though he explained everything to his disciples in private.

"Now this is what the parable means. The seed is God's word.

Then, beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them all the passages of Scripture about himself.

Jesus asked, "Who touched me?" While everyone was denying it, Peter and those who were with him said, "Master, the crowds are surrounding you and pressing in on you."

Such a large crowd gathered that there wasn't room for them, even in front of the door. Jesus was speaking his message to them

because he had healed so many people that everyone who had diseases kept crowding up against him in order to touch him.

So Jesus went with him. A huge crowd kept following him and jostling him.

One day, as the crowd was pressing in on him to listen to God's word, Jesus was standing by the lake of Gennesaret.

His mother and his brothers came to him, but they couldn't get near him because of the crowd.

"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give this testimony to you for the churches. I am the root and descendant of David, the bright morning star."

I can see him, but not right now. I observe him, but from a distance. A star streams forth from Jacob; a scepter arises from Israel. He will crush Moab's forehead, along with all of Seth's descendants.

Therefore we regard the message of the prophets as confirmed beyond doubt, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp that is shining in a gloomy place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

"Just as I have received authority from my Father, I will also give him the morning star.

If you keep my commandments, you'll abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.

But I'm doing what the Father has commanded me, to let the world know that I love the Father. Get up! Let us leave this place."

For just as through one man's disobedience many people were made sinners, so also through one man's obedience many people will be made righteous.

Son though he was, he learned obedience through his sufferings

Then he says, "See, I have come to do your will." He takes away the first in order to establish the second.

Then he told me, "It has happened! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will freely give a drink from the spring of the water of life to the one who is thirsty.

To the person who conquers and continues to do what I've commanded to the end, I will give authority over the nations.

"Just as I have received authority from my Father, I will also give him the morning star.

I'm leaving you at peace. I'm giving you my own peace. I'm not giving it to you as the world gives. So don't let your hearts be troubled, and don't be afraid.

What existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we observed and touched with our own hands this is the Word of life!

In the beginning, the Word existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The Word became flesh and lived among us. We gazed on his glory, the kind of glory that belongs to the Father's unique Son, who is full of grace and truth.

For there are three witnesses in heaven the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one.

He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God.

It was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through suffering as part of his plan to glorify many children,

The Word became flesh and lived among us. We gazed on his glory, the kind of glory that belongs to the Father's unique Son, who is full of grace and truth.

Pilate went outside again and told the Jews, "Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him."

and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,

For the Law appoints as high priests men who are weak, but the promised oath, which came after the Law, results in a Son who is eternally perfect.

After this, Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil.

Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

where he was being tempted by the Devil for 40 days. During that time he ate nothing at all, and when they were over he became hungry.

"You are the ones who have always stood by me in my trials.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses. Instead, we have one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet he never sinned.

He began to teach in their synagogues and was continuously receiving praise from everyone.

Many people spread their coats on the road, while others spread leafy branches that they had cut in the fields.

Then they brought the colt to Jesus and put their coats on it, and Jesus sat upon it.

So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting, "Hosanna! How blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel!"

I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea, and everything that is in them, saying, "To the one who sits on the throne and to the lamb be praise, honor, glory, and power forever and ever!"

There is one God. There is also one mediator between God and human beings a human, the Messiah Jesus.

This is a record of the life of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

and lived in all humility, death on a cross obeying.

But when the appropriate time had come, God sent his Son, born by a woman, born under the Law,

I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by your Name, the Name that you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one.

But if I'm doing them, even though you don't believe me, believe the actions, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father."

You believe, don't you, that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I don't speak on my own. It is the Father who dwells in me and who carries out his work.

I and the Father are one."

"I have given them the glory that you gave me, so that they may be one, just as we are one.

Suddenly, they screamed, "What do you want with us, Son of God? Did you come here to torture us before the proper time?"

"What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are the Holy One of God!"

Whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they would fall down in front of him and scream, "You are the Son of God!"

Even demons came out of many people, screaming, "You are the Son of God!" But Jesus rebuked them and ordered them not to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah.

But the evil spirit told them, "Jesus I know, and I am getting acquainted with Paul, but who are you?"

For you have been given the privilege for the Messiah's sake not only to believe in him but also to suffer for him.

While we are alive, we are constantly being handed over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus may be clearly shown in our mortal bodies.

That is why I take such pleasure in weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and difficulties for the Messiah's sake, for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Then I looked, and there was a white cloud! On the cloud sat someone who was like the Son of Man, with a gold victor's crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.

Among the lamp stands there was someone like the Son of Man. He was wearing a long robe with a gold sash around his chest. His head and his hair were white like wool, in fact, as white as snow. His eyes were like flames of fire, his feet were like glowing bronze refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of raging waters. read more.
In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp, two-edged sword. His face was like the sun when it shines with full force.

Then I saw heaven standing open, and there was a white horse! Its rider is named Faithful and True. He administers justice and wages war righteously. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many royal crowns. He has a name written on him that nobody knows except himself.

However, to all who received him, those believing in his name, he gave authority to become God's children,

"Whoever welcomes a child like this in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but the one who sent me."

"The one who receives you receives me, and the one who receives me receives the one who sent me.

When Jesus came back, the crowd welcomed him, because everyone was expecting him.

Zacchaeus came down quickly and was glad to welcome him into his home.

After this, when Jesus realized that everything was now completed, he said (in order to fulfill the Scripture), "I'm thirsty."

Now before the Passover Festival, Jesus realized that his hour had come to leave this world and return to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

But there are some among you who don't believe..." - because Jesus knew from the beginning those who weren't believing, as well as the one who would betray him.

For he knew who was going to betray him. That's why he said, "Not all of you are clean."

Then Jesus, knowing everything that was going to happen, went forward and asked them, "Who are you looking for?"

Do you think that I came to bring peace on earth? Not at all, I tell you, but rather division!

And there was a great deal of discussion about him among the crowds. Some were saying, "He is a good man," while others were saying, "No, he is deceiving the crowds!"

So there was a division in the crowd because of him.

Some of the Pharisees began to remark, "This man is not from God because he does not keep the Sabbath." But others were saying, "How can a sinful man perform such signs?" And there was a division among them.

Once again there was a division among the Jews because of what Jesus had been saying.

As for me, if I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to myself."

When Jesus came down from the hillside, large crowds followed him.

When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell down in front of him,

When Jesus again had crossed to the other side in a boat, a large crowd gathered around him by the seashore.

The next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a large crowd met Jesus.

Some Pharisees came to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?"

They said this to test him, so that they might have a charge against him. But Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with his finger.

Just then an expert in the Law stood up to test Jesus. He asked, "Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

Others, wanting to test Jesus, kept asking him for a sign from heaven.

But he discerned their craftiness and responded to them,

Just then a woman who had been suffering from chronic bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the tassel of his garment, because she had been saying to herself, "If I just touch his robe, I will get well." When Jesus turned and saw her, he said, "Be courageous, daughter! Your faith has made you well." And from that very hour the woman was well.

because he had healed so many people that everyone who had diseases kept crowding up against him in order to touch him.

They crossed over and came ashore at Gennesaret. When the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word throughout that region and brought him everyone who was sick. They kept begging him to let them touch just the tassel of his garment, and everyone who touched it was completely healed.

The entire crowd was trying to touch him, because power was coming out from him and healing all of them.

