The inaugural Miss eThekwini Municipality 2016 - Jeans & Bling High Tea Breakfast took place at the private residence of Sorisha Naidoo in Umhlanga, Durban on Friday, 12 August 2016 at 08h30 as well as the inaugural Miss eThekwini Municipality 2016 Beauty Pageant that took place at the Durban Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre on Friday, 12 August at 19h00.
The Miss eThekwini Municipality 2016 - Jeans & Bling High Tea featured the 18 gorgeous contestants as well as the judges, Former Ms South Africa, Tatum Keshwa, Sibaya TV Show's hunk, Andile Gumbi and the SABC 3 Divas of Jozi, Sorisha Naidoo, Nazley Delport, Puleng Mash-Spies, Aimee Sadie and Sese Tetiwe.
Speaking at the Miss eThekwini Municipality 2016 - Jeans & Bling High Tea Breakfast, Miss eThekwini Municipality 2016 Founder, Jacinta Ngobese shared, "As the organisers of the inaugural Miss eThekwini Municipality, we are thrilled that we made this a reality not just for ourselves but for all the young ladies who have benefitted from it. These girls are a true reflection of how much Durban has to offer not just looks but brains, passion and young women who want to make a difference".
The SABC 3 Divas of Jozi TV Show, Sorisha Naidoo, Nazley Delport, Puleng Mash-Spies, Aimee Sadie and Sese Tetiwe were part of the High Tea Breakfast as the production was filming its final episode with the Divas at the two Miss eThekwini Municipality events on Friday, 12 August 2016.
Speaking at the High Tea, business woman, Miss eThekwini Municipality 2016 judge and SABC 3 Divas of Jozi - Diva, Sorisha Naidoo said "It is such a special privilege to be associated with Miss Ethekwini, I remember my first break coming to me many years ago when I took part in the Miss Durban pageant fresh out of high school. This is a wonderful platform for young ladies to be groomed, start their networking skills and become our leaders of tomorrow".
Guests were entertained by the vivacious, Lello Green and were also teased by one of the Divas, Sese Tetiwe as she sang a Beyonce song to the audience as the 18 Miss eThekwini Municipality 2016 contestants introduced themselves to the guests attending the High Tea Breakfast. Little Miss Universe also gave a few wise words to the contestants, encouraging them that "anything is possible if you just believe". Little Miss Universe was the eThekwini Municipality Parks, Recreation, Arts & Culture Unit Head, Thembinkosi Ngcobo's guest.
Later in the evening, the Main event was held at the Durban Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre and the crown was won by the beautiful, Nompumelelo Nkosi who is currently a 5th year medical student. Proving that beauty and brains can truly be a good combination and make for a good eThekwini Municipality ambassador.
