Musgrave Flower Show in support of The Sunflower Fund

Musgrave Flower Show in support of The Sunflower Fund

Date: 2016-07-22
Musgrave Centre, one of the shopping centres' owned by SA Corporate Real Estate Limited, will host the 5th Annual Musgrave Centre Flower Show which will take place between 11thand 14thAugust 2016 and is open to all flower arrangers, both amateur and professional, across ten exciting classes. The arrangements will be set up at the Musgrave Shopping Centre on Thursday 11 August 2016 from 09h00 to 16h00 and will be open to the public from Friday to Sunday 12th - 14th August.

The show is set to be a floral feast for the eye with over 100 exhibits from approximately 50 talented exhibitors that range from international award-winning artists to the inspired talents of the Maris Stella scholars and the DUT Fashion and Design students to name just a few. The calibre of the event is of the highest standard, being set and judged by the KZN Panel of Floral Art Judges. Designs will be judged according to the interpretation of the title, excellence of design and originality. Prizes comprising of gift vouchers from Musgrave Centre will be awarded in each class and amount to a total of R25 000.

This year, the organisers are bringing something new to the event by introducing a design category inspired by The Sunflower Fund under the directive 'Hope begins with you'. These robust creations constructed on a rigid frame are kindly being donated by the artists to either be auctioned or sold to corporate organisations to raise funds in support of The Sunflower Fund's worthy cause. The Sunflower Fund creates awareness and educates and recruits stem cell donors to increase the number of people registered on the South African Bone Marrow Registry.