That's the way it is with the Son of Man. He did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many people."

Because who is greater, the one who sits at the table, or the one who serves? It is the one at the table, isn't it? But I'm among you as one who serves.

therefore he got up from the table, removed his outer robe, and took a towel and fastened it around his waist. Then he poured some water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to dry them with the towel that was tied around his waist.

Instead, poured out in emptiness, a servant's form did he possess, a mortal man becoming. In human form he chose to be,

They went to Philip (who was from Bethsaida in Galilee) and told him, "Sir, we would like to see Jesus."

When they found him, they told him, "Everyone's looking for you."

At daybreak he left and went to a deserted place, while the crowds kept looking for him. When they came to him, they tried to keep him from leaving them.

He was trying to see who Jesus was, but he couldn't do so due to the crowd, since he was a short man.

When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into these boats and went to Capernaum to look for Jesus.

Therefore I will allot him a portion with the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong; because he poured out his life to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he carried the sins of many, and made intercession for their transgressions."

so the Messiah was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people. And he will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly wait for him.

"He himself bore our sins" in his body on the tree, so that we might die to those sins and live righteously. "By his wounds you have been healed."

You know that the Messiah was revealed to take away sins, and there is not any sin in him.

and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the Law, but one that comes through the faithfulness of the Messiah, the righteousness that comes from God and that depends on faith.

It is because of God that you are in union with the Messiah Jesus, who for us has become wisdom from God, as well as our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.

For the Messiah is the culmination of the Law as far as righteousness is concerned for everyone who believes.

One of his disciples, the one whom Jesus kept loving, had been sitting very close to him.

Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

Jesus burst into tears. So the Jews said, "See how much he loved him!"

I don't call you servants anymore, because a servant doesn't know what his master is doing. But I've called you friends, because I've made known to you everything that I've heard from my Father.

Have the same attitude among yourselves that was also in the Messiah Jesus:

For "Who has known the mind of the Lord so that he can advise him?" However, we have the mind of the Messiah.

Therefore, since the Messiah suffered in a mortal body, you, too, must arm yourselves with the same determination, because the person who has suffered in a mortal body has stopped sinning,

At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from wise and intelligent people and have revealed them to infants.

When all the people had been baptized, Jesus, too, was baptized. While he was praying, heaven opened,

After Jesus had said this, he looked up to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, so that the Son may glorify you.

So they removed the stone.

"Where can wisdom be found? Where is understanding's home? Mankind doesn't appreciate their value; and you won't find it anywhere on earth. The deepest ocean says, "It's not within me.' and the sea says, "You'll never find it with me.' read more.

It cannot be compared to gold and fine glass crystal, nor can it be exchanged for gold-plated weaponry. Don't even bother to mention coral and crystal wisdom is more valuable than a bag of rubies. It can neither be compared with the topaz of Ethiopia nor valued in comparison to pure gold." "From where, then, does wisdom originate? Where does understanding live? It has been concealed from the sight of every living creature and hidden even from the birds in the skies. Abaddon and death said, "We did hear a rumor about it.' God understands how to get there; he knows where they live. For he looks as far as the ends of the earth and sees everything under the sky. "He imparted weight to the wind; he regulated water by his measurement. He set in place ordinances for the rain; and determined the pathway for thunder that accompanies lightning. Then he looked at wisdom, and fixed it in place; he established it, and also examined it. He has commanded mankind: "To fear the Lord that is wisdom; to move away from evil that is understanding.'"

We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain.

His appearance was changed in front of them, his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as light.

Six days later, Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up a high mountain to be alone with him. His appearance was changed in front of them,

While he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes turned dazzling white.

After he had suffered, he had shown himself alive to them by many convincing proofs, appearing to them during a period of 40 days and telling them about the kingdom of God.

So they went and secured the tomb by putting a seal on the stone in the presence of the guards.

After saying this, he showed them his hands and his side, and when they saw the Lord, the disciples were overjoyed.

Look at my hands and my feet, because it's really me. Touch me and look at me, because a ghost doesn't have flesh and bones as you see that I have."

Everyone who does not remain true to the teaching of the Messiah, but goes beyond it, does not have God. The person who remains true to the teaching of the Messiah has both the Father and the Son.

When Jesus had finished saying all these things, the crowds were utterly amazed at his teaching,

He began teaching them many things in parables. While he was teaching them he said,

Jesus replied to them, "My teaching is not mine but comes from the one who sent me.

When they came into the city, these men went to the upstairs room where they had been staying: Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James.

These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;

Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,

He appointed the Twelve: Simon (whom he named Peter),

When evening had come, the disciples went to him and said, "This is a deserted place, and it's already late. Send the crowds away so that they can go into the villages and buy food for themselves."

Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and blessed them. Then he broke the loaves in pieces and kept giving them to his disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.

As the day was drawing to a close, the Twelve came to him and said, "Send the crowd away to the neighboring villages and farms so they can rest and get some food, because we are here in a deserted place."

When Jesus looked up and saw that a large crowd was coming toward him, he asked Philip, "Where can we buy bread for these people to eat?"

Jesus, however, did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people

Now we know that you know everything and don't need to have anyone ask you any questions. Because of this, we believe that you have come from God."

Jesus told him, "Take care of my sheep." He asked him a third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was deeply hurt that he had asked him a third time, "Do you love me?" So he told him, "Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you!"

Then they prayed, "Lord, you know the hearts of all people. Show us which one of these two men you have chosen

Jesus left that place and went to the territory of Tyre and Sidon. He went into a house, not wanting anyone to know he was there. However, it couldn't be kept a secret.

Simon and his companions searched frantically for him.

Then he went home. Such a large crowd gathered again that Jesus and his disciples couldn't even eat.

But when many people saw them leave and recognized them, they hurried on foot from all the towns and arrived ahead of them.

When he saw the crowds, he was deeply moved with compassion for them, because they were troubled and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

When he got out of the boat, he saw a large crowd. He had compassion for them and healed their sick.

Then Jesus called his disciples and said, "I have compassion for the crowd because they have already been with me for three days and have nothing to eat. I don't want to send them away without food, or they may faint on the road."

Now the main point in what we are saying is this: we do have this kind of high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven

But when the Messiah came as a high priest of the good things that have come, he went through the greater and more perfect tent that was not made by human hands and that is not a part of this creation.

and since we have a great high priest over the household of God,

For the Spirit's law of life in the Messiah Jesus has set me free from the Law of sin and death.

The Messiah has set us free so that we may enjoy the benefits of freedom. So keep on standing firm in it, and stop putting yourselves under the yoke of slavery again.

Jesus was driving a demon out of a man who was unable to talk. When the demon had gone out, the man began to speak, and the crowds were amazed.

For we do not preach ourselves, but rather Jesus the Messiah as Lord, and ourselves as merely your servants for Jesus' sake.

We are fools for the Messiah's sake, but you are wise in the Messiah. We are weak, but you are strong. You are honored, but we are dishonored.

"It's the king of Assyria and all of his arrogance! He will rise over all of the river's channels and run over all of its banks. He will sweep on into Judah, overflowing as he passes through, like flood waters reaching up to a person's neck. His outstretched wings will flow as wide as your land, O Immanuel!"

"Therefore the LORD himself will give you a sign. Watch! The virgin is conceiving a child, and will give birth to a son, and his name will be called Immanuel.

