The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses, and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron; he treads the wine press of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.

Now a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent man, well versed in the scriptures.

You search the Scriptures, because in them you think that you have eternal life; and these are they that testify of me.

Of him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."

for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, proving by the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them the things concerning himself in all the scriptures.

So they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be." This happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says: "They divided my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots." This is what the soldiers did.

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are described in this book.

So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.

But I tell you truly, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; but Elijah was sent to none of them except to Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha; and not one of them was cleansed, but only Naaman the Syrian."

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
