There hath none other temptation taken you, such as followeth the nature of man. God is faithful, which shall not suffer you to be tempted above your strength: but shall in the midst of the temptation make a way to escape out.

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and how to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment for to be punished:

Then came Isaiah the Prophet unto king Hezekiah and said to him, "What say these men and from whence come they to thee?" They that will be rich, fall into temptation and snares, and into many foolish and noisome lusts, which drown men in perdition and destruction.

Let no man say when he is tempted that he is tempted of God: for God tempteth not unto evil, neither tempteth he any man. But every man is tempted, drawn away, and enticed of his own concupiscence.

They on the stones, are they which, when they hear, receive the word with joy. But these have no roots, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation go away.