"See, a virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name him Immanuel,"

Those who passed by kept insulting him, shaking their heads,

Let the Messiah, the king of Israel, come down from the cross now, since seeing is believing!" Even the men who were crucified with him kept insulting him.

Now one of the criminals hanging there kept insulting him, "You are the Messiah, aren't you? Save yourself"and us!"

Shortly before dawn, Jesus came to them, walking on the sea.

but when they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and began to scream.

After they had rowed about 25 or 30 stadia, they saw Jesus walking on the sea toward their boat. They became terrified.

The next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a large crowd met Jesus.

As they approached the crowd, a man came up to Jesus, knelt down in front of him,

The spirit screamed, shook the child violently, and came out. The boy was like a corpse, and many said that he was dead.

All the people were so stunned that they kept saying to each other, "What is this? A new teaching with authority! He tells even the unclean spirits what to do, and they obey him!"

The men were amazed. "What kind of man is this?" they asked. "Even the winds and the sea obey him!"

The Father loves the Son and has put everything in his hands.

When Jesus went into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed, sick with a fever.

He went up to her, took her by the hand, and helped her up. The fever left her, and she began serving them.

Then Jesus got up to leave the synagogue and went into Simon's house. Now Simon's mother-in-law was sick with a high fever, so they asked Jesus about her.

While Jesus was telling them these things, an official came up and fell down before him. "My daughter has just died," he said. "But come and lay your hand on her, and she will live."

The young lady got up at once and started to walk. She was twelve years old. Instantly they were overcome with astonishment.

Just then a synagogue leader by the name of Jairus arrived. He fell at Jesus' feet and kept begging him to come to his home,

He asked them, "Why are you afraid, you who have little faith?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

So his disciples went to him, woke him up, and kept telling him, "Master! Master! We're going to die!" He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waves. They stopped, and there was calm.

Then he got up, rebuked the wind, and told the sea, "Calm down! Be still!" Then the wind stopped blowing, and there was a great calm.

Just then a woman who had been suffering from chronic bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the tassel of his garment,

Now there was a woman who had been suffering from chronic bleeding for twelve years.

A woman was there who had been suffering from chronic bleeding for twelve years. Although she had spent all she had on doctors, no one could heal her.

because he is worthy of greater glory than Moses in the same way that the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself.

Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am and to see my glory, which you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

"So now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world existed.

He is not here. He has been raised, just as he said. Come and see the place where he was lying.

But he told them, "Stop being astonished! You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised. He is not here. Look at the place where they laid him.

He is not here, but has been raised. Remember what he told you while he was still in Galilee:

This is the builder, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon, isn't it? His sisters are here with us, aren't they?" And they were offended by him.

All the people in the synagogue became furious when they heard this. They got up, forced Jesus out of the city, and led him to the edge of the hill on which their city was built, intending to throw him off.

But first he must suffer a great deal and be rejected by those living today.

When all the people had been baptized, Jesus, too, was baptized. While he was praying, heaven opened,

Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.

In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

When he has driven out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they recognize his voice.

My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me.

I have other sheep that don't belong to this fold. I must lead these also, and they'll listen to my voice. So there will be one flock and one shepherd.

When Jesus arrived on the other side in the region of the Gerasenes, two demon-possessed men met him as they were coming out of the tombs. They were so violent that no one could travel on that road.

They arrived at the other side of the sea in the territory of the Gerasenes.

They landed in the region of the Gerasenes, which is just across the lake from Galilee.

So Jesus reached out his hand, touched him, and said, "I do want to. Be clean!" And instantly his leprosy was made clean.

Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand, touched him, and told him, "I do want to. Be made clean!"

So Jesus reached out his hand and touched him, saying, "I do want to. Be clean!" Instantly the leprosy left him.

Suddenly, a man with a paralyzed hand appeared. The people asked Jesus if it was lawful to heal on Sabbath days, intending to accuse him of doing something wrong.

Jesus went into the synagogue again, and a man with a paralyzed hand was there.

Once, on another Sabbath, Jesus went into a synagogue and began teaching. A man whose right hand was paralyzed was there.

but he has told me, "My grace is all you need, because my power is perfected in weakness." Therefore, I will most happily boast about my weaknesses, so that the Messiah's power may rest on me.

Now to each one of us grace has been given proportionate to the measure of the Messiah's gift.

Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Pilate asked him, "So you are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. I was born for this, and I came into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is committed to the truth listens to my voice."

The Word became flesh and lived among us. We gazed on his glory, the kind of glory that belongs to the Father's unique Son, who is full of grace and truth.

All at once some people brought him a paralyzed man lying on a stretcher. When Jesus saw their faith, he told the paralyzed man, "Be courageous, son! Your sins are forgiven."

Some men were bringing a paralyzed man on a stretcher. They were trying to take him into the house and place him in front of Jesus.

The one who rejects me and doesn't receive my words has something to judge him: The word that I've spoken will judge him on the last day,

He came to his own creation, yet his own people did not receive him.

I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me. Yet if another man comes in his own name, you will accept him.

When he got out of the boat, he saw a large crowd. He had compassion for them and healed their sick.

Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a hillside and sat down. Large crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the blind, the crippled, those unable to talk, and many others. They placed them at his feet, and he healed them. As a result, the crowd was amazed to see those who were unable to talk speaking, the crippled healed, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. So they praised the God of Israel.

Now that we have been justified by his blood, how much more will we be saved from wrath through him!

For God has not destined us to receive wrath but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus, the Messiah,

As for you, my child, be strong by the grace that is in the Messiah Jesus.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with all the saints. Amen.

I no longer live, but the Messiah lives in me, and the life that I am now living in this body I live by the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Live lovingly, just as the Messiah also loved us and gave himself for us as an offering and sacrifice, a fragrant aroma to God.

He asked, "Who are you, Lord?"

Jesus told them, "I tell all of you with certainty, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne in the renewed creation, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, governing the twelve tribes of Israel.

But Jesus came up to them and touched them, saying, "Get up, and stop being afraid."

Then Jesus, deeply moved with compassion, touched their eyes, and at once they could see again. So they followed him.

Then he went up and touched the bier, and the men who were carrying it stopped. He said, "Young man, I say to you, get up!" The man who had been dead sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.

After saying this, he shouted with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" The man who had died came out, his hands and feet tied with strips of cloth, and his face wrapped in a handkerchief. Jesus told them, "Untie him, and let him go."

Jesus asked them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures, "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This was the Lord's doing, and it is amazing in our eyes.'?

Then the whole city went out to meet Jesus, and as soon as they saw him, they begged him to leave their region.

Now, however, that grace has been revealed through the coming of our Savior the Messiah Jesus, who has destroyed death and through the gospel has brought life and release from death into full view.

This life was revealed to us, and we have seen it and testify about it. We declare to you this eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us.

The one who doesn't love me doesn't keep my words. The words that you're hearing me say are not mine, but come from the Father who sent me.

If anyone teaches false doctrine and refuses to agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, and godly teaching,

Therefore, holy brothers, partners in a heavenly calling, keep your focus on Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.

thereby becoming like his brothers in every way, so that he could be a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God and could atone for the people's sins.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the growth of his government and peace there will be no end. He will rule over his kingdom, sitting on the throne of David, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from this time onward and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of the Heavenly Armies will accomplish this.

