Owners Michelle and Craig Hendrikz are a dynamic couple who have been innovative with their selection as well as the production of their coffees. With their new venue they will be introducing trendy coffee accessories, coffee gifts, and an outdoor coffee accessories range.
A new coffee menu has also been introduced with options like Cortado (a short white espresso), Turkish coffee, Iced Coffee Sunday and the menu is just getting started. Michelle has also introduced non-dairy milks and honey for those special customers who are lactose and sucrose intolerant.
At this time of the year and after the recent rains Beanstruk is a wonderland of colour and an extravaganza of aromas. The nursery, which is situated right in front of the new premises, affords its patrons a truly spectacular view.
Beanstruk Coffee Roastery in the Litchi Orchid continues a trend towards coffee derived from socially conscious growers and roasters, providing fair pricing, environmentally friendly farming and mindful sourcing. Great reasons why we should support them.
Coffee is a diverse beverage enjoyed by people the world over. As one of the most popular drinks on the planet, experts estimate that approximately 400 billion cups of coffee per year are consumed! While many people use coffee as a stimulant to get them going in the morning or help them through the afternoon slump at work there are health benefits to coffee and it can actually be good for you.
A massive review of the scientific literature on coffee published in the British Medical Journal found that drinking three to fours cups of black coffee a day provides the most health benefits overall. Prior studies have found similar benefits reducing risk for such issues asmelanoma, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, type 2 diabetes, liver disease, prostate cancer,Alzheimer's,computer-related back pain and more.
But the latest study also found two areas of concern. High levels of coffee consumption (more than four cups) during pregnancy was associated with low birth weight, pre-term birth and stillbirths. For women with a higher likelihood of bone fractures, coffee raised that risk; the same was not true for men.
There are some exciting plans in the pipeline at Beanstruk, with Barista Classes starting in January, and there will also be cupping sessions and coffee tastings. There are also exciting Christmas Gift Vouchers for Christmas with free gift-wrapping.
For those of you worried about the health of your daily java - you can now drink up and enjoy every rich and delicious drop!
