TzekHaar-Aken is the TzekHaar variant of the Har-Aken encountered in the fight with TzKal-Zuk as the penultimate enemy. It is encountered on Wave 17.

Killing TzekHaar-Aken counts towards Har-Aken Soul Reaper assignments, so it can be fought as an alternative to participating in the Fight Kiln. Like its original, it is also capable of dropping the volcanic shard that unlocks Shrimpy.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

TzekHaar-Aken acts similarly to its original TokHaar variant, spawning in either the east or west side of the arena and remaining above the surface of the lava momentarily before diving back down. Unlike Har-Aken, TzekHaar-Aken spawns above the lava rather than submerged, meaning that players can begin attacking it right when the wave begins.

Like its previous incarnation, TzekHaar-Aken will spawn numerous magic tentacles and ranged tentacles around the edge of the arena which constantly attack the player with long-distance hits. However, the magic tentacles also provide TzekHaar-Aken with a damage absorption effect that reduces damage it takes based on how many are active at once. The reduction varies from 0-1,100 damage. The tentacles will also provide loot when killed.

TzekHaar-Aken will occasionally launch blobs of lava to attack players, indicated by the screen shaking slightly and a fireball being launched out of the surrounding lava. If not dodged, this attack deals moderately high typeless damage, drains adrenaline, and reduces adrenaline gain by 50% for a 9 seconds (similar to the special attack of hydrix dragons). When submerged, TzekHaar-Aken can use a much more devastating version of the lava blob attack, indicated by fireballs being launched from all the volcanic geysers around the arena and a pop-up message with the text: TzekHaar-Aken is bombarding you. Look out! Shortly afterwards, 5 blobs of lava will land on the player's location in a compact '+' formation, followed by two diagonal lines of 6 blobs of lava each which criss-cross each other in a large 'X' formation. It is advised to run at least 3 squares in any of the four cardinal directions (north, south, east or west) to dodge this attack, rather than running diagonally.

There are some notable differences to the fight in hard mode:

  • As with the rest of hard mode, TzekHaar-Aken's life points are doubled from 150,000 to 300,000, and TzKal-Zuk can summon walls of lava during the fight.
  • TzekHaar-Aken will use its enhanced lava blob attack once while its head has emerged from the lava, in addition to using it twice while submerged.
  • When submerged, it will also spawn two sets of special tentacles around the arena from the volcanic geysers. These tentacles only have 7,000 life points (compared to the regular tentacles having 10,000 life points), but also have extra effects:
    • The Warding Magic Tentacles provide a much larger damage reduction to TzekHaar-Aken while they're active compared to the other tentacles.
    • The Piercing Ranged Tentacles inflict the player with a stacking "Armour Break" debuff that reduces the player's total armour by 1% per stack, reaching a maximum of 100% (similar to the debuff applied by corrupt anima-golems in the fight with Telos).

Update history[edit | edit source]

This information has been compiled as part of the update history project. Some updates may not be included – see here for how to help out!
  • hidden 11 September 2023 (Update):
    • The 50% combat experience reduction on bosses has been removed. Bosses now give 50 combat experience per 1,000 life points, like most other monsters in the game.
  • patch 1 November 2021 (Update):
    • Increased the amount of anima the player gains from killing creatures within Senntisten.
    • Having the ring upgraded will now continue to drop anima at a 100% drop rate rather than the previous 1/6 chance.
    • Prevented players from "farming" TzekHaar-Aken for the volcanic shard by teleporting out after it died by immediately putting a checkpoint progress in normal mode as soon as it dies.