To him dominion was bestowed, along with glory and a kingdom, so that all nations, nations, and languages are to serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion it will never pass away and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed."

Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus, his disciples, and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus (that is, the son of Timaeus) was sitting by the road.

As Jesus was traveling on from there, two blind men followed him, shouting, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!"

The high priests kept accusing him of many things.

He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he didn't open his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, as a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

He won't shout, or raise his voice, or make it heard in the street.

In fact, a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit immediately heard about him and came and fell down at his feet.

Suddenly, a Canaanite woman from that territory came near and began to shout, "Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed!"

Then Jesus called his disciples and said, "I have compassion for the crowd because they have already been with me for three days and have nothing to eat. I don't want to send them away without food, or they may faint on the road."

The people ate and were filled. Then the disciples picked up the leftover pieces seven large baskets full.

I am in them, and you are in me. May they be completely one, so that the world may know that you sent me and that you have loved them as you loved me.

But if the Messiah is in you, your bodies are dead due to sin, but the spirit is alive due to righteousness.

and was declared by the resurrection from the dead to be the powerful Son of God according to the spirit of holiness Jesus the Messiah, our Lord.

He is the reflection of God's glory and the exact likeness of his being, and he holds everything together by his powerful word. After he had provided a cleansing from sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Highest Majesty

So be informed and discern that seven weeks and 62 weeks will elapse from the issuance of the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed Commander. The plaza and moat will be rebuilt, though in troubled times.

The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and say to him, "We have found the Anointed One!" (which is translated "Messiah").

Then Jesus told them, "O, how foolish you are! How slow you are to believe everything the prophets said!

Jesus answered, "You unbelieving and perverted generation! How much longer must I be with you and put up with you? Bring your son here!"

He is not here, but has been raised. Remember what he told you while he was still in Galilee:

No one is taking it from me; I lay it down of my own free will. I have the authority to lay it down, and I have the authority to take it back again. This is what my Father has commanded me."

He asked them, "What things?"

In fact, Moses said,

Many of them were saying, "He has a demon and is insane. Why bother listening to him?"

The crowd answered, "You have a demon! Who is trying to kill you?"

Jesus took him away from the crowd to be alone with him. Putting his fingers into the man's ears, he touched the man's tongue with saliva.

The man's hearing and speech were restored at once, and he began to talk normally.

He has raised up a mighty Savior for us from the family of his servant David,

because my eyes have seen your salvation,

At this, the unclean spirit shook the man, cried out with a loud voice, and came out of him.

After all, no one can lay any other foundation than the one that is already laid, and that is Jesus the Messiah.

After that, he was seen by more than 500 brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died.

Next he was seen by James, then by all the apostles,

he was buried, he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures and is still alive!

Therefore, if anyone is in the Messiah, he is a new creation. Old things have disappeared, and look! all things have become new!

After all, no one can lay any other foundation than the one that is already laid, and that is Jesus the Messiah.

For the Messiah did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, not with eloquent wisdom, so the cross of the Messiah won't be emptied of its power.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah. Although he was rich, for your sakes he became poor, so that you, through his poverty, might become rich.

I thank the Messiah Jesus, our Lord, who gives me strength, that he has considered me faithful and has appointed me to his service. In the past I was a blasphemer, a persecutor, and a violent man. But I received mercy because I acted ignorantly in my unbelief,

In their case, the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe to keep them from seeing the light of the glorious gospel of the Messiah, who is the image of God.

At this, the high priest stood up and asked Jesus, "Don't you have any answer to what these men are testifying against you?" But Jesus was silent. Then the high priest told him, "I command you by the living God to tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God!"

Therefore, because he always lives to intercede for them, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him.

Therefore I will allot him a portion with the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong; because he poured out his life to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he carried the sins of many, and made intercession for their transgressions."

So Jesus asked the Twelve, "You don't want to leave, too, do you?" Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. Mary was the woman who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped his feet with her hair. Her brother Lazarus was the one who was ill. So the sisters sent word to Jesus and told him, "Lord, the one whom you love is ill." read more.
But when Jesus heard it, he said, "This illness isn't meant to end in death. It's for God's glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it." Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. Yet, when he heard that Lazarus was ill, he stayed where he was for two more days. After this, he told the disciples, "Let's go back to Judea." The disciples told him, "Rabbi, the Jewish leaders were just now trying to stone you to death, and you are going back there again?" Jesus replied, "There are twelve hours in the day, aren't there? If anyone walks during the day he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if anyone walks at night he stumbles, because the light is not in him." These were the things he said. Then after this, he told them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I'm leaving to wake him up." So the disciples told him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will get well." Jesus, however, had been speaking about his death, but they thought that he was speaking about resting or sleeping. Then Jesus told them plainly, "Lazarus has died. For your sake I'm glad that I wasn't there, so that you may believe. But let's go to him." Then Thomas, who was called the Twin, told his fellow disciples, "Let's go, too, so that we may die with him!" When Jesus arrived, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about fifteen stadia away, and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them about their brother. As soon as Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, while Mary stayed at home. Martha told Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever you ask of God, he will give it to you." Jesus told her, "Your brother will rise again." Martha told him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day." Jesus told her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The person who believes in me, even though he dies, will live. Indeed, everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe that?" "Yes, Lord," she told him. "I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one who was to come into the world." When she had said this, she went away and called her sister Mary and told her privately, "The Teacher is here and is calling for you!" As soon as Mary heard this, she got up quickly and went to him. Now Jesus had not yet arrived at the village but was still at the place where Martha had met him. When the Jews who had been with her, consoling her in the house, saw Mary get up quickly and go out, they followed her, thinking that she had gone to the tomb to cry there. As soon as Mary came to where Jesus was and saw him, she fell down at his feet and told him, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother wouldn't have died." When Jesus saw her crying, and the Jews who had come with her crying, he was greatly troubled in spirit and deeply moved. He asked, "Where have you put him?" They told him, "Lord, come and see." Jesus burst into tears. So the Jews said, "See how much he loved him!" But some of them said, "Surely the one who opened the eyes of the blind man could have kept this man from dying, couldn't he?" Groaning deeply again, Jesus came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone was lying in front of it. Jesus said, "Remove the stone." Martha, the dead man's sister, told him, "Lord, there must be a stench by now, because he's been dead for four days." Jesus told her, "I told you that if you believed you would see God's glory, didn't I?" So they removed the stone. Then Jesus looked upward and said, "Father, I thank you for hearing me. I know that you always hear me, but I have said this for the sake of the crowd standing here, so that they may believe that you sent me." After saying this, he shouted with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" The man who had died came out, his hands and feet tied with strips of cloth, and his face wrapped in a handkerchief. Jesus told them, "Untie him, and let him go."

But he turned and rebuked them, and they all went on to another village.

However, after I have been raised, I will go to Galilee ahead of you."

Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead. He is going ahead of you into Galilee, and you will see him there. Remember, I have told you!"

While Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers Simon (also called Peter) and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea, because they were fishermen.

Going on from there he saw two other brothers James, son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee repairing their nets. When he called them,

Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard when a servant girl came up to him and said, "You, too, were with Jesus the Galilean."

They answered him, "You aren't from Galilee, too, are you? Search and see that no prophet comes from Galilee."

So he went throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

So he continued to preach in the synagogues of Galilee.

