A potato cactus seed is a Farming seed from which potato cacti may be grown, requiring level 86 Farming. It is planted in the cactus patches in Al Kharid, Het's Oasis, the Imperial district in Menaphos, and on northern Anachronia just south-east of the northern totem location. This patch does not need watering. It can be protected by paying a farmer ten watermelons; this is unnecessary for the patch in Al Kharid if the player has completed the hard Desert achievements.

Upon harvest, the cactus will produce three potato cactus. This increases to six for the patch in Al Kharid with all hard Desert achievements completed and possibly for all cactus patches with a Giant Ent familiar. It does not need to be replanted after harvest and will yield two potato cacti every 20 minutes, capping at six, similar to a regular cactus.

The seed may be obtained by hunting most jadinkos, as well as through high level pickpocketing or from the Grand Exchange.
