Pearl Sky smashes R1 billion sales record

Pearl Sky smashes R1 billion sales record

Date: 2015-04-10
Breaking all sales records and entrenching its status as the most exclusive development in South Africa, The Pearls of Umhlanga's fifth and final phase, Pearl Sky, attracted an astounding R1 Billion worth of sales in one day. At an event, which took place on Saturday 4th April at the Durban ICC, hundreds of interested buyers flocked to secure their piece of paradise at Pearl Sky.

Director of The Pearls of Umhlanga Development, Anant Singh, explains, "This is an exceptional outcome and is testament to The Pearls being such a unique development on one of South Africa's finest beachfront locations. I am very proud to be a part of this iconic project, which is led by Nico Van Rooyen and Sudhir Pragjee. Congratulations to them and an exceptional team who hardly slept in the 48 hours leading up to the launch".

On completion in 2018, Pearl Sky will include 422 luxurious residential apartments. The total sales, all supported by reservation deposits, amounts to a launch sales value that has never been achieved before in this country.

"We can confidently say that the sales event has been an unrivalled success. Interested buyers from Dubai, other parts of Africa, Gauteng, and all corners of KZN queued from 10pm the night before (Friday) in order to ensure that they didn't miss out. Although we had expected a good response, the uptake has been phenomenal," confirms Piaras Moriarty, CEO of DevMark Global.

A development worth in excess of R3 billion, The Pearls of Umhlanga is one of the largest private sector investments in the region over the last ten years. Adding a completely unique element to The Pearls of Umhlanga, Pearl Sky will feature a luxury boutique mall offering retail, business and wellness facilities. This will feature the country's most stylish boutiques, designer labels and the finest restaurants, all to satisfy the most opulent tastes.

Attending an event hosted to launch Pearl Sky, the MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Mr Michael Mabuyakhulu, confirmed that a development such as The Pearls of Umhlanga was significant to generating both investment and tourism to the KwaZulu Natal province. "We need this kind of upmarket residential resort, as it perfectly complements the tourism investments and other assets and facilities that exist in KwaZulu Natal," he said.