Now when Jesus realized that the Pharisees had heard he was making and baptizing more disciples than John

he left Judea and went back to Galilee.

Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and from across the Jordan followed him.

But there will be no gloom for her who was in distress. Formerly, he brought contempt to the region of Zebulun and the region of Naphtali, but in the future he will have made glorious the way of the sea, the territory beyond the Jordan Galilee of the nations. The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; for those living in a land of deep darkness, a light has shined upon them.

When he arrived in Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him because they had seen everything that he had done in Jerusalem during the festival and because they, too, had gone to the festival.

For the Messiah did not go into a sanctuary made by human hands that is merely a copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, to appear now in God's presence on our behalf.

where Jesus, our forerunner, has gone on our behalf, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with his own blood he went into the Most Holy Place once for all and secured our eternal redemption.

He must remain in heaven until the time of universal restitution, which God announced long ago through the voice of his holy prophets.

who has gone to heaven and is at the right hand of God, where angels, authorities, and powers have been made subject to him.

Then Jesus approached them and told them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

We need such a high priest one who is holy, innocent, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.

This is, in fact, what you were called to do, because: The Messiah also suffered for you and left an example for you to follow in his steps. "He never sinned, and he never told a lie."

Husbands, love your wives as the Messiah loved the church and gave himself for it, so that he might make it holy by cleansing it, washing it with water and the word, and might present the church to himself in all its glory, without a spot or wrinkle or anything of the kind, but holy and without fault.

"Sanctify them by the truth. Your word is truth.

Think about the one who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you may not become tired and give up.

Now it happened that while Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and much to his amazement, he saw a man standing in front of him, holding a drawn sword in his hand! Joshua approached him and asked him, "Are you one of us, or are you with our enemies?" "Neither," he answered. "I have come as commander of the LORD's Army." Joshua immediately fell on his face to the earth and worshipped, saying to him, "Lord, what do you have for your servant by way of command?" The commander of the LORD's Army replied to Joshua, "Remove your sandals from your feet, because the place where you're standing is holy." So Joshua did so.

They had a glorified appearance, and were discussing Jesus' departure that he would shortly bring about in Jerusalem.

For the people who live in Jerusalem and their leaders, not knowing who Jesus was, condemned him and so fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath.

When they had finished doing everything that was written about him, they took him down from the tree and placed him in a tomb.

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones to death those who have been sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were unwilling!

When he came closer and saw the city, he began to grieve over it:

Both the crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed him kept shouting, "Hosanna to the Son of David! How blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!" When he came into Jerusalem, the whole city was trembling with excitement. The people were asking, "Who is this?"

Now during the day Jesus would teach in the Temple, but when evening came he would go out and spend the night on what is called the Mount of Olives. And all the people would get up early in the morning to listen to him in the Temple.

When he arrived in Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him because they had seen everything that he had done in Jerusalem during the festival and because they, too, had gone to the festival.

Jacob fathered Joseph, the husband of Mary, who was the mother of Jesus, who is called the Messiah.

He asked them, "But who do you say I am?" "God's Messiah," Peter replied.

Now a man named Simeon was in Jerusalem. This man was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the one who would comfort Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

and asked him, "Are you the Coming One, or should we wait for someone else?"

Just then she came forward and began to thank God and to speak about Jesus to everyone who was waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.

May Israel's deliverance come from Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, Jacob will rejoice, and Israel will be glad. A Davidic Psalm.

He asked her, "What do you want?" She told him, "Promise that in your kingdom these two sons of mine will sit on your right and on your left."

But we kept hoping that he would be the one to redeem Israel. What is more, this is now the third day since these things occurred.

Now those who had gathered together began to ask Jesus, "Lord, is this the time when you will restore the kingdom to Israel?"

This is the builder, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon, isn't it? His sisters are here with us, aren't they?" And they were offended by him.

"He was despised and rejected by others, and a man of sorrows, intimately familiar with suffering; and like one from whom people hide their faces; and we despised him and did not value him.

He came to his own creation, yet his own people did not receive him.

Which of the prophets did your ancestors fail to persecute? They killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One, and now you have become his betrayers and murderers.

who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, who have persecuted us, and who please neither God nor any group of people,

So be informed and discern that seven weeks and 62 weeks will elapse from the issuance of the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed Commander. The plaza and moat will be rebuilt, though in troubled times.

The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor a ruler's staff from between his feet, until the one comes, who owns them both, and to him will belong the allegiance of nations.

To the Israelis belong the patriarchs, and from them, the Messiah descended, who is God over all, the one who is forever blessed. Amen.

Furthermore, it is obvious that our Lord was a descendant of Judah, and Moses said nothing about priests coming from that tribe.

Therefore, whatever you want people to do for you, do the same for them, because this summarizes the Law and the Prophets."

Jesus told him, ""You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is exactly like it: "You must love your neighbor as yourself.' read more.
All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments."

"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I didn't come to destroy them, but to fulfill them,

The LORD was pleased, for the sake of his vindication, that he should magnify his Law and make it glorious.

The Holy Spirit was indicating by this that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first part of the tent was still standing.

For the Law, being only a reflection of the blessings to come and not their substance, can never make perfect those who come near by the same sacrifices repeatedly offered year after year.

But when the Messiah came as a high priest of the good things that have come, he went through the greater and more perfect tent that was not made by human hands and that is not a part of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with his own blood he went into the Most Holy Place once for all and secured our eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are unclean purifies them physically, read more.
how much more will the blood of the Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from dead actions so that we may serve the living God!

Day after day every priest stands and repeatedly offers the same sacrifices that can never take away sins. But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, "he sat down at the right hand of God." Since that time, he has been waiting for his enemies to be made a footstool for his feet. read more.
For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and shouted, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink!

While Jesus was in Jerusalem for the Passover Festival, many people believed in him because they saw the signs that he was doing.

Now the Jewish Festival of Tents was approaching.

But after his brothers had gone up to the festival, he went up himself, not openly but, as it were, in secret.

his body must not remain overnight on the tree. You must bury him that same day, because cursed of God is the one who has been hanged on a tree. Don't defile your land that the LORD is about to give you as your inheritance."

The Messiah redeemed us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse for us. For it is written, "A curse on everyone who is hung on a tree!"

For I tell you that the Messiah became a servant of the circumcised on behalf of God's truth in order to confirm the promises given to our ancestors,

After eight days had passed, the infant was circumcised and named Jesus, the name given him by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I didn't come to destroy them, but to fulfill them, because I tell all of you with certainty that until heaven and earth disappear, not one letter or one stroke of a letter will disappear from the Law until everything has been accomplished.

But when the appropriate time had come, God sent his Son, born by a woman, born under the Law,

The LORD was pleased, for the sake of his vindication, that he should magnify his Law and make it glorious.

Then I said, "Here I am! I have come! In the scroll of the book it is written about me. I delight to do your will, my God. Your Law is part of my inner being."

In the same way, my brothers, through the Messiah's body you also died as far as the Law is concerned, so that you may belong to another person, the one who was raised from the dead, and may bear fruit for God.

They are like a person building a house, who dug a deep hole to lay the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the floodwaters pushed against that house but couldn't shake it, because it had been founded on the rock.

She had a sister named Mary, who sat down at the Lord's feet and kept listening to what he was saying.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is fair, whatever is pure, whatever is acceptable, whatever is commendable, if there is anything of excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy keep thinking about these things.

