Whats The Issue?

Whats The Issue?

It is a sad sight to see the American people shooting each other up the way they are doing. It is scary to try and think how it must be for those parents running towards the school house with police sirens going off, your imagination feeding your fears with vivid images of your child riddled with bullets.

The madness of these attacks and their seemingly illogical motives have me praying that this scourge never comes to our country. We are famous for the family suicide, and I am so pleased that this fad seems to have lost its popularity over the last few decades.

While America and NATO and the EU parade their military might along the Russian and Ukraine borders, Russia launched their Baltic Drills alongside the same borders, and I just wonder how much money all this parading your military might is costing these two countries economies. By all reports the Russian forces are as powerful and as well equipped as the NATO Western forces and should this escalate into a full blown military conflict some lucky sods stand to make a huge amount of money. Aren't we pathetic?

Let me try for some good news. Jacob is out of hospital. I know that is good news for Jacob as I don't wish him any ill, however he will not be attending the first Cabinet lekgotla, choosing to rest at home during this time. I want him to get some rest but can he not go to Marikana and tell those platinum mines that they must pay the miners what they are asking or else he must nationalise those mines and pay those workers himself. Then we can get on with trying to make our economy grow. Hey?

Oh and before our president lies down at home, maybe he can have a few words with the prosecuting authority, they are just not listening to him. They are fighting amongst themselves like kids in a school yard. Lets get someone with balls to run this office, please.

All this might just be pedestrian if "The Beast", (no not our beloved Sharks prop, I'm talking about the giant asteroid that is heading towards earth) slams into the Earth then we wont have to worry about how much the miners want a month. We will have to worry about things like how to breath ash and dust without asphyxiating.

Well there is some good news out there and that is the news of the computer that recently passed the Turing Test. Eugene Gootsman is the name of the software program that managed to convince one third of the people it was interacting with, that it was a thirteen year old boy. Meaning that it displayed elements of intelligence according to Alan Turing's test method.

So what's the good news? Soon we wont have to think anymore, we can get our smart devices to do it for us, and in some cases the thinking will improve in leaps and bounds.
