F1 Report - Singapore's Grand Prix

F1 Report - Singapore's Grand Prix

Date: 2012-09-26
Singapore's Grand Prix night race went to the full two-hour time limit and had to be shortened. Luck ran out for Lewis Hamilton who was contending really well until his McLaren ran into gearbox trouble. This opened up the way for Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel, to finish the job for him, putting Vettel in second position in the Driver's Championship.

As the most unpredictable F1 season form many years roared into the night at Singapore, Fernando Alonso must have breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the chequered flag giving him third place and Jenson Button was left to carry the can on his own for McLaren.

After Singapore Fernando Alonso lies first with 194 points, Vettel has 165, Kimi Raikkonen is in third place with 149, Lewis Hamilton is hanging in with 142 and Mark Webber holds fifth place with 132 points.

In the constructors championships Red Bull hold onto first place with 297, McLaren Mercedes has 261, Ferrari 245 and Lotus Renault 231.

Still anybody's championship, the race moves to Suzuka in Japan on Sunday the 7th of October at 08H00.