For you have died, and your life has been safely guarded by the Messiah in God.

He reveals what is profoundly mysterious and knows what is in the darkness; with him dwells light.

But God has revealed those things to us by his Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the deep things of God.

But he delights in the LORD's instruction, and meditates in his instruction day and night.

you will be able to understand, along with all the saints, what is wide, long, high, and deep that is, you will know the love of the Messiah which transcends knowledge, and will be filled with all the fullness of God.

He must be well thought of by outsiders, so he doesn't fall into disgrace and the trap set for him by the Devil.

The only thing that matters is that you continue to live as good citizens in a manner worthy of the gospel of the Messiah. Then, whether I come to see you or whether I stay away, I may hear all about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, struggling with one mind for the faith of the gospel,

Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his noble conduct that his actions are done humbly and wisely.

Since everything will be destroyed in this way, think of the kind of holy and godly people you ought to be

so that you may win the respect of outsiders, and have need of nothing.

Indeed, everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe that?"

Now, however, that grace has been revealed through the coming of our Savior the Messiah Jesus, who has destroyed death and through the gospel has brought life and release from death into full view.

Jesus told him, "I tell you with certainty, today you will be with me in Paradise."

Truly, I tell all of you emphatically, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death."

Then Elijah appeared to them, accompanied by Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.

He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!"

"You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can't be hidden.

"No one lights a lamp and puts it in a hiding place or under a basket, but on a lamp stand, so that those who enter may see its light.

For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display in last place, like men condemned to death. We have become a spectacle for the world, for angels, and for people to stare at.

In him was life, and that life brought light to humanity.

Just as the Father has life in himself, so also he has granted the Son to have life in himself,

The person who has the Son has this life. The person who does not have the Son of God does not have this life.

so that, just as sin ruled by bringing death, so also grace might rule by bringing justification that results in eternal life through Jesus the Messiah, our Lord.

Jesus told her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The person who believes in me, even though he dies, will live.

The thief comes only to steal, slaughter, and destroy. I've come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank from the spiritual rock that went with them. That rock was the Messiah.

Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will also live because of me.

Therefore, since the children have flesh and blood, he himself also shared the same things, so that by his death he might destroy the one who has the power of death (that is, the Devil)

The Word became flesh and lived among us. We gazed on his glory, the kind of glory that belongs to the Father's unique Son, who is full of grace and truth.

For it is clear that he did not come to help angels. No, he came to help Abraham's descendants,

For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also came through a man. For as in Adam all die, so also in the Messiah will all be made alive.

The first man came from the dust of the earth; the second man came from heaven.

Now I want you to realize that the Messiah is the head of every man, and man is the head of the woman, and God is the head of the Messiah.

and lived in all humility, death on a cross obeying.

Instead, poured out in emptiness, a servant's form did he possess, a mortal man becoming. In human form he chose to be,

Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a hiding place from storms, like streams of water in the desert, in the shadow of a great rock in an exhausted land.

"Fellow Israelis, listen to these words: Jesus from Nazareth was a man authenticated to you by God through miracles, wonders, and signs that God performed through him among you, as you yourselves know.

and didn't need anyone to tell him what people were like, because he himself knew what was in every person.

Jesus told them, "Truly, I tell all of you emphatically, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. The bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." Then they told him, "Sir, give us this bread all the time." read more.
Jesus told them, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never become hungry, and whoever believes in me will never become thirsty.

whom God offered as a place where atonement by the Messiah's blood would occur through faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because he had waited patiently to deal with sins committed in the past.

Behind the second curtain was the part of the tent called the Most Holy Place,

Just as you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be one in us, so that the world may believe that you sent me.

and the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost."

But the Pharisees and the scribes kept complaining, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them."

But all the people who saw this began to complain: "Jesus is going to be the guest of a notorious sinner!"

The Pharisees and their scribes started complaining to Jesus' disciples, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?"

Then the Jewish leaders began grumbling about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven." They kept saying, "This is Jesus, the son of Joseph, isn't it, whose father and mother we know? So how can he say, "I have come down from heaven'?" Jesus answered them, "Stop grumbling among yourselves.

Then the Jewish leaders debated angrily with each other, asking, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"

We need such a high priest one who is holy, innocent, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.

Since you know that he is righteous, you also know that everyone who practices righteousness has been fathered by God.

Son though he was, he learned obedience through his sufferings

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees told Jesus, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from you." But he replied to them, "An evil and adulterous generation craves a sign. Yet no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah,

Then the disciples came and asked him, "Do you realize that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this statement?"

None of the authorities or Pharisees has believed in him, have they?

Some Pharisees came to him in order to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?"

One of them, an expert in the Law, tested him by asking,

Then the Pharisees went and planned how to trap Jesus in conversation. They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. They said, "Teacher, we know that you are sincere and that you teach the way of God truthfully. You don't favor any individual, because you pay no attention to external appearance.

Now the Pharisees, who love money, had been listening to all this and began to ridicule Jesus.

When the high priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they knew that he was talking about them.

Then the disciples came and asked him, "Do you realize that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this statement?"

Now the Pharisee who had invited Jesus saw this and told himself, "If this man were a prophet, he would have known who is touching him and what kind of woman she is. She's a sinner!"

The Pharisees saw this and asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"

Now all the tax collectors and sinners kept coming to listen to Jesus. But the Pharisees and the scribes kept complaining, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them."

Jesus told them, "Watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees!"

How can you fail to understand that I wasn't talking to you about bread? Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees!" Then they understood that he did not say to beware of the yeast used in bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

You blind guides! You filter out a gnat, yet swallow a camel!

You blind fools! What is more important, the gold or the sanctuary that made the gold holy?

When the Pharisees and Sadducees arrived, in order to test Jesus they asked him to show them a sign from heaven.

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees told Jesus, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from you."

Now one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to eat with him. So he went to the Pharisee's home and took his place at the table.

After Jesus had said this, a Pharisee invited him to have a meal with him. So Jesus went and took his place at the table.

"How terrible it will be for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door to the kingdom from heaven in people's faces. You don't go in yourselves, and you don't allow those who are trying to enter to go in. "How terrible it will be for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You devour widows' houses and say long prayers to cover it up. Therefore, you will receive greater condemnation! "How terrible it will be for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! "How terrible it will be for you, blind guides! You say, "Whoever swears an oath by the sanctuary is excused, but whoever swears an oath by the gold of the sanctuary must keep his oath.' You blind fools! What is more important, the gold or the sanctuary that made the gold holy? Again you say, "Whoever swears an oath by the altar is excused, but whoever swears by the gift that is on it must keep his oath.' You blind men! Which is more important, the gift or the altar that makes the gift holy? Therefore, the one who swears an oath by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. The one who swears an oath by the sanctuary swears by it and by the one who lives there. And the one who swears an oath by heaven swears by God's throne and by the one who sits on it. "How terrible it will be for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your mint, dill, and cummin, but have neglected the more important matters of the Law: justice, mercy, and faithfulness. These are the things you should have practiced, without neglecting the others. You blind guides! You filter out a gnat, yet swallow a camel! "How terrible it will be for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but on the inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup, so that its outside may also be clean. "How terrible it will be for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs that look beautiful on the outside but inside are full of dead people's bones and every kind of impurity. In the same way, on the outside you look righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. "How terrible it will be for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous. Then you say, "If we had been living in the days of our ancestors, we would have had no part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.' Therefore, you testify against yourselves that you are descendants of those who murdered the prophets. Then finish what your ancestors started! You snakes, you children of serpents! How can you escape being condemned to hell?

