Kimi took the chequered flag in a show of skill that made his comeback all that more worthwhile. Unfortunately for the team, Romain Grosjean's race was thwart with difficulties and brought to a premature end when Perez tried some creative overtaking manoeuvres.
My hero, Sebastian Vettel, showed that it was not just about the machine but also about the driver's ability when he put on a display of driving skill that showed precisely why he is on the top of the leader board. Had the race been a little longer he could have taken first place. He had to settle for a fantastic third.
Fernando Alonso showed his skill as well pushing his Ferrari really hard and squeezing every ounce of performance out of the car. McLaren's tears must have been washed away by the Champaign spray from the podium as their race slipped between Lewis Hamilton's fingers and Vettel produced more brilliance in passing Jenson Button in the closing stages of the race to take the last podium position. So exciting.
A quick look at the points position shows Red bull holding onto the lead with 422 points, Ferrari with 340, McLaren-Mercedes holds third place with 318 and Lotus-Renault takes fourth position with 288.
In the Driver's standing Vettel hangs onto first place with 255 points, Fernando Alonso has 245, Kimi Raikkonen's win jumps him up to third with 198 points and Mark Webber holds fourth with 167. The next race is on the 18th of November in the USA.
Once again it was all about the tyres and speaking to Fuzail at Hi-Q Stanger will make a difference to your car's performance. See ad for details.