But he replied to them, "An evil and adulterous generation craves a sign. Yet no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah,

You snakes, you children of serpents! How can you escape being condemned to hell?

because I tell you, unless your righteousness greatly exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom from heaven!"

Now when Jesus realized that the Pharisees had heard he was making and baptizing more disciples than John although it was not Jesus who did the baptizing but his disciples he left Judea and went back to Galilee.

How terrible it will be for you! You are like unmarked graves people walk on them without realizing it."

The scribes and the Pharisees were watching Jesus closely to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, in order to find a way of accusing him of doing something wrong.

Moreover, the one who sent me is with me. He has never left me alone, because I always do what pleases him."

Jesus told him, "Foxes have holes and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to rest."

Moving on from there, Jesus went into their synagogue.

Then Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been raised. As was his custom, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day. When he stood up to read,

because where two or three have come together in my name, I am there among them."

Furthermore, I tell all of you with certainty that if two of you agree on earth about anything you request, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven,

Day after day every priest stands and repeatedly offers the same sacrifices that can never take away sins. But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, "he sat down at the right hand of God."

Why, then, was the Law added? Because of transgressions, until the descendant came about whom the promise pertained. It was put into effect through angels by means of a mediator.

Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his descendant. It doesn't say "descendants," referring to many, but "your descendant," referring to one person, who is the Messiah.

""The LORD also announces to you: "The LORD will himself build a house for you. When your life is complete and you go to join your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring after you, who will come forth from your body, and I will fortify his kingdom. He will build a Temple dedicated to my Name, and I will make the throne of his kingdom last forever.

"Because I called out to you and you refused to respond I appealed, but no one paid attention

Yet my people didn't obey my voice; Israel didn't submit to me.

Therefore, whoever rejects this instruction is not rejecting human authority but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

But the Pharisees and the experts in the Law rejected God's plan for themselves by refusing to be baptized by John.

The LORD told Samuel, "Listen to the people in all that they say to you. In fact, it's not you they have rejected, but rather they have rejected me from being their king.

For you know that afterwards, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected because he could not find any opportunity to repent, even though he begged to repent with tears.

Indeed, rebellion is the sin of divination, and arrogance is iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected this message from the LORD, he has rejected you from being king."

so the LORD rejected all of the descendants of Israel, afflicted them, and handed them over to the control of plunderers until he had thrown them away from his presence.

"But he replied, "I tell all of you with certainty, I don't know you!'

But he will tell you, "I don't know where you come from. Get away from me, all you who practice evil!'

The one who rejects me and doesn't receive my words has something to judge him: The word that I've spoken will judge him on the last day,

He came to his own creation, yet his own people did not receive him.

I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me. Yet if another man comes in his own name, you will accept him.

But they all shouted out together, "Away with this man! Release Barabbas for us!"

Moreover, the one who sent me is with me. He has never left me alone, because I always do what pleases him."

He kept repeating, "Abba! Father! All things are possible for you. Take this cup away from me. Yet not what I want but what you want."

Jesus told Peter, "Put your sword back into its sheath. Shouldn't I drink the cup that the Father has given me?"

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him to life on the last day.

Don't be amazed at this, because the time is approaching when everyone in their graves will hear the Son of Man's voice

And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything that he has given me, but should raise it to life on the last day. This is my Father's will: That everyone who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him to life on the last day."

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, "Look! He's a glutton and a drunk, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!'

Those who passed by kept insulting him, shaking their heads,

but with righteousness he will judge the needy, and decide with equity for earth's poor. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and the wicked will be killed with the breath of his lips.

because he has set a day when he is going to judge the world with justice through a man whom he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead."

Then I saw heaven standing open, and there was a white horse! Its rider is named Faithful and True. He administers justice and wages war righteously.

May he rule your people with right decisions and your oppressed ones with justice.

But about the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the scepter of your kingdom is a righteous scepter.

Your throne, God, exists forever and ever, and the scepter of your kingdom is a righteous scepter.

"Look, a king will reign in righteousness, and rulers will rule with justice.

In his time Judah will be delivered and Israel will dwell in safety. This is the name by which he will be known: "The LORD Our Righteousness.'

A mighty king who loves justice, you have established fairness. You have exercised justice and righteousness over Jacob.

You love justice and hate wickedness. That is why God, even your God, has anointed you rather than your companions with the oil of gladness.

You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. That is why God, your God, anointed you rather than your companions with the oil of gladness."

It is because of God that you are in union with the Messiah Jesus, who for us has become wisdom from God, as well as our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.

He put on righteousness like a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped himself in fury like a cloak.

He saw that there was no one, and was appalled that there was no one to intervene; so his own arm brought him victory, and his righteous acts upheld him.

But Jesus answered him, "Let it be this way for now, because this is the proper way for us to fulfill all righteousness."

Seventy weeks have been decreed concerning your people and your holy city: to restrain transgression, to put an end to sin, to make atonement for lawlessness, to establish everlasting righteousness, to conclude vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.

For the Messiah is the culmination of the Law as far as righteousness is concerned for everyone who believes.

Righteousness will be the sash around his loins, and faithfulness the belt around his waist."

But the Sun of Righteousness will arise with healing in its light for those who fear my name. You will go out and leap like calves released from their stalls

In the great congregation I have proclaimed the righteous good news. Behold, I did not seal my lips, LORD, as you know.

Until the day breaks and the shadows flee, turn around, my beloved, and be like a gazelle or a young stag on the rugged mountains.

My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Look, there he stands behind our wall, looking through the windows, gazing through the lattice.

Then Jesus went down to Capernaum, a city in Galilee, and began teaching the people on Sabbath days.

Once, on another Sabbath, Jesus went into a synagogue and began teaching. A man whose right hand was paralyzed was there.

Then Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been raised. As was his custom, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day. When he stood up to read,

Therefore, the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."

"Teacher, Moses said, "If a man dies having no children, his brother must marry the widow and have children for his brother.' Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his widow to his brother. The same thing happened with the second brother, and then the third, and finally with the rest of the brothers. read more.
Finally, the woman died, too. Now in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be, since all of them had married her?" Jesus answered them, "You are mistaken because you don't know the Scriptures or God's power, because in the resurrection, people neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels in heaven. As for the resurrection from the dead, haven't you read what was spoken to you by God when he said, "I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living."

"Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies and leaves a wife but no child, he should marry the widow and have children for his brother. There were seven brothers. The first one married and died without having children. Then the second married her and died without having children, and so did the third. read more.
None of the seven left any children. Last of all, the woman died, too. In the resurrection, whose wife will she be, since all seven had married her?" Jesus answered them, "Aren't you mistaken because you don't know the Scriptures or God's power? When people rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels in heaven. As for the dead being raised, haven't you read in the book of Moses, in the story about the bush, how God said, "I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!"

When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they met together in the same place.

When the Pharisees and Sadducees arrived, in order to test Jesus they asked him to show them a sign from heaven.

For the Son of Man came to save the lost."

This is a trustworthy saying that deserves complete acceptance: To this world Messiah came, sinful people to reclaim.

Therefore, because he always lives to intercede for them, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him.

"Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, in garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in such splendor, marching in his great might? It is I, speaking in vindication, mighty to save.

Then Jesus told him, "Today salvation has come to this home, because this man is also a descendant of Abraham,

Here is the LORD! Proclaim to the ends of the earth, say to the inhabitants of Zion: "See, your salvation is coming! See, his reward is with him, and his recompenses are before him.'

"Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion; cry out, daughter of Jerusalem! Look! Your king is coming to you. He is righteous, and he is able to save. He is humble, and is riding on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

It was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through suffering as part of his plan to glorify many children,

Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him would have eternal life.

and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,

he says: "It is too small a thing for you to be my servant, to raise up the tribes of Israel and bring back those of Jacob I have preserved. I'll also make you as a light to the nations, to be my salvation to the ends of the earth.

God has exalted to his right hand this very man as our Leader and Savior in order to extend repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.

He has raised up a mighty Savior for us from the family of his servant David,

because both the one who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified all have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers

That is why Jesus, in order to sanctify the people by his own blood, also suffered outside the city gate.

"Watch out! I'm sending my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly, the LORD you are looking for will come to his Temple. He is the messenger of the covenant whom you desire. Watch out! He is coming!" says the LORD of the Heavenly Armies.

When the angels had left them and gone back to heaven, the shepherds told one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see what has taken place that the Lord has told us about." So they went quickly and found Mary and Joseph with the baby, who was lying in the feeding trough.

Jesus told them, "My food is doing the will of the one who sent me and completing his work.

Now before the Passover Festival, Jesus realized that his hour had come to leave this world and return to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

You are the most handsome of Adam's descendants; grace has anointed your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever. Strap your sword to your side, mighty warrior, along with your honor and majesty. In your majesty ride forth for the cause of truth, humility, and righteousness; and your strong right hand will teach you awesome things. read more.
Your arrows are sharpened to penetrate the hearts of the king's enemies. People will fall under you. Your throne, God, exists forever and ever, and the scepter of your kingdom is a righteous scepter. You love justice and hate wickedness. That is why God, even your God, has anointed you rather than your companions with the oil of gladness. All your clothes are scented with myrrh, aloes, and cassia. From ivory palaces stringed instruments have made you glad. The king's daughters are among your honorable women; the queen, dressed in gold from Ophir, has taken her place at your right hand." Listen, daughter! Consider and pay attention. Forget your people and your father's house, and the king will greatly desire your beauty. Because he is your lord, you should bow in respect before him. The daughter of Tyre will come with a wedding gift; wealthy people will entreat your favor. In her chamber, the king's daughter is glorious; her clothing is embroidered with gold thread. In embroidered garments she is presented to the king. Her virgin companions who follow her train will be presented to you. Filled with joy and gladness, they are presented when they enter the king's palace. Your sons will take the place of your ancestors, and you will set them up as princes in all the earth. From generation to generation, I will cause your name to be remembered. Therefore people will thank you forever and ever. To the Director: A song by the Sons of Korah, to the tune of "The Maidens".

Jesus answered them, "Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will rebuild it."

But the sanctuary he was speaking about was his own body.

But he told them, "You see all these things, don't you? I tell all of you with certainty, there isn't a single stone here that will be left standing on top of another. They will all be torn down."

"Do you see these large buildings?" Jesus responded. "Not one stone here will be left on another that will not be torn down."

"As for these things that you see, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another that won't be knocked down."

"Watch out! I'm sending my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly, the LORD you are looking for will come to his Temple. He is the messenger of the covenant whom you desire. Watch out! He is coming!" says the LORD of the Heavenly Armies.

I will shake all nations, and the One desired by all nations will come. Then I will fill this house with glory,' says the LORD of the Heavenly Armies.

Then the Devil took him to the Holy City and had him stand on the highest point of the Temple.

The Devil also took him into Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the Temple. He told Jesus, "Since you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here,

Led by the Spirit, he went into the Temple. When the parents brought the child Jesus to do for him what was customary under the Law,

When the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took Jesus up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord,

Then Jesus went into the Temple, threw out everyone who was selling and buying in the Temple, and overturned the moneychangers' tables and the chairs of those who sold doves. He told them, "It is written, "My house is to be called a house of prayer,' but you are turning it into a hideout for bandits!"

After making a whip out of cords, he drove all of them out of the Temple, including the sheep and the cattle. He scattered the coins of the moneychangers and knocked over their tables. Then he told those who were selling the doves, "Take these things out of here! Stop making my Father's house a marketplace!" His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will consume me."

Day after day I was with you in the Temple teaching, yet you didn't arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled."

When the Pharisees and Sadducees arrived, in order to test Jesus they asked him to show them a sign from heaven.

Just then an expert in the Law stood up to test Jesus. He asked, "Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

Recognizing their wickedness, Jesus asked, "Why are you testing me, you hypocrites?

But he answered, "It is written, "One must not live on bread alone, but on every word coming out of the mouth of God.'"

Then Jesus told him, "Go away, Satan! Because it is written, "You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.'"

Jesus responded to him, "It is also written, "You must not tempt the Lord your God.'"

"Simon, Simon, listen! Satan has asked permission to sift all of you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your own faith may not fail. When you have come back, you must strengthen your brothers."

Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses. Instead, we have one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet he never sinned.

So the Devil left him, and angels came and began ministering to him.

He was in the wilderness for 40 days being tempted by Satan. He was among wild animals, and angels were ministering to him.

He kept repeating, "Abba! Father! All things are possible for you. Take this cup away from me. Yet not what I want but what you want."

Jesus told Peter, "Put your sword back into its sheath. Shouldn't I drink the cup that the Father has given me?"

Jesus told them, "My food is doing the will of the one who sent me and completing his work.

Moreover, the one who sent me is with me. He has never left me alone, because I always do what pleases him."

Jesus left that place and went to the territory of Tyre and Sidon. He went into a house, not wanting anyone to know he was there. However, it couldn't be kept a secret.

Then Jesus left that place and went to the region of Tyre and Sidon.

Jerusalem, Idumea, from across the Jordan, and from the region around Tyre and Sidon followed him. They came to him because they kept hearing about everything he was doing.

Then Jesus came down with them and stood on a level place, along with many of his disciples and a large gathering of people from all over Judea, Jerusalem, and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon.

"How terrible it will be for you, Chorazin! How terrible it will be for you, Bethsaida! Because if the miracles that happened in you had taken place in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. Indeed I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on Judgment Day than for you!

We came in sight of Cyprus, and leaving it on our left, we sailed on to Syria and landed at Tyre because the ship was to unload its cargo there. So we located some disciples and stayed there for seven days. Through the Spirit, they kept telling Paul not to go to Jerusalem,

Now Herod had been in a violent quarrel with the people of Tyre and Sidon. So they came to him as a group. After they had won over Blastus, who oversaw security for the king's sleeping quarters, they asked for a peace agreement because their country depended on the king's country for food.

And this is eternal life: to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent Jesus the Messiah.

Jesus answered, "The most important is, "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord,

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah. Although he was rich, for your sakes he became poor, so that you, through his poverty, might become rich.

I will boast about this man, but as for myself I will boast only about my weaknesses.
